  1. A few days or a week isn't unreasonable - people are busy and often aren't chained to email or the phone. Don't give up. If you act this desperate it will turn people off selling you a puppy.
  2. Is she trained to pee on command? If not, might be worth starting to do (same way you would with a puppy), so the next step can then be getting her to pee on command inside on the pads, or wherever you want her to go. It will be a slow process, just as it is with a puppy, but consistency (and food rewards) will help you both along the way. I have a pug who is prone to uti's as she likes to hold on all day, as we try to change her toilet habits (bit easier as she's young, not older) I've added apple cider vinegar to her meals, and also added cranberry powder just to help fight the uti's.
  3. No one would see it there though. Why all the angst about having it in general? Just because there have been a few lately does not mean we are being overrun. As has been said about numerous other threads "if you don't like it don't participate in the topic". There have been plenty of other topics people would consider rubbish and they find it easy enough to ignore them. Really? How do people read the forums? I use the "view new content" which shows me all posts, regardless of where they are. Do people actually only read certain forums? But them again, if they are in the M&M subforum, the people who want to see it can go see it, those who don't - don't :) Yes - and they block out some forums too. Fair enough. No use reading stuff you aren't interested in.
  4. Keep your dogs away from children then? I would presume having the dogs behind a fence on your property would be considered keeping them away from the children! The dog's clearly not safe and kept away from the children if they are climbing the fence. lol, that's screwed logic. if kids climb into a dogs yard you can't say the dog isn't being kept away from children. maybe the child should be tied up so it doesn't climb the fence!

  6. Nice idea, but would get mighty hard and laborious to follow once the thread has a number of "wotami's" on the go at the one time. Maybe a new sub-forum then? There is a M&M's thread in the breed sub-forums, if people are determined to post then maybe there is appropriate.

  8. Have you made a claim through them yet? What were their response times? What's their customer service like? That sounds great about REAL. I'll have to look into the ages they cover... I'm so paranoid my second dog will get hip issues when he's an old man and they won't be covered. He's a Border Collie x German Shepherd x other, so anything could happen! One thing to check, most will only cover conditions for a year, I believe. I think Pet Plan is the only that will cover most conditions "for life" as opposed to a year from diagnoses.
  9. What was the rushed vet visit for? It might now be considered a pre-existing condition, so be aware of that. There are a heap of threads on this already, so do a search on pet insurance. Basically, there are two options. Pet Plan (underwritten by Allianz), and everyone else (underwritten by the Holland Insurance). "Everyone Else" offers the same cover as each other, just slightly different prices, Pet Plan is the only unique one.
  10. Maybe everyone in the retirement home will be deaf, and not able to hear? (sorry, that's my irrelevant and politically incorrect offer for the day) ;)
  11. I'm not only a kid hater, I'm a hater of the "they are only kids therefor they can do whatever they want" attitude as well as a parent hater (I'm joking, sort of). If the dog had turned on the kids, you can rest assured the kids would not have been held responsible for their behaviour in tormenting the dog. Better not hold the kids responsible for their behaviour, they are only kids!
  12. If he's not bothered by them, and not touching them, is there is a need to leave the collar on? There are alternatives to the elizabethan collars, including soft collars (so they don't bash into things!), and soft rings that go around the neck (sort of like those small blow-up pillows you take in the car to sleep on that go around your neck). I'm sure others here will have more detail on them though, or use the forum search function and you'll come up with a heap. I just put a wound dressing on my pups stitches when she was alone, didn't bother with the collar, and that suited her best.
  13. I emailed them and they credited me the difference. Not sure if they've changed the price on the website, but hopefully they have!
  14. Parents should be slapped if they've never taught their kids not to torment animals, yes!
  15. That's weird, the email says: HALF PRICE! Snugglesafe Microwave Heat Pad *This versatile heat pad is already on sale with 30% off! Use the coupon code and increase your discount to 50% off! Reg. Price: $63.95 Sale Price: $44.75 Sale Price w Coupon Code: $31.97
  16. Max brings things to swap me too. She steals shoes or undies (or anything she knows she's not meant to have) and runs straight to the treat cupboard and sits there with them, waiting. It started because whenever she had something she wasn't meant to have, I'd have to bribe her to give it back, and she figured out pretty quickly that taking things meant she got a treat lol
  17. According to the white pages there is one Wilkinson in Wauchope, did you try calling them?
  18. Oohh, thanks for the heads-up. That's a great price! I'll be getting one for my boy. Just moved from a warm snuggly apartment to a big old wooden floored house, so just grabbed one of these for my pup. Great price, thanks for the link! Ah, typical. I ordered one yesterday and now they are further on sale with the "Winter Warmer" sale code W2012 if anyone was wavering on buying one (makes them $31.97)
  19. Interesting thought to ponder! I have a black pug puppy (soon to be two black pug puppies) and in a way they suit my image, but at the same time they don't. I'm a mid twenties dyke (erk, scrap that, just realised I'm late twenties lol) with messy black and purple hair, who looks like she just rolled out of bed and pulled on clothes that have been slept on by the dogs on the floor (which is probably the case most of the time) So, probably more a Frenchie or even British Bulldog. But I must say, the manic black pug does suit me very well too :D
  20. your dog, your choice of treatment ..and you are paying the vet ..... :) Alternativly, you could try a more helpful vet!
  21. What do you mean register him as pure bred? You don't need papers to register him as pure bred with the council, you just write his breed on the form, they couldn't care less what you write!
  22. When my pup was desexed I put a temporary dressing on her wound overnight, because she wouldn't rest with the collar on either. Just a breathable non-stick dressing, with some wound tape that went far enough around her belly that she couldn't rip it off. Maybe can you try something similar, just for overnight?
  23. Oohh, thanks for the heads-up. That's a great price! I'll be getting one for my boy. Just moved from a warm snuggly apartment to a big old wooden floored house, so just grabbed one of these for my pup. Great price, thanks for the link!
  24. No worries! I used it for a few months, before graduating her to a bigger one without a lid where she could see out the window http://www.mypetwarehouse.com.au/KURGO-SKYBOX-BOOSTER-SEAT-MEDIUM-BLACK-p-11869 (although it wasn't anywhere near that price!)
