  1. Jordelette I am so sorry for your loss. After 16 years I am sure you have many happy memories of her which will remain with you. RIP Indi, little girl.
  2. So sorry Vehs. I think you started grieving for Princess Nub when she first became ill and you knew you would have to make the decision to relieve her of her suffering. RIP little girl
  3. I vaccinate my own kittens and cats. I discussed it with my vet first and he said he didn't have a problem with me doing it. Edited to add that he gives all kittens their first vaccination and health checks them at the same time.

    Gizmo

I'm so sorry Rozzie. He was a very handsome fellow. RIP Gizmo
  6. I understood that it was legal in NSW to use no-bark collars on dogs only if you had a vet's prescription.
  7. This is definitely not normal behaviour but she could just be a big sook. I would take her back to the vet tomorrow just to be sure. Is she eating OK?
  8. RIP Luther and run free Mr and Mrs R, thinking of you both at this time.
  9. Hey Electrawoman, your dog eats better than me! Can I come and live at your house
  10. So sorry for your loss. She will be running free with the other old Mudgee dogs - her friends.
  11. So sorry for your loss Rozzie. There are a few old Mudgee dogs up at the Bridge now, sadly RIP Steven
  12. To save you the bother I found a fence didn't work - he just jumped over it. I tent pegged plastic coated wire over the garden bed and gave up growing plants in between the shrubs. All I can suggest is more toys like a kong, huge bones, heaps of exercise. I have never had any luck with garden deterrents but have been hesitant to use some of them because of safety issues, eg moth balls. Usually it is just a stage and they grow out of it but there are the exceptions, of course!
  13. That's great news. Fingers crossed she keeps it up!
  14. Hi Rozzie My old girl was having renal problems which affected her gums (they bled terribly), which then affected her appetitite. A course of clavulox and some prednisone worked wonders and gave her back her quality of life for just that bit longer. Good luck with her.
  15. My own hydrobath for ACD and laundry tub for Shih Tzu.
  16. Both of these clipper sets are only for touch-ups for pet owners. You need something with more grunt and stamina!

    Sofia

I'm so sorry for your loss Rozzie. This makes the 3rd in such a short time Rest in peace and run free Sofia.
  18. I use Wahl and they do the job well, but the blades get hot So I have a couple of spare blades and just swap them when they do. I also use a No 10 blade. I bought them online at vetproductsdirect.com as they were the cheapest at the time but I do see the Oster brand on ebay from time to time! I have an old Oster pair and was happy with them but they stopped making the blades for them.
  19. I would recheck with the vet about the use of Frontline after Advantage as I was told by my vet it was safe to use on a KITTEN that I had just purchased with fleas. I bathed it, treated with Advantage and then Frontline about a week later. Could be different with a pup though. I didn't think Advantage was waterfast anyway so it would be gone after the bath. Also don't forget that the flea cycle includes tapeworms :D
  20. I can only tell you from my experiences that some vets have staff that sleep onsite (in shifts) and some take the animal home with them.
  21. I'm so sorry for your tragic loss. Cats are beautiful creatures and yours will live on in your memories. God's Garden God looked around his garden and found an empty place. He then looked down upon the earth and saw your tired face. He put his arms around you and lifted you to rest. God's garden must be beautiful, he always takes the best. He knew that you were suffering, he knew you were in pain. He knew that you would never get well on this earth again. He saw the road was getting rough and the hills were hard to climb. So he closed your weary eyelids and whispered "Peace be thine". It broke our hearts to lose you but you didn't go alone. For part of us went with you, the day God called you home. Author Unknown

    Josey

Awww what a sweetie she was. Thinking of you at this time Rozzie. RIP Josey-Jane
  24. Oh Elise, I'm thinking of you at this very sad time. RIP Tulip.
  25. I get a bucket of warm water and add some shampoo, then sponge this through the coat - the shampoo breaks down the natural oils and lets the water penetrate. Then add more shampoo and lather up and then rinse.
