  1. The puppy looks like the Natures Gift Export. Natures Gift Australia don't sell this product. I wonder if the Adult formula is the Feed Rite.
  2. mmmm maybe this mob - http://www.apfe.com.au/index.html
  3. It would appear that this product is being sold by quite a few different companies. I found some today in a shop and when I inquired I was told that the company that sold it is Hungry Hound. I was told it was made in the same factory as Natures Gift. This would probably be true as the Cat Holistic is exactly the same as the Nature's Gift Cat kibble. It is fairly obvious that it is some other product bagged up differently. What that product is, I don't know. I've got quite different stories about it too. Very curious.
  4. Oh dear that wasn't nice for you PoppyDog. When I was a groomer and now as an instructor I keep my mouth shut when someone turns up with an oodle. I only say something if they ask why their 'non-moulting' dog is dropping hair like crazy or something of that nature. No point giving someone crap when it is too late.
  5. I've been wanting to try a particular horse product on the dogs and this thread inspired me to go and buy some. It is called PHP Top Tails. Not cheap at $28. Got it from Horseland. Smells absolutely divine! Did a good job on the BC tails. Poppy normally carries on about tail brushing but was a good girl so less pulling was obviously happening. I used it on my curly hair too
  6. Yeah I didn't want to do clipping but that is all I ended up doing. Clipping off matted, filthy, little white fluffies, shaving a lot of the time. I did it for a year, was ready to kill clients, so sold it. I started mine from scratch.
  7. Just remembered why I don't get the pet mince from my butchers - they never bloody have any!!!
  8. I got some mince the other day from a pet place and they insisted that it didn't have preservatives in it. Going by the colour I am not sure I believe them! My butcher also does the pet mince stuff, which I would say is mainly chicken stuff going by the colour, it is also heaps cheaper. I prefer my dog's meat on the bone though and only feed mince occasionally. The lamp flaps from Safeway are the dogs favorite.
  9. Biopet is sold in supermarkets. Coles I think. I don't like that they don't say what animal protein it is and would prefer the meat to be the first ingredient.
  10. Psst Baxter - you did on the 'Fav dog food thread'
  11. Oh no. I so loved your stories about Jake. Many hugs to you and your family. What a horrible run of bad luck you have had.
  12. Horses groom themselves and have very sensitive skin so think you will be ok with a horse product. I am using Plush Puppy OMG but don't love it. Think I need a cream rather than a spray.
  13. There is a big Nutro thread at the moment if you want to see what some of us are saying about it I would call Nutro 'premium'.
  14. No worries. I guess they have now named it due to people being a bit antsy about the lack of a name.
  15. Yeah hate to say it but I agree with ReadySetGo. I wish there were dogs & owners only places I have had similar experiences at the river I go to. There are lots of dogs happily off lead but you also get some people strolling in very smart clothes! And some people sitting on the ground having picnics. These usually act with horror at the sight of our wet, muddy hounds. I would be more relaxed if it was just dog folks.
  16. Looks like what we are now calling 'Black Hawk' dog food. When I first got it was called Holistic Lamb & Rice and was in a plain white bag. There are a couple of threads on here about it.
  17. Some BC are really, really soft Kirty. My current pup is super submissive. She is probably the best and most socialized of all my dogs. She can however look like someone has beaten the crap out of her! I am currently trying to work out if she is playing me with it. I certainly didn't do the TOT that I normally do with her as I found that really hard to do when she was squirming on the floor and going belly up at a simple wait command. She isn't submissive with other dogs. None of mine have been but I had a pup in my last class that went belly up a lot during the meet & greets. These dogs are quite tricky to train as they tend to take it very personally if they make a mistake. On the flip side you usually get intense devotion and focus on their special person.
  18. Congrats on your pass Sue & Cindy TSD maybe it was just the day for it? Amber went crap, Poppy went crap and I ended up in a pretty bad mood. Interestingly I had a really bad sleep on Saturday night too, damn insomnia. If it hadn't been for some nice comments on how well my last puppy class performed in their new class I would have gone home and retired!
  19. No help either. Same problem here but I can't even go into the trial practice ring at club! Had a horrible run through today. Very depressed.
  20. In herding they are supposed to move off 'square' before circling. If the dog has a lot of distance, which it should have, then they will be doing a fairly straight line for a while. The principal to teach would be the same. Make the dog go in the direction and then name it. I thought you wanted different ideas
