  1. The first breed listed is already here with a litter on the ground . Bolognese is also already here being shown
  2. I would doubt anyone has brought them into Australia as there an American breed. Great little dogs ,have seen them in the rings in the US Whilst they have health issue that study was 10 years ago based on stock pre then. DNA testing for EIC which affects other breeds in Australia is know available . Maybe consider the Nova Scotia Duck Toller or Field Spaniel ,if going working Cocker then like any breed pick a breeder who health tests & breeds for sound mined
  3. I would consider starting at $1500 plus each dog could be more . Too much to factor add vet costs, permits etc etc one place may charge more another not . Obviously will depend on when flights are opened up to Perth from NZ otherwise the quote will be different again with internal . You need to contact an agency to see how things stand at present & what the current backlog time is depending on when you are looking at coming back . A friend brought 2 dogs over a a few weeks back but the wait period & flight guarantees difficult & ended doing NZ to Qld ,Qld to WA . Simple answer not cheap
  4. His discomfort may be a result off the pain meds its on
  5. It’s an American site legit or not who knows but if legit pup can’t leave the US till 9 months and will cost $$$$ in transport and quarantine. Simply contact a breeder in Australia and put your name down then no dramas about a scam as you have done the work to talk to people . Contact the Rotti club in your state but I’m presuming your interest in that site was based on the prices listed
  6. I guess what you need to look at is if you decide to pursue the breeder for costs you may not get what you fully want . In this case if we sold a pup & something went wrong after purchase & the person contacted us we would get a second opinion .Why because too many vets do get it wrong & it can be an expensive wrong . We make it very clear in our puppy folder if anything weird crops up let us know. We have been there last year with a pup we sold & what a massive screw the puppy owners did . We received a very nasty email based on the vet telling them we breed an issue & they should pursue bigtime . Give the owners one moment of credit they did decide to email us before they did what there vet wanted . Got a second opinion & that vet was horrified at the complete incompetence & the attitude. The puppy owners forwarded all the tests,x rays to the vet picked ,that vet discussed the findings with there vet & just shock there head . Dog actually had no issue ,had a treatable issue the second opinion vet found & that was found to be due to something the owners mismanaged themselves . Short story pet owners paid big bucks for testing & extra testing based on there vet ,they no longer talk to us due to the aggressive method they picked informing us (most likely very embarrassed ) . There vet as a side note charge $1500 to spay a 6 kg dog which is OMG . So i think you need to do some serious deciding on the path you want to follow . Keep in mind if you ask for refund then generally you return the goods . Many breeders will refund the price & work with the no further costs if you want to keep the pup ,you truly need to start talking with the breeder . As you have found from replies on the post your vet is saying go big ,where those with experience work with go simple whilst still growing . In the end only you can decide
  7. Dogs will e press there glands if fearful, frightened or nervous ..
  8. Your breeder may feed something crappy BUT when the pup comes home it’s what it’s use to so you just slowly change ,your breeder may feed an awesome diet . Questions are great but how long is a piece of string is the diet answers . I have a breed that has a higher than normal cholesterol level ,highly predisposed to pancreatitis, the diet we recommend can be tweaked and changed BUT it’s based on not creating an issue .
  9. Puppy contracts are very common in Australia don’t know who told you they weren’t . Personally I wouldn’t have taken the puppy without discussing the issue ,yes you where told in poor form BUT you had the chance to say hang on a minute we need to think on this & certainly discuss it
  10. Agree go back to simple basics . Puppy pen and building her confidence about toileting .Make her space smaller and less overwhelming and build upwards. If you feel she’s doing it deliberately then your body language will come across as annoyed and frustrated . Your pup will be even more frustrated so go back to simple bed. Some cavies can be shy and that is where building her confidence is a must .
  11. Your breeder will be your person off knowledge and will tell you what it’s been feed, how many meals, current quantities after all there feeding the pup in question . Keep in mind you will get many confusing answers to you post . Some breeds diets can be more breed specific. If wanting to feed raw make sure you feed a correct balanced raw . Also keep in mind any diet transitions should be done slowly in case your puppy ends up with the runs . Do you know what the breeder feeds .? Talk to them after all if you feed something else when pup arrives home and it gets the runs or sick the first person you will call is the breeder so . Our diet is part of our puppy guarantee which is in the contract and we also have a section about requiring a change and informing us . We went with this path after puppy owners going on there own and getting it wrong . Most vets will sell what they stock and most vets aren’t savvy with breed diets relating to growth ,high cholesterol etc . Ask your breeder about diet now and go from there
  12. I still am weary off a vet that goes full OMG than saying not ideal but the jaw has lots of growing to do & hits you with the hefty, gonna cost you line.Did your vet discuss a referral to specialist dentist?? You wouldn't even consider any surgery until the jaw has grown i have seen bad bites go perfect in puppies & great bites go bad Your issue is you still brought the pup fully ware it had an issue as you where told ,i would have wanted it noted on the sales contract . What does the sales contract of the puppy state as for as a vet check at your expense within a set period.Did the puppy go with the free 6 week puppy insurance ?? What you want to also decide is it a parrot bite ,where are the incisors currently sitting inverted ??
