Bought On Limited But Breeder Will Change To Mains?
cannibalgoldfish replied to miss2's topic in General Dog Discussion
I think what I was musing was you can up grade, registerwise, but not down grade?. You can breed a limited register dog all you want but you can't register the pups. But if you have a mains dog who failed the grade, nothing is stopping you from being able to register the pups (you know, if both parents are, ect)right? -
Bought On Limited But Breeder Will Change To Mains?
cannibalgoldfish replied to miss2's topic in General Dog Discussion
*just musing here* What about the dogs sold on Main that don't quite shape up to standard when they are fully grown. Obviously they wouldn't do well being shown but the owner could still breed them because they are on Mains? I know for the betterment of the breed they shouldn't be bred but I guess there is nothing stopping people? (no contract or anything right?) Ok, odd thought for the day... -
Male Great Dane Pup Squatting To Pee *bewildered*
cannibalgoldfish replied to Merle_Miss's topic in Puppy Chat
Awww! (Sleeping dane photo) I've got a boy who cocks his leg for number twos.... :D It gets a bit awkward, especially when he then pees all over it. You know, because picking up dog poo isn't fun enough.... introducing.... soggy poo! With extra pee!! -
Friends of mine had 2 dogs, a Bouvier des flandres and a 13 year old Border collie. The BC was deaf and going blind and just started to "shut down" She had no intrest in anything and went down hill. No obvious reasons (vet checked her over) She just got sad and depressed and basically gave up. They decided she was on her way out and thought they should get a new pup before she went, to help the other dog adjust to a new pup so they got a Rottie pup.... The BC was so very offended by having a young pup in her house she rallied forth and started to get up and go about her business. Total turn around... She lived for another 4 years, I believe :D I'm not saying thaat getting a new dog will help, but I have seen it do wonders :D

When Is A Good Time To Bring In The New Puppy
cannibalgoldfish replied to Bubba & Maximus's topic in General Dog Discussion
I have been thinking about this subject for a while, Because the younger dog is very bonded to the older one and they are both getting on a bit... But the big question I have wondered is adding a third dog to a 2 dog house if that's all my council allows? I can't see them letting me have a third for "canine mental health" -
Good vibes here for your gangly boy.

Um, my dogs have heroically saved the cats lives by selflessly eating the cat food, thus removing any chance the cats may choke on their dinner?

Slightly differentish, but my intact boy used to get a red rashy rub on his nads when ever he went to the beach or any other sandy place. It only happened with sandy soils...

Coyote Snags Small Dog, Rotty Saves The Day : Video
cannibalgoldfish replied to a topic in In The News
I hope that poor lil dog is ok! Watching that, the coyote treated it as prey.(well, der! I mean the neck grab and shake ) It seems impossible that it escaped major injuries! (even spinal) -
Loki has got a rather musical yodel, I'll have you know!!

They are... Very good fences a must though!

I'd suggest a shiba inu if you want something small and spitzy but without the long coat. Will shed buckets of hair in Spring but hey, I hear knitting with dog hair can be a fun hobby :D

Occasionally I get "well behaved" comments. It's usually when someone is walking their dog towards us and it's going crazy on the end of it's leash, jumping about trying to greet my dogs and mine just sit there and ignore the other dog. I get " your dogs are so well behaved!" I never tell them the truth, it's not training, but the fact that mine are terrible dog snobs and they are sitting there with their noses in the air ignoring the other dog because they feel it isn't worthy of their attention....

Sa Nurse Facing Deregistration Over Bestiality Charges...

I actually get what you are saying Sandgrubber. Some male dogs are pretty happy to hump anything. That's why we have threads on Dol abut dogs humping pillows or legs or other dogs of the same sex. I guess it comes down to people. We as humans know beastiality is wrong, but the animals involved don't. (edit, I don't actually know. I have no idea how the whole thing works and I don't want to..) They are probably just going with instincts/stimulation? There are mentally disabled people who might do things that are not ok and they enjoy it, but they do not have the same social awareness that others may have. It doesn't make it ok. I really suck at explainig.... Dogs aren't mentally disabled people btw.. I really do suck at trying to explain stuff.... -
They probably just thought you had a German accent :D

I just get people insisting my dogs are crossed with dingos or bogans telling me "they look like a fox, it's gonna get shot" Wouldn't call them good comments really? I have Shiba inu, btw. Most people who tell me they recognise the breed go on to tell me they are basenjis... Seems only Japanese tourists or people who have lived in Japan actually recognise the breed. That and the future (probably is now) byber who bailed me up to see if my dogs were female so she could breed her (non papered)boy shiba and "split the puppies between us"
