They look like Pustules which are small pimple-like lesions. These pustules can occur from itching and biting of a certain area.

If you have a Breed Prone to Bloat, print this out: http://www.greatdanerescue.com.au/Bloat%20Chart.pdf and stick it to your fridge with the phone number and address of your emergency vet and call and make sure before an emergency happens that your Vets can and know how to deal with an emergency case of Bloat / Torsion.

If your dog isn't happy in storms and the Thundershirt isn't helping then you may need a different product such as: http://www.stormdefender.com/ that works with the static charge that some dogs start to get worried about.

Do You Still Vaccinate An Old Dog?
sas replied to Mum to Emma's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
I have an 11 year old and I haven't vaccinated her for about 6 years. -
When you live in a state that zappy is illegal you might not want to publically say that.

They don't make the Jet Air ones anymore but you can just use another Spray type collar and insert air only.

A bark is a bark, there is no way a collar can tell the difference, however they are are collars with different sensitivity levels.

Very dependant on the dog, some soft dogs you can get away with ultra sonic ones. I have a foster dog that a Vibration bark collar is enough. I think the best one out there is: http://www.k9pro.com.au/products/Dogtra-YS300-Electronic-Anti-Bark-Collar.html it has static levels and vibration levels. Obviously check your states laws and regulations about using static collars.

Who would have thunk it huh.

Single Bed, fits 2 Danes curled up.

Yes, although a strange case, her situation was because she showed (dog show) her de-barked dogs.

I've had dogs that were typical dogs and have dogs that weren't quite right i.e. emotional balance / over stimulation etc - not all are created even and I think it's nieve to think they are.

How Can I Stop A Dog From Going Through Our Bump Gate?
sas replied to heroeswit's topic in General Dog Discussion
Sounds like you have a few options and I can't even remotely see why PTS would even be considered as the problem is yours not the dogs. He won't listen when you call him - then work on the relationship with the dog. He gets out of the collar - then do the collar up so it's snug so he cannot back out of it. You could use a containment system: http://www.k9pro.com.au/categories/Containment-Systems/ You could use a dog run: http://www.k9pro.com.au/categories/Pens-%7B47%7D-Dog-Runs/ Sorry, but with all due respect it doesn't sound like the it doesn't sound like you've really done anything to try and manage the dog. If your family just doesn't want to work on the problem or doesn't want the dog anymore then please try and find the dog a home where he can be managed effectively. -
Our new foster does it and I tell him to move away, if he's being obsessive and isn't listening then I get up and walk away and ignore him for a bit.

Cant see why the Nutro helped though as it has grains in which many are allergic to Maybe because the dog doesn't have a problem with grains. Thats the problems with allergies, so many people make assumptions.

Great Dane Rescue NSW have a Trainer who has a small amount of Kennels in Bringelly where he can board and rehab for $10 a day. Contact me at [email protected] if you would like info.

Yep, the Danes nails grow fast, we have to cut them every week and they don't wear them down on food paths. I never cut quicks, I take my time and the dogs are trained to just lay down and let me do it, no matter how long it takes. The old girl has Black Quicks so I am slower doing hers. Then they all get finished with the Dremel.

Best Way To Bandage/treat 'happy Tail'

Your Vet will probably know a good way, our Vet did our last Dane Foster. -
Are staffies pretty infamous for allergic skin disease?

There are much cheaper places than Priceless Pets. This was done a few months ago, it's a comparison: http://www.greatdanerescue.com.au/flea_and_worming.pdf

I'd extend the pen, put down arthifical turf with a tarp under it or pee pads and use the drops that can attract them to toilet in that area.

I reccomend addressing the actual problem...why the dog is licking.

I don't know eh, just because they can hold dosn't mean it's fair on the dog if they're absolutely busting when you get home? -
Leaving Dogs Inside House When You Go Out
sas replied to poochiemama's topic in General Dog Discussion
The 2 adults have inside outside access when we're home via a giant doggy door. We used to just leave the back door open but installed the doggy door to keep the place cool/warmer. -
Vets charge, we`ll try other ways first. Ok, I find that really off. Of course Vets charge....that's what experts do....you know, train in their given field for 5 years. You culd spend money changing shampoos and food without either of those being the problem. I hope your dog doesn't have allergic skin disease because then you'll really find out how much these things cost. Good luck with it all.
