  1. I used Proban last year for ticks and fleas and found it was at least two weeks before it started working for the fleas. I would worry that the Proban won't have reached full efficacy within one week. I would apply Advantix on Saturday and just check daily. I am in a high tick area and Advantix seems to work well. Little buggers are definitely about. I've just been out in the garden and Wilma the puppy came towards me with one crawling around on her head.
  2. At 7 yrs old, this dog will still cock his leg if that's what he has always done. By now it is learned behaviour. Hope he recovers well RottyLover. The only thing to bring me to desex a male at that age is the smell of their urine, otherwise I probably wouldn't have done it. Each to their own, your boy won't miss his testicles - but it sounds like you will
  3. I saw you post this in another thread, it's a very sweeping generalistion. Not all entire males are sexually frustrated, it depends on the individual dog.
  4. Beautiful and much loved doggies
  5. Ellz those brushes are fab, I have about ten of them for work. I got them (a different brand though) a couple of years ago and haven't looked back. I am still amazed at how the matts just fall apart. For people not used to them they need to be aware that they need a lighter hand than even a regular slicker.
  6. Why would anyone want to? Cosmolo was only asking so she could recommend someone to help you.
  7. No need to be embarrassed at any groomers, I am sure we've all seen a lot worse! Do you know how to splice the matts?
  8. If I had to choose between the two I would choose the 2nd one. If you are only clipping once a year then I would just take him to a groomer. Depending on whereabouts in Sydney you are, it will be around $65? or less
  9. Sending you Hugs Griff, I know how special she was to you
  10. Steve Austins brain child. I hope it's a success for all involved
  11. I find Aloveen works better than Epi Soothe. It's available from most vets and at numerous online places. You can buy Aloveen Leave In Conditioner which works well as a follow up to the shampoo.
  12. So I've heard The dam of my girls sire, is from Dolly's breeder.
  13. I'm not a blue fan myself (with any breed), but I think calling them 'vermin' is a bit harsh, especially when quite a few people on here have them as loving companions.
  14. It's not a paralysis tick, going by your description.
  15. I wouldn't even contemplate going to a vet who only did walk ins. Definitely appointment only (with the exception of emergencies)
  16. Awww, they're so sweet together - it's like a love story. Congrats!
  17. Be very precise that you don't want anything done. They might take it on themselves to trim her beard for you
  18. I agree. I would be very careful about letting just any groomer clip your dog. It's a very precise style IMO and needs experience. I have seen some shocking Schnauzer clips
  19. She's gorgeous, I love the shot of her with your beautiful girls. That's what having a pet should be all about
  20. Esme has been stung by bees a couple of times. Each time I took her to the vet as I was so worried it would affect her breathing. I hope she is okay
  21. I would hold off on the top spots while you are washing frequently with Malaseb. After each wash I would rinse the dog with Permoxin. I would also treat the area, bomb your car and so on. Once the Malaseb washes finish I would continue with the top spot each fortnight until summer ends.
