  1. Fairly sure my friend has double doors in her Xtrail and they are equal size.
  2. It doesn't feel like a sacrifice. I haven't been away on hols for over 15 years! I had horses and cats too which made it really hard. Now I am worried about Amber as she needs constant monitoring with medication adjusted. Part of the reason that I moved to a cheaper house was so that I wouldn't be stressed about big vet bills and having to make decisions for financial reasons only. Knocked back a couple of houses that I didn't consider to be dog friendly. I take the dogs to dog school every Sunday morning even when I would rather stay in bed. The know it is Sunday and glare at me I don't like going out on Saturday nights because of dog school, not such an issue now I am getting older but was a bit of an issue when I was younger.
  3. That is not being said. A couple of posters have suggested that experts be brought in to examine the dogs, where they lived, what sort of environment (physical and emotional) that they lived in, and then do autopsies on the dogs. Experts might be involved. I certainly know that one at least was involved in the Ayen Chol case. Don't think it was reported on the TV but I work with her hubby.
  4. You have to pass Basic 2 before you can go into Croydon's socialisation classes. I've been going there for over 15 years btw and have never been attacked by an off lead dog.
  5. Thank you. I am more after a rain coat. Elsie looks great in hers!
  6. Do you have these coats? They are the ones I was looking at. Are they water proof? I asked Clean Run but got a rather confusing reply back. I don't want them to be too warm either.
  7. That's what I saw as well on the packet when I looked at it the other day. I found it a bit misleading. 50% meat doesn't = 50% protein. Meat isn't all protein matter. i.e. 100grams of chicken may only contain 30g of protein.
  8. Does it say that the Applaws is made in Australia? It is a UK company. I've used the tinned cat food and it seemed pretty good.
  9. One Man and His Dog is a UK show that is great. http://www.fishpond.com.au/Movies/30-Years-of-One-Man-and-His-Dog/5036193094699?utm_source=googleps&utm_medium=ps&utm_campaign=AU&gclid=CKTOoOWkmrcCFUhJpgodv3QAQw
  10. Hope Zig feels better soon.
  11. Maybe it is just doing some training after all anyone can train, they just can not enter ANKC tests and trials. The person insisted that the poodle was competing officially. Weird. I only just read this. There are no poodles competing in ANKC trials in NSW and I haven't seen one at training - though I haven't been to evey training day. There was a joke going round where we called a shaved almost totally black working BC a labradoodle. The dog is a purebred standard poodle. Think it is shown too as she said something about it herding in its show clip.
  12. All my border collies have been calm (most of the time!), my beautiful Brock did take calmness to a new level though.
  13. Only stopped pro biotic last week cause I ran out, didn't think that would affect the skin issue.... Tried some dermaid cream on the spots today seems to have eased it off a bit and taken out some of the redness. Any recommendations on anti fungal cream? I use canesten anti-fungal cream on my pups I was thinking anything like this. It normally acts pretty quickly so you could rule out a fungal issue quite quickly. Sometimes how the spot reacts to creams can help you work out what the problem is.
  14. You said that you were feeding a probiotic but aren't now. Is that right? If you aren't try feeding it again and see what happens. If you have any anti fungal cream in the house stick some of that on and see what happens.
  15. If she thinks they are a bit big go for a bitch. They are usually a fair bit smaller. We may have that option as there is a blue bitch that just came back on availability, we will see :) Exciting! Good luck!
  16. You could look at the Natures Gift kibble. It is a semi moist kibble. It does have some wheat in it to bind the kibble together. I like the Purina One kibble. My dogs have always done well on it. Can only find the small dog variety at the moment which is weird. Had no issues with VIP but reckon coats are a bit better on Purina One. There is a kibble in Coles too that isn't too bad. One of their lines. Can't remember the name.
  17. If she thinks they are a bit big go for a bitch. They are usually a fair bit smaller.
  18. They are clever adverts. People talk about them which puts the name 'jeep' into people's brains/memories. Next time you think about buying a SUV maybe you will also consider a jeep when you might not have before.
  19. Amber's stand for exam is coming along. She isn't thrilled about it though. Need to work on her call front as she has such a strong heel position she isn't thrilled about coming to front. I might not have done much of that sort of work when she was a pup actually as she has always had a great recall, so I probably didn't build it up like I would normally have by doing lots of fronts. Poppy did happy rally work and fun!
  20. I thought I would update. Poppy went to see a chiro 2 weeks ago. He found a fair few issues. I saw a noticeable improvement immediately and a gradual improvement since. She has to go back in 2 weeks for another go. Pleased with how it went.
  21. My fav crates are the k9+ crates. You can normally get them cheaper on Ebay.
  22. As I explained in my initial query, I often don't feed food that can have power easily added to it and as a consequence I find I forget to give powders regularly. The dog I am considering it for is extremely easy to give tablets/capsules too, however I'd still not do it if it was 15-20 daily (although 5 seems more likely). Personally I'd prefer to get all the powder joint products as a capsule. You can buy empty capsules. I reckon 5 capsules would be a pain to give to a dog though. I've adjusted Poppy's night meal to softer stuff so I can give her powders.
  23. My thoughts on this are - check there isn't a medical condition. Amber was fussy from a pup. I used to whinge a bit about it and join in discussions on here. People would say to take her food away after 10 mins and that she wouldn't starve herself. When all the time the poor pup wasn't well. Had the same thing with a cat. Just thought he was just fussy, nope sick.
  24. I've got the PacSac ones. Can't see them on Clean Run now. They are a bit thin but big enough to double over for a BC. I use them in the house because they fold up small when not in use.
