  1. The dear old man had a great day. He was beside himself with delight when he discovered his Daddy had left a large bowl of prawns right at nose level. He felt an overwhelming urge to bomb the bowl and acquire a great mouthful to munch! The mince was lapped up too. He slept right thro' the night after his dining.
  2. http://www.dolforums.com.au/topic/259850-happy-birthday-to-a-dear-friend/page__pid__6580274#entry6580274 I did not want to jinx us. Tibor is 15 today. Snoring after a nice dinner and fresh baked liver logs for dessert.
  3. Thank you. How wonderful! I hope Gus has had a wonderful day too. Happy Birthday, dear Gus
  4. It is a popular name. The VERY first human who gave me info about Vizslas years ago was named Tibor. In his honour, we named our first male for him. Any Tibors we have meet has always been a super type of being. That includudes dogs & humans LOL
  5. Today marks the 15th Birthday of our beloved Hungarian Vizsla boy, Tibor. Although now tired, and a little dotty, Tibor greets us each morning with a tail wag. He still have that beautiful placid nature that won my heart all those years ago. He is one of those rare dogs that have never ever put a paw wrong. Came to his furever home as fully house trained a young 8 weeks old. He has always been laid back and totally adorable. He was even a most genteel stud with his bitches. His preference was for no audience when he performed. His puppies were a joy. One of 12 puppies, Tibor was the first Mister Brown I ever had the pleasure and honour to meet. He was the first to 'do/copy' what the adults did. He has never argued with any other dogs in the home. He simply prefers to be calm and quiet. Tonight he is going to enjoy his 'fav' mince with some chopped up chicken & sardines. That's a tail-wagging dish he adores. Twilight is coming soon. We know this. But when a old chap can still do a Vizsla zoomie to get to that morsel of dried liver, we shall continue to watch and care for him. Happy Birthday, Tibor http://s1311.photobucket.com/user/Genni_Greene/media/005_zps72403796.jpg.html I toast the beloved old and the adored new dogs of our home.
  6. Did you see that it is sold online? Could it be landed in OZ via that means or totally out? :)
  7. Gabor & ZsaZsa used dine on tail of lizard. I would notice lizards wtill around without tails long after the event. Hope it's the same for you. ZsaZsa's speciality was geckos.

  9. So enjoying these.... Amazing dogs that own us. :D
  10. How they know a 'day' always amazes me. Bessie, long gone after 15 years of being a sheep & cow dog AND puppy maker even knew times on days. My Uncle used milk a big herd of cows. His only day off was a Sunday. Every Sunday, at 14:30pm, Bessie would go up to the back paddocks and bring the cows into the byre for milking. Same bitch during lambing would know where to go on the property to find the ewes in distress in lambing. My Uncle would tell people that if he had not had Bessie, he would never have survived on the farm such where her skills. In her later years, she was riddled with arthritis. He would lift her in and out of the ute. His reasons were so simple. She was his loyal and loving best friend.
  11. I did a great imitation of that last night. Horrible Herbert was brave/bold/needy enough to be out in the thunder & rain that hit The Hawkesbury. He decided to do zoomies rather late (Which he really enjoyed too). I was out there with him playing too. :D
  12. Mim will be very happy too! Great news :)
  13. One of the best incidences (if this is the correct word) involved a cross bred dog belonging to a friend. Because of her OCD tendencies, the dog got a bath every Saturday, any time after 09:30am. And every Saturday morning, at 09:25am ( give or take a minute) said dog went and crawled under the double bed. She never got towels out, said the 'b' word. I watched this on many occasion. We both howled with laughter. How would the dog have known?
  14. Happy Happy Gotcha Day!!! Gotcha yourself a beauty there, Kirislin. Think they are contagious
  15. With ALL due respect, please read what I wrote. I made no such statement. To note further, I do not intent to argue online with strangers after having to have my own dog treated because of numerous issues post vaccination.
  16. Only in a discussion with a breeder in the USA. There is a school of thought it might exist. Bear in mind I am speaking only as a lay person. We were discussing a puppy's behaviour AFTER vaccination. The breeder sincerely felt the puppy had issues after being vaccinated, not observed in its earlier life. Purdue University wrote a paper on it. Dr Jean Dodds has alluded to issues of vaccination over her many years of practice. Maybe look with google for canine autism and vaccination.