  13. First off find a new vet ,any vet that makes those claims at this age is a worry and not a vet I would trust with my dog . Many puppies can have overbites and with the growing process rectify itself. Often surgery is not required ,talk about a dramatic vet. Would i be pissed with the breeder yes . im a breeder and anything like that would be discussed ,having said that bites change so quickly ( did the breeder say they new well in advance) We sold a pup last year perfect bite ,6 months it’s bite went ,total shock too us .We refunded the pup price . Has the issue been listed in the sales contract ..?
  14. Has the dog been tested for thyroid issues
  15. You didnt post in the breeder section you have posted in the general section where pet owners often ask for free advice or general pet questions and are simply pet owners who have never experienced litters . The Breeders section is where those with the potential knowledge are . At the end off the day known of us are vets ,able to see the pups infront of us ,the colour of the poo or the pups themselves . Only a vet could help you
  16. No papers and chances are not health tested for important Border Collie issues . The issue you have is you have to take the pedigree part on face value ,the pup may 100% be but without the papers there is no proof . Registered father could mean any registery to registered with the council but if the owner doesn't actually have the papers in there possession there have no real clue either . Depending on why you need the papers & that can be for very legit reasons you in this case wont be able to get any form off proof as to your pups actual parentage or history . Hopefully you discussed all this with the person with the puppies prior to committing & the breeder should have fully explained the pups have no paper trail as such that your simply buying the pup on face value & honesty
  17. Puppies have been in thousand bracket for many many years . This didn’t happen this year .
  18. The collar may be acting as a skin shedder when it rubs & wears . Dogs often with crazy spays coats have a good coat under there collar as the collar often rubs so does the work the owners dont
  19. DogsNSW can check if the litter has been processed . Take a step back from finger pointing and talk with the breeder again . The breeder could very well have done the litter and dogsNSW posted out and it’s lost l
  20. I think you need to take a step back and read your post from a breeders point of view of you wanting to buy a main registered animal . For me all I read is breeding ,breeding and breeding . In a world full of puppy farmers or just people wanting to bred it will not get you far . who are you doing the breeding modules with? What registry are you joining ? Why do you want to bred? What is your goal with breeding? Why did you email the breeders you did was it there lines, the colours, the testing they do ? Or did you just do the email everyone approach. What stud lined would you be looking at to complement the lines off the breeders you have contacted ? Are you planning to show ,How savvy are you in understanding the breed standard ? These are the questions you will get asked . These are the kind off things your puppy owners will ask and a lot more so when planning to be a breeder you need to have you future of all the whys, what for and building the relationship with those people you may need to use males from . We get emails weekly wanting a main registered animal to breed with . We thank them for being honest then when we ask more detail get told where to noisy . We are responsible for our pups and there future so if someone sends the I want to bred email compared to the great family home email we have to make decisions. We have sold dogs on mains BUT those people came to shows, asked lots of breed related questions ,we understood there pathway and they understood ours and we gave them great resources to read up,learn and be smart about there knowledge . We built up a understanding and then the right puppy was sold with all the support for them to be successful showing and potentially breeding . 1 continued the others ended up deciding it was all too hard . So you need to be honest but not sound so desperate that you just want a puppy with main papers and no thought about the lines, testing etc etc
  21. Yes its legal & nothing you can do . Cats ,birds, reptiles & if next to a sidewalk the drunk human will all pee not the end off the world water that area a little more often to wash it away . I would say dont let it become such an issue it consumes your day .if a dog decides to just wee there isn't much you can do about it .
  22. Tell the steward its your first show & that you are a true novice . Make sure your read the QLD paw prints & the covid show info for Qld regarding how many from a house hold can go & any requirements . You will be required to mouth your own dog
  23. No such thing as trust when it comes to money . But they will need to have it well documented what the sales contract was ,they would ideally have written a new contract that $500 was still owed & both parties agreed to a deal . Ideally they need something in written form ( payment receipts) anything that proves what they paid on what schedule to what point . This is why when selling a goods you are business like & professional for both sides . Chances are i doubt the "friend" did any off this . So there options send a letter outling what is still owed any decisions on payment plans needs to be clearly outlined on what is a due date After that a a legal letter & then small claims court . Some options may cost them more than the $500 .
  24. They do shed and a lot normally . there like Dalmatians and English Pointers hair for everyone all year . Its coat change season for many breeds so hair will be your new friend for awhile aka 24/7 . Just brush its coat regularly and not with a furminator or the likes they just screw the coats up and people over use them
  25. Source a doggy chiro or Bowen person . Dogs with muscle soreness can be flat, have the runs . I use Bowen on my dogs pups get done regular . Teething can also be a real struggle for some getting inflamed tonsils
