  1. What a good looking boy, no wonder his new mum fell in love with him ~ and his beautiful dark eyes. Wishing him a long and healthy life. Thanks to you and the boys for saving him, and bringing him up so lovingly.
  2. We lost our ever so happy GWP Struppie (Darkwings Inverness Java X Korskote Xplosiv Klass - Wesley) to Lymphoma, nearly three years later ~ after having been robbed of his litter mate Strolchie ~ and the pleasure of experiencing his love and devotion. Struppie was my husbands darling, Strolchie was my world. Now there is silence, no more of their exuberance, they rest in a spot near the river, next to each other ~ together forever. Much loved and missed ~ what a very happy chappy, that's what he was like ~ everyday of his life.
  3. Where retired SB horses get a new life. http://www.mmg.com.au/local-news/shepparton/retired-horses-get-new-life-at-tramel-park-1.41230 https://www.facebook.com/pages/Tramel-Park-Standardbreds/265410883475657?directed_target_id=0
  4. Lovely statement from a compassionate/proud new owner of one lucky greyhound. http://www.parliament.nsw.gov.au/Prod/Parlment/committee.nsf/0/83c054e3ad7c9275ca257c3200181555/$FILE/0538%20Georgina%20Ord.pdf
  5. Merry Christmas and a happy and healthy New Year ~ to all of you wonderful generous people, for whom I have the greatest respect.
  6. I use Advantix for my Pointer and Kelpie, without any known side effects. But I cannot imagine that any of these treatments are good for the animals' health. God knows what we will find out in time about them.
  7. Can't find stats for South Coast NSW pounds ( Moruya area). Canberra stats would be interesting, too, as each year - the big exodus down the coast starts around Christmas time.
  8. Lovely photo, and what a well cared for/happy Antoniette, somebody plaids her long hair lovingly.
  9. They were allowed to sell dogs in there a posh setup like that? Here you go, never knew that before. Was about time to end, good on the people who worked hard to achieve that.
  10. Lovely to see it worked out so well for both of them. Do they make their happy little noises, when playing together?
  11. Just came across ~ and thought I like to share this. So many loved pets, shown by their families with so much pride ( and tricks ). http://www.antiquepooch.com/antique_dog_photographs.html
  12. You all did so well, love looking at your pet's photos ~ already in Chrismas spirit. We had our photo session yesterday, here are my lovelies Adi and Teddy. I am so sick of this. Shock/horror, stop this ~ or I will throw myself onto the ground again. Just pretend to be asleep ~ and she will go away.
  13. teela, that's an extremely pretty STB in your photo. I always felt sorrow about the fate/wastage of the STBs, one does not see many around here where I live. One goes for the imposing TBs, as there are so many around - already trained to saddle. The STB is supposed to be a good doer, easy to get along with/please, with good quality/hard hoofs............ This link might shed more light about their popularity: http://forum.cyberhorse.com.au/forums/showthread.php?102367-Standardbreds-the-undervalued-riding-horse&highlight=trotters
  14. I found this photo on Facebook, it's so divine. Such perfection, shows the love gone into knitting this ~ for such adorable and proud dogs.
  15. So sorry for your loss, Rach, you have given him a great life - and lots of parties. Nobody could have done it better. Rest in heaven ~ Zuess.
  16. Hope your Boof is doing well, wishing you both lots of good times together.
  17. Bindo ~ I just checked on Struppie's family here, and found your sad post. So sorry that you had to give up your beloved Lucy ~ after a long battle so courageously fought. Thinking of you both.
  18. She is very pretty, so lucky you have saved her. Wishing her a very long life with her new family.
  19. I am still very enthusiastic about the actual deed of getting a dog out of a pound, I would always do it again - if I could absorb another dog into my family. I trust the pound ranger/s to give fair help/advise if asked for. But it would have to be a dog no larger or stronger than my present weakest dog. What I also noticed - are lots of dogs on death row - with seemingly good hips, which amazes me, as a lot of them are only BYB. Say no more, excuse my pidgin english once again.
  20. So sorry ~ Alf ~ you had to leave your loved ones.
  21. Ollie Dog is yours forever ~ what the heart has once owned and had, it shall never lose.
  22. So sorry about your Koda, sad about him not having a chance to grow old.
  23. Today is the third anniversary of Strolchie's departure into the forever hunting ground. Run free ~ I will forever hear you yodeling when taking off into the bush with Struppie. Tears every day for my courageous friend, who used to give me high fives non stop, and loved to pose for the camera - he would freeze till the photo was complete, always tried to outdo his brother at everything.
  24. I will always have a horse, suppose till the day I drop dead. I have three at my place at the moment, don't expect them to work for a living - just want them to enjoy their lives. To keep the grass short and combat tree regrowth - OH and I keep a herd of pet cattle.
  25. So true! Thrown onto council rubbish tips - with ears cut off, plus all the other tricks of the trade. Filthy human beings.
