Now THAT is a grooming Disaster! Agree!

Gayle go outside with all the other dogs and start having a super good game with them, loud with lots of quick fun stuff. That is how I used to encourage escapees to show me how they were doing it.

"single Parent" Dolers - How Many Dogs Do You Have?JulesP replied to Simply Grand's topic in General Dog Discussion Well I have gone from 4 to 3 and then 2 dogs. There are pros and cons to any amount. I did feel a bit like a zoo keeper at one time as I had ponies as well. Do you rent? Housing is an important issue I think. I feel more relaxed having the 2 dogs with council issues. I know I have a better chance of getting a rental if needed too.

It's called being a customer and paying for a service. When you don't get what you ask for you are well within your right to whinge to your hearts content. Bet you don't take that attitude when it comes to your money and your customer satisfaction issues. To all the groomers that are honest with a client from the beginning (telling them upfront it needs to be shaved or refusing to clip) and listening to their clients are worth their weight in gold. Can't say I've ever whinged at the hairdressers when I didn't get what I asked for. I did complain when my neck got burnt during a process. Having your dog's legs clipped is hardly a 'disaster'. We also are not party to the entire 20 min convo. It would be interesting to hear what the groomer's view is.
-
The dog was supposed to be clipped. Just not its legs. This was a no win situation for the groomer. They had the option of clipping the legs off, clipping one off or leaving the leg matted. Another thread that makes me glad I am not a groomer anymore!

Poppy likes to greet me with a present when I get home. She will pick up the nearest available object, so it can be a leaf or pebble. The weird thing is she doesn't play with toys or chase balls etc. She goes and gets me a present if I fill up her water bowl too.

FFS I am sitting here with my hair way shorter than the 1 inch I discussed with the hairdresser! Anyone sign a consent form at the hairdressers? You just suck it up and know that your hair will grow. And I paid a shitload more then I ever charged as a groomer. And I don't have fleas and don't bite! Unless your dog is actually injured by the groomer stop all this whinging.

	Anyone tried the cool mats?

A bit vague AD!! If the dogs were breaking down due to a faulty structure then I would be avoiding that breeder. Regardless of how quick they ran. If the breeder had lots of health issues I would be going mmmmmmmmm and investigating further. It would need to be over 3 dogs breed that had problems before I started to question. One dog having issues wouldn't worry me.

The stupids can still be stupid on lead. Whilst walking both of mine on lead the other day I didn't like the body language of an approaching dog so I very obviously veered out of the way. The stupid then proceeded to move towards me asking if they could say ok. Their dog's hackles were up at this stage! As the article says if someone is trying to give their dog space and obviously moving away don't frigging follow them! In total contrast was the guy this week with 2 huskies. He actually thanked me when I got mine off the path and sitting. Not one of his or my dogs looked even remotely like causing trouble but I would rather avoid incidents.

How about this one - http://www.mavlab.com.au/index.php?page=shop.product_details&flypage=flypage.tpl&product_id=167&category_id=44&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=66 It is a little, unheated, single tank bath
-
The main reason I got a bath was because I was having trouble getting a plumber to install an outside hot tap. A couple laughed at me on the phone and the quote I did get was the price of a bath anyhow.

Poor little Staffy trying to save his dad
-
My main angst with my bath is that it takes too long to heat the water up. Washing a couple of dogs in a row is painful as the water doesn't heat up straight away after rinsing the previous dog. Also had this issue (not as bad) with my professional bath that I had when I was a groomer. So instant hot water would be good. My bath is a little high for me too. I found the booster bath more comfortable for me to use physically.

The tips weren't aimed at you Murve

Nice to meet you too Murve! My tips from yesterday's stewarding - proof your dog to someone wearing gloves for the stand for exam. If you want to leave before the stays, tell the judge not the steward.

Wow that is brilliant TSD! Well done

That is a pretty bad attack

About 5 times a day. Amber has to have tiny, frequent meals for her liver condition.

I think if you want to improve your running then you need to be running. I was fairly fit with walking but couldn't run. I've been doing interval sprints and similar training which has really helped my running.

Just heard on the radio that the dogs attacked the people's dogs whilst they were out walking and that the people got hurt trying to help their dogs.

It would be in Troy's interests to let people read this so they realise the consequences of defamation. Note that it is up to the defendant to prove that the words were true. It isn't up to the plaintive to prove the words were not true. So 'someone told me that blah blah blah' would be hard to prove to be true.

Excited Dog - When Getting To Obedience TrainingJulesP replied to izzydog's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports I love it that my dogs get so excited about getting to dog school. Mine only carry on for about 5 mins too. It would be different if they were silly for the entire time we were down there. Poppy squeals her head off! They don't pull though as pulling is never allowed. Rather than just stopping and waiting for focus (which is a good method) try turning and actually walking away from school. Every time she pulls turn and walk away. She can only approach what she wants (school) if she is not pulling. You might not get to class for a while! Depends on how smart she is. I think that is the key though. People just think damn it I have to get to x so they allow the pulling so they get there. I never allow pulling, ever. But I am happy for mine to squeal and bounce around like twits when we arrive as long as no pulling occurs!

Mmmmm I have my cart sitting waiting mainly stuff I don't really need and I think I need a grooming table! Decisions decisions...

Tips On How To Remove Dog Hair From The CarJulesP replied to Huntia's topic in General Dog Discussion I had mine cleaned at one of those car hand wash places, they got every single dog hair out of the car. Very impressive.
