Hi Guys, Does anyone know the Calc/Phos ratio for Bonnie Working Dog, it;s not on the bag or on the website. I sent the company an e-mail a week ago and haven't heard back.

I would have told her to F off rather than say I would buy a jacket!

I'm not wowed either.

Puppies Down In Pasterns - Any Advice?
sas replied to Kirty's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
Could it be that the pup isn't getting enough calicum in their diet? Sometimes during teething this can happen. Ester C can help with the absorbtion of Calcium. So perhaps a good quality diet and some Ester C? -
One of my dog's Breeder barely replied to my e-mails, even ones with questions or letting them know of health problems. One of my other dogs the Breeder is great, is always there for a chat and advice and loves seeing photos and getting updates about the dog.

Say the dogs name, give the dog a treat. Do this 20 times per session with at least 1 session per day or 3 sessions per day if you can. Once the dog has that sorted then say the name and wait for eye contact and then repeat the above. Dog will love its' name because it is associated with something good. Once dog has all of the above sorted, go from a treat everytime to a verable rate i.e. a treat then a pat/verbal praise then pat/verbal praise again, then a treat.....phase out the treat but always suprise the dog with one from time to time later on because it keeps that motivation there imo.

Having Great Danes, it's a given you'll have accidents! Fat lips, split lips, black eyes, bruised feet etc. Last week I was going down 4 steps with a bone and 3 Danes followed me down, all excited, I arsed over and ended up on the ground with 3 excited Danes thinking it was an awesome game.

This brings a smile to my face... we often had funny looks when we just moved to Australia because ours are indoors. One time we had an old friend from my husband over for dinner with his wife and 2 kids and when we started eating the dogs were just lying quiet under the table. No begging no nothing. Then 1 of the sons (about 8) said "dont you think we should bring the dogs outside when we are eating"......uhhhhhhhh NO, this is the dogs house as well and this is what they are used to. People are allowed to smoke inside here as well which often has the same effect I like your house, from a dog loving smoker. Eeek that's a whole different thread.....making non-smokers including the dogs inhale cigarette smoke.

Is This Reasonable Behaviour? Bit Of A Rant...

I would have told her to piss off. -
How do you know he's toileting in his crate because of anxiety then?
-
You might like to contact Steve at K9 Pro and ask him about the 'Handbrake' Method, that teaches dogs that they're not always going to get interaction with another dog just because they see them and be calm when they see them.
-
'Sound'? Really?
-
That picture actually does make the crate look huge!! Its actually not that big as it looks to be honest and he only has about 15cms left if he spreads right out. Also when he soils the area from anxiety, he does it on the padded mattress . I actually did cover the front, but one time when he was especially whiney, we came back home 2hrs later with the front cardboard clawed away and a big pile of cardboard pieces all over the place (not to mention a pile of other worse stuff).. I might change it to wood or something. Oh, and he does get fluffy toys as he loves fluffy objects. We have a bag full of stuffed toys for him! What do you mean soils from anxiety? He gets upset and toilets right there infront of you?

I wouldn't want my dog recieving treats at random intervills because what happens if my dog is doing something I don't want it doing at the moment it gets reinforced for? -
For those who don't think things like this are seperation anxiety think of the words 'Seperation' 'Aniexty' and that's exactly what pups have initially, just not nececssarily to the degree that some adult dogs have who may need to be medicated. I personaly believe Seperation Anxiety to be a human caused problem that can be fixed in the early stages by dicipline from the human to themselves!

Call the council and report each incidence you've had. As dog owners sometimes we can give other dog owners forgiveness but my rule is 3 strikes and you're out.

Could be 1001 different things, not neccessarily contact although this is where you'd start to think about what is different to normal i.e. spray anything on the carpet or grass? -
Yes, just babies, you don't have to have her stacked all the time, Luci understand the importance of breaks for babies
-
If your dog enjoys it then that's fine, if she's getting over it then have a break. When I went to Luci's with pup we only did half the class.
