Im sure he wont make it another 2 weeks, we only did 6 weeks rest but even then after 4 weeks we did very short walks. I often wonder if thats why he healed so well coz with people the new research for ortho issues shows that movement aids healing. First time as a kid i hurt my ankle they made me rest totally. In 2007 when i did the same thing they strapped me up real good and made me walk on the ankle... It came good better the second time

Yeah I know it does MG and everything I have read tells me she should be doing more then she is but I have to trust the specialist and his recommendations for her based on her issues.

:( want to have a whinge - Kenz is three legged again tonight. She seems to have serious issues with getting on her dog bed in the evening and having the leg give way underneath her. Specialist isn't worried but geez its hard to not stress about it. I hate seeing her like this and it just sucks :(. She is dead to the world in her crate now :(.

oh no Ness, that would be hard to watch. At least the specialist thinks it is ok, and somewhat normal for this point in recovery. But still....

I am not really convinced its normal I am just convinced he is trying to not make me stress out to much :o. But she has done nothing that should have interfered with the surgery so I guess thats why the specialist is pretty confident all is still fine.

Ness I think I would be using another bed until Friday when you see the specialist again.

I had a breeder from Brisbane come and stay to help me assess and decide which pup was staying. I changed my mind many times and in the end went back to why I did the breeding, which was to get my next obedience dog - so I picked the puppy that did everything at break neck speed over the boy who was the best put together. Time will tell whether it was the correct decision or not.

So the little girl I kept is called Nina and her name will be Ptolomy Nannas Little Treasure (pending approval)

I can't tell you how hard it was dropping the boy at the airport this morning to fly to Adelaide - Gulp crying.gif yep plenty of them

Oh Ptolomy, big hugs, it must be a very proud but sad moment :grouphug: Where is the 3rd one off to? Nina is a lovely name :)

Ness how's kenz doing now?

Sorry you are poorly ST, hope it settles down soon for you :)

Daisy did ok at the scan on Friday, basically we don't need to be too concerned at the moment, just carry on as normal and monitor the heart whenever she goes to the vet :)

Hey guys - long time again, since Ive been in here.....seems I spend all my time on Facebook, and then run out of time to head i here!!

Sorry about all the broken dogs :( .....not fair at all, hoping they are all on the mend asap!!

All you sick humans get better soon too!! Guess its that fluey time of year though.....

As usual not alot has been happening in my doggy life - took our girls to an agility session the other week, Zola the BRD absolutely loved it - especially the tunnels & chute  , she was proud of herself, I was proud of her. Couldnt have asked for any more from her....And little Wandy had a ball too! By her third time through the weaving poles she was doing the bouncy, jumpy front leg thing!!!

Hope to have another go next month.

And yesterday we went to a Sheepdog Clinic - Loved it :) :) We only watched, but learned so much about sheep behaviour, where dogs need to be and where we need to be!!!

Kenz seems to have decided to put herself in her crate upstairs in the evening rather than the cuddler bed and has avoided the incident happening again (least the last 3 nights) so far but I do tend to agree with you Ptolomy. Better to avoid the problem then have it surface until she has been back to see the specialist. It still makes no sense. She is actually avoiding the bed during the day as well mostly now, preferring to take herself into the crate. Maybe she knows something I don't.

Back to work today, the rain felt like warm tropical showers compared to Sydney  I'll never say it's cold in Perth again!!

Still on cloud 9 about the agility nationals, wow what a blast and the best I'd hoped for was to make a final, but my Trixie-bean made both and then won the Excellent Jumping 400 height! My crazy terrier is a national champ!!! I didn't think we'd have a chance against a field of 18 border collies, shelties, and other great dogs!

She also got her JDX title over there with a pass to spare. I'm just so so proud of how well she handled everything and how well she coped with the travel and everything.

Wow what a trip, sad it's over now!
