My Dog has severe allergic skin disease and was desexed because I wouldn't breed on with this issue.

What do you deem as a 'proper' correction. If you understood the Prong collar you would know you don't give hard corrections on them, you can walk a dog with your little finger.

I can comment on this from personal experience. I had a Dane Foster turn up that had been on a Halter as she would get over stimulated and lunge at things that excited her.......she was at the Chiro every week and on pain killers because of the damage that was caused by her being on a halter +/- incorrect handling of the Halter. If she were on a prong it would have been a different story, I ended up training her on a check chain because of the public dismay towards the prong I couldn't have re-homed her trained on one, which was a shame. I have seen diffifult to manage Danes on Halters that make me cringle. Those who actually understand the use of Prongs that are used correctly understand they are a more gentle tool than checking a dog on a check chain, I personaly have a dog that ends up with a red neck and brusing from a check chain and that's not from constant checking, yet on a prong there are no skin irritations or bruising (for us) because it is a more gentle tool because you don't have to apply hard corrections etc. I wonder what people feel about the Neck Tech collars vs the Prong?

Make sure you make a complaint to the company so they have an opportunity to fix their customer service problem.

When I spoke to some turf places they said in Winter you have to keep the dogs off it for 4 weeks, or 2 weeks in Summer ARG!

What type did you get? I looked into it and It would cost around $2,000 installed for the dog pen which is 6m x 4.5. I heard they can heat up in summer and some of them have problems with being smelly with dog toileting?

The information I found stated that they are banned in official competition not for general use. The info you found is wrong. I am Norwegian, I know the rules. Perhaps you yourseld mis-understood the rules.

Average Joe Blow isn't generally equipped to handle an entire animal, I don't just mean the keep it safe from reproducing but also mean the attitude of entire animals. Some dogs handle their hormones fine, others do not. How many desexed dogs do you find in pounds vs entire....interesting thought.....could it be because desexed before sexual maturity makes for an easier pet and one in which the family enjoys rather than battles with? Those who are used to dealing with entire animals forget what it's like for those who are not. Desex before sexual maturity in my opinion for family pets and yes I do also mean that for Great Danes too based on the bigger picture. Performance dogs, there are performance dogs who are successfull who are desexed, however I do understand the theorie about keeping them entire.

If they are desexed then their gender is irrelevant, we rehome plenty of desexed bitches to live with other desexed bitches without any issues. 3 options as I see it 1) Get in a Behaviourist 2) Rehome one of them 3) Manage by seperation

In Great Danes we generally find it's fine to start training for the Endurance Test at 18 months when the growth plates have generlaly closed.

The only one I reccomend.

I use this game on my dog aggressive dog and also my puppy who gets distracted easily. It's important to work sub-threshold. The book: Control Unleased is what you'll want to read to learn more about the method.

If the dog has been left destressed then no more visits.

I had it done on a Rescue that looks somewhat like a Staffy x GSD. Came back mostly Rotti and 1% everything else in the world.
