  1. I'm so over it. Let your supporters know! Use the only voice we have. https://www.facebook.com/SSRdogs.org.au/posts/1349097351902301
  2. Born from Shel's extensive research, asking rescues exactly what they need and what the obstacles are now that PR are cutting us out of welfare donations and individual presence. I know there's been attempts at starting new PR sites and even new DOL sites but it takes the support of a community to get these things off the ground. Anyway, brand new so please be kind and please share. In the first couple of days there are some rescues on board already. http://rescuelink.com.au/
  3. I use small plastic archive boxes stacked for the steps. I did buy what DD has but the same problem, great for getting up but too narrow or steep or something for the seniors to get down so they use the boxes with non-slip on them and seem very happy for getting both up and down. Not attractive but it works well.
  4. We're moving closer and closer to nice shiny legalised puppy farms.
  5. And something truly awkward in a podcast if you have time to listen to drivel. While JB tries to explain why they want and an exorbitant amount of money, to build a 'button' while not actually rescuing anything. But it's all for our own good you know because they offer a 'bunch of other services' and really work hard with us to help rehome pets. Aren't they wonderful. Don't hold your breath waiting for this imaginary money to come rolling in once this gets set up. A truly honest service wouldn't collect every email and hit up every single inquiry we get before we even have a chance to respond. PODCAST
  6. ''So they're not 'yowlin' and howlin' for some hot lovin''
  7. I'll try tagging @Steve in case she's still around. She might have some extra advice.
  8. Have you looked at slippery elm as a supplement? Very commonly used for gut issues in dogs and horses.
  9. Also - why ask for $50k - $100k to build a secure donation system? I mean, what are they taking donations on now? What is this? If not a secure donation platform? https://secure.petrescue.com.au/desexmas/ Also - what is this if not a secure platform? https://us1.campaign-archive.com/?u=180da3fac37065a9753be0008&id=047291aaf6
  10. Yep! Always the $ at PetRescue and very little trickling down. Now they get to collect more donor details by using a button on our dogs. They raised $30k+ in corporate money for a poorly advertised cat subsidy program this year and spent a pitiful amount reimbursing the groups that actually participated. Fine print there was; if you wanted the subsidy you had to hand over your adopter's details in advance. Not a hope in hell PR.
  11. B12 A canine multivitamin can be very effective. Or, some just like to do it. edit; I'm not ruling out diet change and actual veterinary issues like the need for bloods and floats etc especially if it looks the same coming out as it does going in.
  12. @boronia they don't even fit NikNak is it ok to keep them until I rescue a chi or would you like me to mail them on? I will post some gratuitous christmas photos for you when they are done as a thank you for thinking of us. xxxx
  13. Have a look at fear stages https://www.dolforums.com.au/topic/117592-puppy-development-calender/
  14. He's in the Forever Care section. It's an old photo though, his eyes are quite cloudy now. xxx
  15. Well I learned they are too tiny even for Eddie. Might have to try NikNak. It's photo season now so he's already going to be posing in a christmas tree outfit.
  16. Rule of 3. 3 days for the shock to wear off, 3 weeks for them to get used to things and 3 months for them to settle in and really open up. Give her time, try not to hover, just let her explore on her own and watch the regular workings of the house.
  17. Sometimes it's just for fun or to clean their face. Sometimes it's allergens or food allergies. You usually get extra clues like weepy eyes, nasal discharge, patchy hair loss, scratching around the corner of the mouth or in the ears. Sometimes it's a foreign object, grass seed, ingrown eyelashes or manky tooth. If you are worried a vet checkup is always good.
  18. Yes plenty of registered breeders to choose from. Here It's not all that hard to keep your registration going if you want to breed. I don't know the standard price but I'd choose to pay more if it was the going rate for registered pups rather than save some by going on someone's word that they are selling you a purebred.
  19. Believe it or not, he came with that name and his friend called Myles. Funny little twosome, very different to each other. Malcolm's name suits him perfectly. lol
  20. No Raw means Raw not 'cooked in fat at 40degrees'.
