  1. Thanks Sherel, that would be great, I have had no internet since Monday, so I just saw this message. Trish
  2. My whippets loved it too, when I tried them with a sample bag. The problem is getting it here in SA, seems impossible without a hefty freight charge. Hopefully Sherel will come up with someone who is interested in handling it here for her.
  3. I called in to my local pet shop (they don't sell animals) today, and mentioned to the owner, whilst looking around, what we were doing. He thought it was a great idea and promptly sold me a bag of chicken feet and roo sticks for his wholesale price. So maybe mention it to businesses that you patronise and they may come to the party too. Trish
  4. The bedrooms are polished boards, the bathroom and toilet are tiles and the rest of the house is slate, which I love, the dogs do not slip on it, but they are not allowed to run in the house. I have a few rugs around, the dogs have their beds, but often lay on the slate if it is hot even with the air-con on. Easy to clean and just needs resealing maybe every 5 years.
  5. I hope he kept his chicken down and is able to come home, sending healing thoughts.
  6. I love the tags from www.boomerangtags.com the service is prompt and great, and the tags last for ever, they have a huge range too, and with the AUD so good, it is well worth the purchase.
  7. What a great idea, will do one for a EDD dog and one for a soldier. I guess the doggie wipes would be a good idea too, I guess the dogs don't get too many baths.
  8. I looked at the "cat & dog" vacuum and the only difference between it and any other is the charcoal filter for 'odours'. The off putting side was I'd be replacing bags on a far too regular basis! It'd cost me a fortune in bags. It's got to be bagless for me. The bags actually hold a lot and they are also well made (not just some crappy paper bag)...I bought a box of them (either 4 or 5) for $20. I have the Miele vacuum too, and I bought an attachment in which the dirt and dust is collected before it goes into the bag, the only time the dust goes into the bag is if you disconnect the wand to do skirtings etc with the hose . It is simple to empty, just a clear cylinder, when I bought my vac the store recommended this attachment and put it on for me. Its great, my bag lasted 12 months.
  9. I have the second one that you listed, and it works well for my whippets and greyhound. I have used it for about 3 years and never had a problem. Just make sure that it is fitted very firmly. Trish
  10. I think Banshee was pretty smart, she just wanted to go home to YG.
  11. Thats fantastic news, well done Chase
  12. You must be feeling sooo relieved, I hope he continues to improve. Whoops sorry gremlins........
  13. You must be feeling sooo relieved, I hope he continues to improve.

  15. I have got the voltage regulator thing, (not sure what it is called), so that the clippers work here. I have bought them when over there before, but am not sure about online sites, and didn't want to get burnt.
  16. With the dollar so good I thought I would buy some blades etc, but would like recommendations of sites which are good to deal with. TIA
  17. Is the base ripstop, or is it a more snuggly material ? Can't imagine my whippies liking ripstop to lie on somehow. Trish
  18. I would be so grateful if you would be able to do one of your beautiful portraits for my beautiful Skye, I have just lost her after her being my heart dog for the past 15 years. It is a bit soon at the moment, but if you could do one for me sometime in the near future, I would be very grateful. Trish
  19. Go to Pets Domain. They have the Hills & other premium foods on special every second week, big savings. If not in stock they may be able to get it in for you. One at Gepps Cross, Gawler & not sure where else, google ? A friend of mine swears that the Hills B/D made a huge difference to the life of her aging Border Collie. I won a bag of it at my vet's seminar on old dogs last year. My old boy certainly liked it. My vet said that it wouldn't help my younger boy Darcy in the IQ area though.. ETA: Vet Products Direct sell it direct to the public for around $90 a bag. No idea on delivery costs though. Thanks, I just looked at the VPD website and the $90 bag is only 8kgs, I buy the 12kg bag, but they don't deliver to SA anyway, so I guess I just keep buying it from my Vet. Thanks for the suggestion anyway.
  20. Go to Pets Domain. They have the Hills & other premium foods on special every second week, big savings. If not in stock they may be able to get it in for you. One at Gepps Cross, Gawler & not sure where else, google ? It is a prescription diet though, so I don't think they would sell it, you can only get it through a Vet. I will certainly check it out though, cos' my greyhound is on RC Low Fat Digestive (because of pancreatitus) it is also a prescription diet. They keep me poor. Thanks
  21. Hoping to hear some good news about Yogi today.
  22. One of my whippets, who is 15, does the pacing and staring into space behavours, she is also deaf. My Vet prescribed Vivitonin for her, it increases the blood supply to the heart and brain. It has not made much difference to her, but I have heard that for some dogs it is very helpful in alleviating some of these things. She is also on heart meds now too. She loves her food, and sleeps well at night, but is awake and pacing early in the morning, she still enjoys her little walks. I just have to be vigilant during the day if it is raining and she is wearing a coat, she doesn't feel the rain and will walk around in it for ages and get wet. I treasure every day I have with her, it is really just like looking after a puppy again, it is so sad to see them age. Edited to add that my girl is also on the Hills b/d diet. ( $150 a bag, is pretty expensive I think )
