  1. I saw a pretty wide fence on Deals Direct last night. http://www.dealsdirect.com.au/p/97-171cm-freestanding-extendible-wooden-pet-barrier/
  2. Try a really loud noise to distract them from the nutty running. Saucepan lids banged together, that sort of thing. Then teach the alternative behavior. I have to lol a bit as I have a really strong visual of what they are doing!
  3. I have been using a product called Pediasure (Vanilla) for my sick dog. It is similar to Ensure but for children. It is available in Chemist Warehouse in the formula section.
  4. No idea if these are any good but I noticed them during the recent Clean Run frenzy. http://www.cleanrun.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=product.display&Product_ID=1300&ParentCat=549
  5. How about trying a 'go to your bed and get a treat' thing? So start off telling them to go to their beds and giving them a treat and cuddle. I would make this very exciting and high energy. Hopefully after a short time they will anticipate the command and just run to their beds for treats and cuddles.
  6. Nice I wonder if they are sitting in their office thinking that Aussies are a little bit nuts with all these orders
  7. You could get a bile test done. It doesn't sound like your vet is too worried about the ALT levels or they would be doing other tests.
  8. You could look at your local clubs too I go to Croydon, both the agility and obedience triallers are a really nice bunch of people.
  9. I'm in the Yarra Valley and normally train at Nyora (http://www.herdingtraining.com). Paul McPhail is doing some training in Wantirna now too (http://belokakelpies.com/city-slicker-dog-school).
  10. A I was washing the dogs the other day I thought it would be good if the bath could be turned into a grooming table. So maybe both long sides could be removable.
  11. True!! I had hysterics when I lost my first border collie at 15yo and his slightly younger friend looked like she wanted to go too. So I know how you feel. I got a puppy and that perked Fern up enough for her to live for another 3 years.
  12. Just wanted to say sorry about your doggies Aidan2 The seeking out of cat food is something that I have noticed in my dogs that have felt very poorly. I think because it has a stronger smell.
  13. Maybe it is me that needs to take something then, lol! I tend to stress out if I think the dogs are poorly. The actual season is more likely to cause issues for her with her cleaning herself. The blood can cause fits. Might have to use pants next time. ETA: I feel bad too because I can't desex her. The specialist said it was too dangerous though.
  14. She eats bugger all as it is and I can't exercise her heaps.
  15. Probably doubtful I can give her anything chemical. Can't even give her wormers or vaccinations. Just had a google and both those substances can cause liver issues in healthy animals.
  16. Looks like Amber is going to have a phantom pregnancy after each season. I can't de-sex her due to her liver problem. Has anyone had any success with herbal treatments? She currently has big boobies, is sooky and is nesting. Someone asked me if she had just had pups on the weekend! Poor little thing. Is there anything I can do for her?
  17. For people with the bigger cups could you buy some thicker pipe here and just slip over the smaller weave poles and then attach the cups?
  18. I like cats. I don't particularly enjoy having indoor cats. I am allergic to my 2 current cats, never really had an allergy problem with cats before. I think they are beautiful creatures but they drive me bonkers.
  19. Hugs Jessca. Thanks for thinking about us. Amber is going pretty well. She has put a fair bit of weight on and appears 'normal'. It is taking pretty careful management and I have to adjust her food and medication depending on what is happening with her. Pretty amazing how well a dog can cope with half a liver that isn't working properly!
  20. I find my soft crates cooler than the outside temp. I use the k9 Soft crates though and the roofs are insulated. I guess the cheaper ones look the same but don't function the same. The soft crates look nicer in the house I think. But the wire crates are easier to clean if the dog has an accident in them. The dogs don't seem to have a preference over either type of crate.
  21. Yikes that is likely to happen to me! Currently have 3 beds on my order. What did you have in your order LP?
  22. Glad you had a good time! Nothing exhausts a border collie like sheepies!
  23. Amber is too sick for the homemade diet. She is on Hills L/D tinned and dry.
  24. donatella I know you are feeling touchy about this subject after your dog but this is a different situation. The dog's leg was matted. The groomer possibly couldn't have done anything else so it wouldn't have mattered if it was a show dog. You can't show a matted dog. Gayle sounds like hair was only supposed to be left on the bottom of the legs so the top would have been clipped anyhow.
