  1. basket muzzles- the cheaper ones are made of a stiffer sort of plastic ..and need to be fitted, IMO so they don't rub on cheekbones. I still am using my original Italian made one ..with a leather strap..and a more pliable plastic in teh basket . It is now around 8 years old ..and was at one stage worn almost continuously for months .... without any rubbing etc .
  2. can you maybe give her gut a rest for 24 hrs? Plenty to drink, obviously ..but let things settle ? Are you able to phone a vet who knows her ? I'm sorry you have your life turned around - take care .
  3. That muzzle is very constricting ..also anti - pant /open mouth at all .... maybe OK for a few minutes .. but anxious dogs need to pant ..and this one one will not allow it , by the looks . have you looked at ones like these ? LINK LINK LINK
  4. The poor girl .. this is not life as it should be ...
  5. The first signs can be very subtle , and missed if no previous experience . Hope she is now well stocked up with goodies, and recovering well. :) I remember taking a seizing bitch 100 km to a vet , many years ago .... luckily she survived !
  6. Well, it seems there is soon to be a Koolie girl 'in the family' :) ..in a few weeks . I shall keep you posted, and special thanks to perry's mum
  7. thanks ..seems there is a koolie who may be well suited ;)
  8. LIST of Jap Spitz breeders if you are not a registered breeder , you may be interested to read some of the following :) LINK LINK LINK LINK
  9. I would also suggest you ask the breeder from whom you got your dog.
  10. LOL No biggies! Wouldn't fit in the car, for one thing ! . She was hoping to give a home to a rescue ,or some older dog no longer needed /wanted ... and she is very worried about syringiomyelia with the CKCS
  11. I thought of them , but haven't suggested as yet .. they have a coat :) man made :p
  12. She wants a dog who can be let free to run ..she has been to G A P adoption days , etc :)
  13. :D They seem like useful dogs!
  14. :) I have a post in rescue .. a coupleof good suggestions, but still looking - basically mature greyhound like temperament ..placid and happy to sleep inside while owner is at uni .... preferably something with some coat , and not brachy . good with little kids/dogs ( friend sometimes dog sits for her friends ) FEMALE unless an outstanding male match ;) must love snuggles & sleeping in a doublebed and/or couch ..and not be too energetic . must also enjoy beach and country walks . no fence jumping .. ADELAIDE inner suburbs .. normal fences on 2 sides ..buildings on other two :) Quite a lot of heavy traffic noise during day - dead quiet at night . (sounds very picky ) but no use chasing up prospectives & find they don't suit . Greys/bullbreeds/terriers need not apply ,sorry . friend lives alone .. uni/work from home . mature age person with lots of kid and dog friends, Raised last dog from puppy to 14 years . The right dog will be absolutely appreciated and loved a lot...have a yard just big enough to play fetch in ... and an old house with beanbags/beds etc ..a fire in winter, and a cool vine covered pergola thing in Summer . :) Oh, and have me as 'Auntie' ;)
  15. Oh :) Then I know Linton/Scarsdale Winters well ... Brrrrrrr . :)
  16. I have been/am helping a friend find a new dog . I am now very sad and despairing. yes, I have been perusing the ads/sites. Sooo many weird combinations , any old dog offered for stud duties , pups/dogs being sold as breeders touted as a certain way to make money ,and it seems way too many poor bull breeds being bred/sold/rehomed . I had no idea this was so wide spread ...and won't be doing any more looking .
  17. Mimi ... :) and a fashion model to boot!
