  1. k9angel, I will pray and pray and pray for her (not very good at it but I'll try). She is too beautiful for words. Baby steps but do get well little one. k9angel May your kindness be repaid 100000xtimes. (Note to those in charge: lotto win is a good reward!) Edit: Please let me know if you need $ for xrays/treatment/etc.
  2. Oh cathya I am so very sorry to hear the news. RIP beautiful boys. Have fun playing together in the forever-after green fields.

    So sorry RIP Henry
  4. I regularly get toys. It's a great welcome home pressie. They are really good, no socks, no panties, nothing verboten
  5. OMG T  I'm sure you have emptied all op shops in NSW. It looks like the boys will enjoy de-fluffing teddies pretty soon.
  6. How did you arrive at that? Nothing of the sort was said or implied.
  7. Lack of patience (sometimes) when dealing with hoomans :D
  8. Congrats They are awesome (and I am a big dog person at heart) No vacancy here with 3 dogs ... ahh Frodo is divine!
  9. Sure, things can always be improved and this applies to rescue too. But I think we should be a bit more compassionate and forgiving of people doing the rescue. Theirs is the emotional roller-coaster of joy and despair - no matter how seasoned one is in rescue. Dealing with human emotions is yet another challenge they face. I speak from only very little experience (~2 years). It was enough to make me understand and I will always have the greatest respect and admiration for those who rescue and foster.
  10. No, it does not. It makes me angry! People who do rescue are amazing. It takes a very special person to right the wrongs others have done.
  11. Let's look at the definition (dictionary.com): "a person who strives to associate with those of higher social status and who behaves condescendingly to others" I think the bolded part says it all.
  12. Thank you for the pics. He is beautiful. It's amazing isn't it? He does not seem to be stressed at all. It must be all the good things you are dishing out in abundance. Love, food and warm bed - he looks happy
  13. thundercat, we need photos... lots please. Lochi sounds totally divine. You are wonderful for giving this old gentleman a home. Thank you and happy forever after from all here.
  14. OMG, fatso 1 & fatso 2 There is more than just eyes, bones and skin. How wonderful!!!
  15. Congratulations I've been hoping for this post all day (hehe)
  16. Firstly, THANK YOU You have made the world a whole lot better for one smiley soul. Regarding arthritis management, there is a lot of information on DOL. We use Glyde and make sure that our Queen Bee wears her coat/pj's on cold days.
  17. As promised, today is my DD (donation done) day. Hope it helps. Gentle hugs to the lovely boys and thank you for updates :)
  18. Me too  I got them their own lounge but apparantly they took that as having a lounge each. Me three. I swear one of these days I'm going to kick the bully team off the lounge!
  19. ...And this is a perfect example why people who do rescue are the best. THANK YOU
  20. What about the "wait" command? They seem to understand that the reward (walk, treat) will come a bit later. It works for us. I take 2 for a walk together then come back and we go for a slow walk with the 3rd dog.
  21. Not sure why - its just different to what we are used to - its not so different to many other registries. No code of conduct for members and allowing them to breed how ever they want is also common including the AKC. Just because the ANKC do it one way doesnt mean its the only way. Agreed Steve. I was referring to this and hope that's not the case. They are fantastic dogs. Yarracully said: "ETA: the more I search around about this the worse it seems. No requirements to register a kennel name with the breed council. "Just register the name when you have your first litter of pups" (Taken from the American Bulldog National Breed Council forum I just found) No code of ethics, no minimum age for breeding, no restrictions on consecutive litters".
  22. Yarracully, such disappointing information
  23. I am watching this topic with interest. We've been on Sentinel Spectrum forever (application every month). Maybe I am doing the wrong thing? Maybe I am over-dosing my poor doglets? Hmmm...
