  1. What a lovely fella, Beautiful shots of your boy!! I loved your blog too, you are very talented. You might like to head over to the photo forum and have a look about. We usually have a different challenge every month if you would like to join in feel free!! Hope you have many happy years ahead with your boy!!
  2. Oh well fingers crossed here too, will be looking forward to meeting Scout on Sunday if you come to training, I hope the rain has eased up by then. Think I might bring the boys this week, I hope they love Scout!!
  3. That is just completely ridiculous, the poor pup hasn't even had time to settle into its new home. did you get any bad vibe about these people in the lead up to them taking the pup? I guess not otherwise you would have been reluctant to have them as new owners of your pup. My boy Bronsons brother went to an older couple and after 3 weeks they rang the breeder and asked if she would take him back (he cried a lot and never settled with them at night) which she was glad to do and rehomed him without a worry, at least they gave it a bit of time. Some people amaze me!! One night is not long enough for a pup to be settled in a new home what the hell did they expect?? Definatly good you got the pup back now rather than later!!
  4. Bub, beautiful shots!! Tez, I am sure that Scout and Jane will be a match made in heaven!! Will have to keep this thread bumped up so you can add some pics of the two of them playing!! Do you know what day you can get him yet??
  5. Judging by the number of views, it certainly got some eyeballs. That it did!!
  6. Thanks for all the comments, it is good to hear what others thought. I didn't even notice the E collar, I dont even know what one looks like?? Did anyone think when he put the dog in a stay outside the shop, that the dog broke the stay before the guy got back?? Was it just me or did the dog look somewhat nervous at times?? I also thought throwing the frisbee into the car park was silly. May be it was supposed to be some wort of advertising for the guys business??
  7. Hi Guys, I came across this video when I was checking out some training stuff on you tube. I can't decide if its ridiculous or fantastic. The dog is so well trained but all the traffic and I just kept thinking what if a cat ran across the road and caught the dogs attention? I guess the proof is in the video but I would think training a dog that close to traffic would be an accident just waiting to happen? Or is it a way to proof the dog to make it rock solid?? What do you guys think, Im curious to hear what others take on it is!! edited to add, some of the comments really shocked me!
  8. great shots, they looked like they were having a lot of fun with thier big smiley faces!!
  9. How old is your pup? 8 hours is a long time to expect a puppy to hold on, all of mine went in the middle of the night and occasionally twice a night for a month or so once they were home. Even now at nearly 3 one of mine still goes to the loo in the middle of the night. What does the bolded part of your post mean? Why would he smell bloody? do you mean he had anti biotics for the UTI?
  10. Love your shots Bec, your two look like a match made in heaven!!
  11. thanks Jules!! There is some lovely storys here, it's great how even the ones that initially don't get eventually come around!!
  12. Cosmolo, why do you think Gilbert has a LP, what signs has he displayed?
  13. And why stop at 3 Brons first days... King of the girlys!! Tully thought Brons toys look better than hers!! Moosepup, I especially love that second shot, looks like they are telling secrets!!
  14. So many great pics of Doggys with thier new friends/siblings Tez, you might not wanna stop at 2, Here is Tullys first day with us, "are you my big brother" and joining in the tug of war fun!!
  15. Thanks Jed, that explains it well. I have googled a few websites about LP's but some of the explinations are hard to make sense of. Will definatley get the vet to have another look next time I go. You may be right in this case about the habit, to me thats what it seems like, as when she is running fast there is no limp or hint of a skip at all. My dad has a little Maltese cross and he does it all the time too and he is about 6 now and the vet said the same thing to them about it being nothing to worry about. But I do worry and I'm constantly watching Tully to see if it changes at all.
  16. Scout looks so happy and he will be a very happy boy once he realized how much fun Jane is.... they are going to have a ball together!!
  17. Hi Tez, I thought I'd add my 5 cents worth. Cooper went from being a happy boy to being a happy happy happy boy.... It was love at first sight!! I don't think I have ever met anyone who got a second dog and the first dog wasn't happy about it. Lots of people said Cooper wouldn't cope with a second dog because he was so spoilt but he was the total opposite!!
  18. Cosmolo, fingers crossed for a good outcome for Gilbert!! Does a little skip or jump in a dogs leg (back) always mean a luxating patella?? My girl Tully who is nearly 3 had a little skip when she is running slow, and it is very noticable probly every 5 steps she skips one. But when she runs fast like chasing a ball etc she never skips at all. She has never had a limp and never ever seems like she has been in pain. I asked the vet about it and the vet checked her skipping leg and said every thing felt fine. Can they tell just by feeling or do they have to do an xray for a definate diagnosis? She has always done the little skip and it always seems the same. She is a huge jumper, can and will jump big heights from a standing start and she runs like an elephant, very heavy on her feet but also very fast. If it is a luxating patella, can they live with it if it doesn't bother them? Tully is due to go to the vet again in July so will get her rechecked. Is there anything I should be avoiding her doing if it is this? She is a bugger for doing very sharp turns when she his playing with the other dogs and also when she is chasing the ball. She is however very fit and active and has good muscle tone on her whole body.
  19. Fiona, I think he may have been trying to impersonate the easter bunny with those ears Great shots guys!!
  20. Oh thats so cute!! We have been running into two lovely whippets at the dog park. An older one named Jack a lovely boy who could run like the wind My lot try to catch but they soon give up when they realize there is no hope. The other one was a puppy 13 weeks old her name was Ally and she is so cute and mad as a hatter I can see why you love them so much they are lovely dogs!!
  21. I love it!! Look at the shadow, it makes his nose look twice as long as it should be...
  22. Well welcome GSD's, Im glad you come in peace!! Its been a lovely day today, RJ and I went to the dog park and had a lovely walk, the doggies had a great time. Does anyone remember the poor doggy in the standard a month or so back that was a horrible matted mess, he was at the rspca, not sure if he was seized, surrendered or found. But he had matts down to his skin and grass seeds embedded and had been badly neglected. Well Im glad to report he has a nice new family to love him now, A older couple that have recently lost both thier old dogs in the last 6 months His name is George and Me and the gang met him at the park the other day with his new owner, he was quite around my guys but happy enough to say hello as his owner stopped to tell me all about him. He had only had him for 2 days and he was running along off lead and totally in awe of his new owner, which was so good to see!! A terribly story with a happy ending!! Just thought I'd share.
