If you are looking for a dog related business have a think about training to be a chiro or something similar. There don't seem to be a heap of people around trained in this field.

At least she reacted! None of my border collies have which makes it very hard to work out what is wrong. One of them didn't even react to a broken leg and dislocating patella! You should be able to xray a foot without a GA. I know you can see arthritis on a horse xray so assume you can on a dogs.

This was the one I was looking at - http://www.cleanrun.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=product.display&Product_ID=2996&ParentCat=550

Cool, other border collie people looking at coats! I thought I was being a bit silly thinking that rain coats would be good!

No not all big dogs are bad but I would rather have a snarling mini poodle running at me then a snarling big dog.

How's everyone going? Both dogs went well at school today, very pleased with them. Amber continues to be very enthusiastic about training. I took her around a rally course and she is lovely to work with as she is so flexible and bouncy. Her stand for exam is coming very slowly. She is a nervy little critter and unfortunately got sick whilst I was originally teaching it to her and all the vet poking and prodings she had have made her quite wary about people touching her. She is never going to like it but I am aiming for tolerance.

Need Ideas For Keeping My Girl Warm

What about something like a memory foam bed? That might retain some heat. I've read about people complaining that memory foam mattresses have been too hot. -

Maybe some training with a coat then. Put her on lead, put the coat on and feed her treats and tell her how pretty she looks! My dogs have always been a bit WTF about coats at first but end up loving them. -

Yeah I would be trying a coat on her. -
My border ripped one of the K9 soft crates and they are very well made. She ripped the canvas not the mesh. So even the really good ones will rip.

It wasn't degloved. The nose was bitten off.

How are you feeling today Alyosha? It is pretty scary being attacked.

A shop called The Complete Garden. I need to work out an indoors dog room as the dogs have now kept me awake for 2 nights now as I have them sleeping in the laundry room as their room isn't heated. They are making noise on the wooden floorboards in there.

One reason I purchased this house was because of the 'dog room'! It would have been just a veranda at one stage and has had walls added. The roof is still laser light. It is fairly large. The dogs slept out there all summer but I will have them inside during winter. They have beds, a crate and their feed tins in there. The room looks into the laundry and the family room, so they can see inside the house when in there. I like having somewhere safe to lock them up too.

Should have given this to you yesterday! Dr Georgia Davis www.optimalchiro.com.au/animal/index.html Ta!

Any recommendations for chiropractors around Melbourne?

Looking at the size of the gap and the size of the attacking dog I would be surprised if it had got its nose outside of the fence. I would say the poodle did stick its nose in.

Help Training Stand From A Sit Or Down
JulesP replied to Sparden's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
Make sure you keep the lure on the dogs nose. People often try and move the lure too fast. You might need to physically walk a step back too, the handlers movement often helps unstick a dog. Lots of verbal praise too as he thinks about moving. -
Sounds like it wasn't just a degloving. The whole nose was bitten off.

Really depends on the dog. Poppy never did a nice flip. Amber is super bouncy and does lovely ones.

It is for one of those weird things were you think one minute the dog is fine and then the next they aren't right. No lameness usually but difficultly getting up from a sit. Sometimes walking wide behind, sometimes not wanting to jump in the car. Glucosamine is having a positive effect so could be arthritis (vet agrees). Dog is dipping when you feel her back but it doesn't seem to be painful as if you then massage the spot hard she loves it. Vet doesn't want to xray. Sure they would if I insisted but they aren't saying to do it. People are suggesting going to see a greyhound chiro.

For a dog with good heeling it isn't really an issue. It is more teaching the handler what the signs mean and the various quirks to rally! Some of the signs are performed in front of the sign (change of direction) and some are done next to the sign and a couple can be done after!

No worries Tassie :) Nice to see everyone is still around. It is pretty funny watching the agility dogs have a go at Rally, especially over the jump! Poppy loves it because I can talk to her. I love that I don't have to worry about stays and her eating other dogs! She did do perfect stays though yesterday so I think the rally and dog walking is helping her. Amber is super bouncy to train. Lots of anticipation! She isn't so fussed about pleasing me but is very food driven. Hope Waldo is feeling better soon Sue.
