I know what i will be charged for a consult before i visit the vets, if i go to a new vet i ring up and ask before going in. And why wouldnt you have to pay for the consult if you dont take the drugs? Why should they see your pet for free?

I have a skinny dog, she used to drive me nuts. I feed Nutrience Active, and she gets fresh mince with it, she gets chicken frames every few days and a smallish bone at night before bed. Seem to have finally worked out what works for her!

Couldnt you just put a bucket on him? I got a lump off Atlas yesterday, he has been chewing it the last few weeks, bucket on his head and he cant reach it, i take it off when he is with me, but if i am out, it will go on. Its only 10 days till the staples come out, so not too much of a pain. i dont see why they wont? I will call in sometime and find out how much Ats cost me (im still hiding from it )
-
ahh, ok, will ring tomorrow, thankfully i havent had much to do with lumps being removed and stuff so wasnt sure what they normally do! ETA it was just a lump/wart from his front leg, so nothing too bad
-
Do they always give them out if they operate? (im guessing yes, but just wanted to be sure!) At just had a lump removed, by the time i realised i didn't get any Antibiotics for him, the vets were already shut (i was chatting away to the vet for a while, i didnt even think to ask for them) Will ring up tomorrow morning and if he needs them, will have to get dad to drop in and get them for me (working all day) ARGH

If he swallows them raw , wouldn't he swallow them frozen ? nope just try it, you will see they will slowly chew on the frozen chicken wing my golden retriever used to swallow chicken necks whole, after giving her frozen raw meaty bones she now chews everything, even fresh chicken necks :D I feed frozen chicken wings, they almost kill themself on defrosted ones, but have no choice but the chew the frozen ones!

Dog Walking Lifting Legs Funny And Hunched Up
Teebs replied to doglova's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
pinched nerve? One of my boss's dog had that, he would be walking fine, turn the wrong way and it would floor him Chiro fixed him up -
I only get the Canine Cough vaccination because my dogs come to work, they have to have it to be allowed on site. If they ever stop coming, they will not be vaccinated for it, Kaos gets it every year anyways... Heartworm - that is a hard one, i have had most vets in town tell me that we dont have it here, and didnt worm them for it. But thought i was better safe than sorry, after talking to someone i know whos dog got it.. so they are now on monthly tablets for it lumps - i dont like lumps, i would get it removed

Is It Fair To Dictate How Your Dog Plays
Teebs replied to MolassesLass's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
i have spent so much money on toys, kaos is the same, wont touch anything else, but give her a toy and she will kill it! Never ripped a bed apart, only chewed a phone and a remote when she was a puppy, and thats it. I now only give them GOOD toys, i have a few here that have lasted ages, I got a Rope Ball thing yesterday at work, wasnt sure how it would go... gave it to her last night and she loved it. Only cost $10, so if it dies, it dies ETA: might actually answer the question If they are ripping something apart (their toy, not something i own!) then i just let them do it, they are having fun, as long as nothing is eaten that shouldnt be, i let them go - they are just going to do it again the next time you hand them the toy if you take it off them -
I would be taking her out when you are home - 6 months is a long time to not be toilet trained... most of my pets were done by the time they were 14 weeks at most. It did take the kitten a fair while to get the hang of the cat flap, i had to tie it open for ages and ages or he would poo in the loungeroom (tiles thank god!) And all mine were done with me working 9 - 10 hours days 5 days a week. Why cant she stay outside during the day?
-
not sure of your set up, i would be banning all access to upstairs, and put the paper down near the door downstairs, once she is used to that, i would prop the dog door open and teach her in and out, once she is used to it, you can lower it and teach her to actually use her head to push it open
-
If i had any doubt, i wouldnt get the pup... i know how hard it is, i got a kitten last year, found a breeder who had a few kittens i could pick from, i was so excited, but after talking to the breeder, i had to say no, there was just something i wasnt happy with... The right kitten and right breeders did come around, but it sucks having to wait!!

I am allergic to my Bull Terrier, when i am playing with him, i get a red rash on me, it looks like bites, once i wash my hands/arms it goes away. I also get it with one of the other bullys at my work, but no others... could it be something like that?
-
oh, i have to say with kaos, she would wake me up.... AFTER she pooed!! I hated her for a while
-
i totally agree, Kaos was shocking, for a LONG time! she drove me nuts, never weed, but would poo inside, i went back to the start, she was crated at night, crated when i couldnt watch her, she would cry, so i would take her out to go to the loo, and bring her in and crate again, it took a while for her to learn she couldnt poo inside, but worth the hassle, i can now leave her in the house alone and know she wont go

no idea what actually happened, but i can guess. Dont run from :p :p I dont see anything wrong with that post and think it is a bit weird that you are upset by it? As for diet change, i work in a kennel, we feed a set diet (unless owners bring their own food it, and that is very very rare) out of the 18 months i have been there, dogs on sudden diet changes, i can tell you of TWO dogs that had a bad reaction to the change over. For the amount of dogs we see there, 2 dogs is nothing. Both owners now bring their own food in and dogs are fine. I also change all my pets diets around all the time, never had a problem.

thats me i had a look at the dremels, but the price on them! this does the same job (we have a dremel at work) and it is cheap as
-
I got an engraver from bunnings years ago, cost me $13, and had the attachment to file. I still have it, but it is on its last legs, will have to save another $13 and get a new one soon

Sit, Fetch, Stay Or Die: The Pit Bull Ambassador Program
Teebs replied to shel's topic in General Dog Discussion
god, my dogs wouldnt pass that test... sit still for a pat? kaos? Hell no!! She wriggles and rolls over for a tummy rub, she is also terrified of a brush, so would fail the grooming side of things... Not going to comment on anything else, not in the mood for a debate today -
Those who can get it done are so lucky  I was priced $260 from my cheap vet per dog per year, i just cant afford that. On the other hand, i have found a vet who is happy to do the 3 year Vaccination! it is $90 per dog, but i can handle that, so we will be getting that done at the end of the year

Kaos will sniff, and her face squishes up like ours do when you smell something bad pretty funny actually the cats and Atlas love it
