  1. These puppies are going to have lots of aunties & uncles waiting for their birth next week
  2. So glad to hear that the girls are back home Perhpas someone can change the topic heading to "Found" ? so that people know at a glance that they have been located?
  3. Fingers crossed that these girls are found soon and back home healthy & happy.
  4. My friend lost her 12 month old sheltie girl to paralysis tick in early August. She is in Port Macquarie - her vet had had three cases that week alone.
  5. Yes, the dull stuff is probably the old puppy coat. How quickly they go from being a pup to an adult You will probably find some undercoat will come out as well.
  6. I am afraid I would be making it a rule that pup is not picked up for cuddles. That all cuddles are given while sitting on the floor or on a chair. Justt keep an eye on pup but sounds like it is OK.
  7. Will be out there tomorrow showing so will try and get down to see Xolo and her crew. Am very interested to see them in the "flesh".
  8. Three all breeds shows on the tope rings and GSD specialty show down on GSD rings. Katdog- try and locate a DOLer, then you can leave your chairs, have a look around and then come back, sit down and watch some of rings being judged.
  9. One of mine is scared of the "plastic bag monster" ;) No idea why - has never had anything done to him but shake a bag & he is gone Nothing else phases him from large crowds to big noises but don't let that baggy near him
  10. No, have never had any of my girls go off their food before or during a season. Have you checked her throat? She may be suffering from tonsilitis which would stop her from eating her kibble? Hope she starts to eat again soon
  11. I would make sure my laundry is a good size to instal a bigger laundry tub than I have now to be able to bath the dogs in comfort. Sounds like you have a good idea of what you want.
  12. My male sheltie is the same. He is the most loving sheltie to anyone - always ready for a cuddle but with baby puppies? Noooo way. Once my litter was up and out last year, he would be up on the lounge out of the way. If he was lying on the floor & they approached, he would lift his lip and then snap at them. Of course, they all thought it was a lovely game Once the pup I kept got a little older, he was more interested in playing. I think they scare them a little and we all know baby puppy teeth are sharp. Twelve months on and he plays chasings, rumbles etc but if lying on the lounge, likes to be there in peace. Of course, the young one likes to push the button and will keep creeping forward(I am such a bad mum and sit there laughing to myself). Poor boy can get such a look of disgust. Am sure your boy will come around as the pup gets a little older and learns her place.
  13. I sent one of the girls to Grandma & Grandpa's for a holiday and then my oldest girl came in a few days later. Thank goodness my boy is pretty well behaved and doesn't howl or sook. I didn't think they would appreciate two girls over there. I could send him but he is a bit of a mummy's boy plus I have had shows to do as well.
  14. zzzTop, what about giving the pups some beef liver drops? Am sure the recipe is tagged in this sub forum? Would be keeping the room as warm as you can make it.
  15. So sorry for your loss - am sure both Whitey & Gypsy are together & will keep watch over your family.
  16. Yes they are still open.
  17. My three sleep in theirs under the family room window. There are two wire crates and one small trolley. They love their beds and usually tell me when they want to go to bed at night (or maybe it is the biscuit they get ;) )
  18. I would also suggest that you join the Staffordshire Bull Terrier Club of NSW and go along to their specialty shows and club meetings.
  19. Oh Jacq so sorry to hear this. What a beautiful life she had with you, Sean and William. She certainly gave her love to a lot of lost puppies over the years. Lovely memories to cherish and I am sure she is still there with you all in spirit.
  20. Just love all of the photos. Keep em coming - lovely to see Ralph too.
  21. Meea - have pm'd you with Peter's phone number.
  22. I don't think he is working at the moment as he had to have a knee operation and won't be working for six weeks. Am sure I read this on Ozshow list.
  23. So sorry for your loss, Jules You might have to do a thorough check of your back yard when it gets light - could someone have thrown snail bait over the fence?
  24. Fordogs - I also put a sheet along the puppy pen to stop any draughts from reaching the whelping box. Also gives the bitch a bit of privacy as well
