  1. Is that something to do with what club you may be trying to join? Gosh, I hope this does not apply in NSW>
  2. Not sure if I ever mentioned this story. I had a dear wee hand raised cockatiel. Sweetest little bird. (little being the operative word too.) I decided the bird might have been ailing because he appeared to not be feeding. I put him on the kitchen scales. Of course, his weight was so grossly inaccurate. I begged DaddyVizsla to drive us about 70kms to 'the Bird Vet'. You know, my baby was poorly etc. Even years later Jim Gill laughs at that consulation. I proudly wore the label of Neutoric Momma. Bird was fine but the Vet appreciated I had concerns. He was just a smaller bird. I was pleased to be treated well ableit silly. :)
  3. Implies a familiarity with you that is totally out of place. Not really her business, imho, unless in the content of a consultation. For me, I need the empathy of the Vet to allow proper treatment of my animals. Sorry to read this, DDD.
  4. LOL! That's a Vizsla special too. I shudder at the face licks in case there's been certain body part licks before touching my face.
  5. Very informative thread. I am with Petplan but feel very uncomfortable after their actions this year. Our account had no deductions for two months, then double deductions. On paper, they say we are up to date. My bank account tallies but it's a concern. All other insurance policies run like clockwork with deductions on time. Thanks to the info and reviews, I will consider changes as well.
  6. 77cm takes a Vizsla with comfort. :)
  7. Squuuuuuuuuuuuueeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee So beautiful
  8. I'm adding mah name to the want a basket of boxers list too, please. I do insist that that bonny boy boxer be included.
  9. He's 12 weeks old & his breeding????.....about 5% SWF & 95% black devil. It's my daughters pup & I think she has tried squirting him with water when he does it, but he thinks that is just so much fun  Good idea...wear shoes & maybe spray the shoes with bitter spray or vicks. Dont go to the extra expense of Vicks. Get the generic from Woolworths. Works well. :)
  10. May you be strong to help Rocky at this so very sad time. How lucky Rocky is to be surrounded by your love.
  11. Full of style to the end. Be free, Ness.
  12. Big risk of choking for a small breed like a JS. The husk is very fibrous & with Puppy alone, not a good choice of food. LickyLicky Gabor would cough & splutter the few times he ever ate coconut husks.
  13. If those are the known conditions, there would be no time. If full evacuation was not happening, then defence of the property might be. Would phones even be working? I recall some years ago for the NSW Rural Fire Service, we would lose radio contact out of the blue..... (inserts roll eyes smiley at the panic that makes.) All of this would depend on circumstances, imho.
  14. WHAT?? Seriously, she was a bit bemused. Nothing was stolen. That was a practice in the area she lived in then. think the idea was maybe something might be saved...
  15. I'm not sure what the definition of high risk is, but there hasn't been a major fire in that area since Ash Wednesday in 1983. And the one before that was about 30 years back again. Very difficult to ever predict what fire may do. Years ago, my Aunty living in Hobart, Tasmania, was in a neighbourhood that came under duress because of bush fires. Her husband had put sprinklers, pool, generator and every possiblee thing he could think of to be able to protect their place. She was away working in Hobart when they got the call to go home to defend their home. ( No mobiles back then.) Turned out the fire roared along her road. Engulfed her neighbour's property yet jumped theirs. She got home to find neighbours & strangers busy throwing her belongings out of the house. One wall only was singed.
  16. errrr, trying hard not to be enabled. :)
  17. dont forget, you might even have to do a half day at a time. I'm thinking there's a big amount of rehabilitation needed for Rocky. Hugs to you for caring so very much.
  18. typical immature response when people can't articulate their argument/point of view, they lash out instead. Your responses about the owners of the kennels has not be pleasant. Alpha Bet, I truly appreciate your expressive post. Thank Dog you and your family got thro' that horrific ordeal.
