Luxating Patella Problem
VizslaMomma replied to Jakethepake's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
to date have you seen your local Vet or a specialist? Here's an older thread on the topic. http://www.dolforums.com.au/topic/138045-luxating-patella/ The last post in the thread is by a Specialist. Note he recommends The Perth Vet School. Unless your local Vet knows someone there too, maybe consider a consulation with a specialist. You may get a better idea of what lies ahead. -
Ah, thanks. I asked because an older Vizsla owned by a friend in the USA has this diagnosed. He was already having hydrotheraphy for exercise needs. His Vets are impressed with his mobility.
-
Looks like the SA equivalent could be School Services Officer. http://www.tafesa.edu.au/xml/profile/profile_OCC291.aspx
-
Did you ever do hydrotheraphy with him?
-
Still none the wiser. Must be something special if she gets to bring the dog along to work. Most teachers don't get to do that. I am hoping someone will explain - getting curious now. In the USA it used be non-teaching roles to aid teachers. EG, preparing classrooms, say a science lab for lessons or art classes and doing admin work that did not take the (precious) time from teaching. ANother duty would be checking the school roll of attendence.

Video: Baby Tries To Take Bone From Golden Retriever
VizslaMomma replied to a topic in General Dog Discussion
I decided to not even watch it after reading some of these posts. Humans again. Daft gets. Poor dogs at the mercy of them. -
Dont see how it could fail, tbh. SIL has Mareemas, Vallhunds, Lappies and assorted crosses. All live in harmony. CBF, note I am saying 'harmony'. The dogs live as a pack. She has few behaviour troubles. Her Vallunds races after the Mareemas to help them work the goats. I'll check with her of their foibles. Sounds lovely for you.

What Would You Think Of A Vet Who Said This?
VizslaMomma replied to Loving my Oldies's topic in General Dog Discussion
Do you know I have a vague memory of a myth that went around years ago where a Vet was quoted as making this totally assine remark. Tact is not a strong point with many males as you know DDD. Silly man. -

Dear Dog. Not more humans being daft. Dog help the Pound animals. -
Awesome we'll see you there In the new, and going to be used 2015 diary already. I love sheepdog trials. Lived in both the UK & UK & USA. Have attended a few trials.

Poor Neko. Had a bad case with Herbert two weeks ago. The hives were the size of dinner plates. Being very vigilant still. Paws crossed for Neko to fully recover.

Cleaning Kennels - What Do You Use?
VizslaMomma replied to carolineh1's topic in General Dog Discussion
That would be Phenyle (sp?) Could be....and when reading the fine print on the container it did recommend for cleaning and disinfecting dog kennels as well as bin cleaner Have to be careful with Phenyle. Make sure to use only in wide open air and never confined spaces. -
oh dear I might have gone online and bought 5 pairs of shoes and got 80% off all :D Nice innit. Loving RIVERS discounts. Got some nice cotton tee-shirts too.
-
Great photos!!!! Many Merries from our house to yours!

He's a lucky boy. Paws crossed for no more worries.

If I can not pinpoint a specific reason, I consider the Vet after two such episodes. Have a think of what he might have been doing say since lunchtime yesterday. Any adventures he might have had that caused this? To give you an example, Horrible Herbert chomped on a leather sandal. Small problems afterwards

run free, Blue-Eyed callie

A wee bit more enabling. RIVERS have a 40% sale for Club members. Earlier I got x2 pairs of real suede leather boat shoes for $10.00 each. They work OK for winter shows.

So did I. But I found with Tibor, the older he got, the drier his nose became. He was not confined to indoors but had time outside as well. He also had a thyroid condition. Adding the cocnut oil and the sardines helped his nose go back to that moist (healthy) feel & look. ( if that makes sense)
-
I buy an good organic coconut oil from Woolworths.
-
Snap! I use both sheena & Steph M's suggestions. Works a treat.

this is the style, or something very similar, I saw a few women wearing yesterday and thought they looked good, practical, and comfy. Just what I want. I looked online but cannot see anything about their price. Can you remember what they cost, although I would imagine they've gone up a bit since you bought yours. You started a chain reaction. I was forced to go look for sandals as Horrible Herbert had dinner of two sandals. Here's their AU site http://www.naotshoes.com.au/ 20% off and free shipping. 2nd page has some prices. Wondering if I should indulge. :)
