My girl Victoria, reached 11yrs and was fit as a fiddle. Went running around the park and for a decent walk each day right until the sudden end. People often mistook her for a pup as she was such a loon.

Oh please edited to clarify for RnL.

The same happens at the Avalon pet shop & Warriewood. I don't think they rent them though, you can just put your name down to care for a pup for the night. They were the two I was thinking of Warriewood has just so many pups atm. Friends of mine mind them, they are a lovely family and the puppies get to sleep with the kids all night. Lovely for pup at the time but I wonder how hard it then is for pup to go back to pet shop after a night of cuddles, loving and human companionship. The first and last time I was in the Avalon one recently a family was buying a staffy type pup and the shop assistant said when it comes time to breeding she knows of some 'nice boys' to mate their girl with. I walked out, never to return or recommend.

Happy Birthday!

At the end of the day the dog is hers and legally, she can do whatever she likes with her. She sounds like a tool though. I've been faced with this dilemma a few times with clients dogs and knowing where they got them from, I chose not to 'dob' on them. So long as the dogs needs are met I felt it was best left alone. Icky dilemma for you though.

Lots of stores do it. Our local one does it, quite a few local families mind the pups over the nights/weekends.

Are you flea free because of the Comfortis? I am curious how effective it really is.

I'd say teething too. From memory the OP has a Stafford.

Flour of any kind. I find it is less messy than soap.

OMG, how tragic. I'm so sorry

She's a special dog Bindi Boo, I know how much you needed her at the time so it's lovely to see how much she means to you now

I agree. My dogs pretty much only go out to the yard to toilet. I clean up straight after them and look after the garden so the grass is fine.

I've found the opposite with my boy. He was a real pain. He'd pee on anything and everything. Every fence gate, door, post, washing machine.... After i had him desexed a few months back, there has been a big improvement in this. No doubt it's not an option for BL, but it did make a big improvement in my dogs case. It is an option but one that means I can't show him in the future if I want to. At the moment I can't show him because he's still a gangly, skinny teenager (when will I ever get a dog that stays together as it grows?? ) and I'm not really fit for running just now either. I anticipate that when he's a big, muscly, beautiful adult he might be a show prospect, at least to get a beautiful solid boy seen in the ring. I want to keep that door open for now. I know if he was desexed we would still have to deal with the behaviour but I get the feeling that it makes it a bit easier when you remove some of the motivation. He's only just started so it's not too established a behaviour at this stage. Suprelorin perhaps?

I'm sorry but I am starting to wonder WTF is wrong with Pitbulls. Why does this breed over and over again turn on people. I used to be on the other side and believe it was all a matter of the breed attracting loser owners - but you don't see Spaniels and Retrievers turning on people with regularity the way Pitties appear to be doing, no matter who their owner. I even had a 'deed not breed' sticker on my car - but my resolve is starting to crumble.

Ear Glueing - How Successful Is It?
Clyde replied to Stitch's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
I was always a bit skeptical and didn't bother with one dog (I now wish I had). Warley recently glued a pups ear for me with amazing results. The ear was completely flopped over and it now looks terrific. I think it took about 10 days to fix. -
Grooming A Brittany For Show - Please Help!
Clyde replied to Sabrina et BeBe's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
You sound like me. I've been grooming 11 years and do a mean pet clip, but I go to jelly if anyone mentions they show their dog Arm yourself with a good book and have the client bring in some pics of the look she wants. I recently had a forum member do this with their show dog and it helped enormously, hers was a more coated/styled breed though. Perhaps offer to do it together. This way you can do no wrong as the client will be with you. Good luck! -
Ditch the Frontline. Capstar daily with ADVANTAGE as the top spot. Be careful what shampoo you use as some strip out the top spots

I would find that insulting and as though I'd been slapped in the face. Best not paying anything at all if $100 is all that is on offer. I agree with the gift idea though, a case of wine or something. Gee Clyde, how on earth did I know that of all the responses MINE would be the one you'd have to disagree with the most strenuously! Um, probably because I really don't agree with what you have said - makes no difference to me who types the words, it's what the words are saying. You're a bit touchy aren't you?

You can send them to Nicestman, he sharpens all of my stuff

I agree.

I don't think Frontline is an OP, it is Fipronil.

Happy Birthday Ivan - great photos
