That second shot is amazing

Don't show dogs in Europe have to undergo a temp test before they are shown? Sorry I don't remember more of the details, but maybe that would be something worthwhile considering in Aus
-
Staranais that is a good idea. Never thought of that.
-
And I wouldn't be recommending huskies to anyone that wasn't 100% sold on the idea. I've seen people do sledding activities with border collies.

That puppy class wasn't very good. They spent the first 2 weeks doing positive reinforcement, and then week 3 they brought in a guy that was the total opposite. Cesar Millan x Drill Instructor.
-
I never used it as a tool for stopping bad behaviour. I used one to keep Esky cool in Summer. In puppy class the teachers were surprised that Esky didn't react badly when they sprayed her

FIL is being a real 'man' about it and doesn't want his dog to lose its balls. No taking the hint after his dog has already sired 3 litters MIL's Chi was booked into be speyed, they took one look at her age and said No freaking way. SIL wants to be a breeder SIL and FIL's dogs went on to have a litter earlier this year. One of the pups got ill and ended up here for good. Still intact. Moving out soon *fingers crossed*

Good to see you're making a recovery Jed. Your attitude through this whole ordeal itself is inspirational. If only we could all be a little bit more like you Jed, the world would be a better place

IMO banning the sale of live animals is the first step. People need to be educated about choosing the right fit for their family. It's not as though you pick up the first guy off the street and say to him ' right your my husband, come home with me' It takes time to make these decisions, and pet stores encourage impulse purchases.

When You Just 'click' With A Breed
Esky the husky replied to HeavyPaws's topic in General Dog Discussion
We both mutually clicked on the next breed we'll have (Finnish Lapphund) He wanted something cuddly and loyal. I wanted something Spitz-y, intelligent and active. It seems like a perfect fit for both of us. On the car ride home from meeting Lappies for the first time BF keeps telling me how much he wants one. WIN!! -
I see them in our local meat section occasionally. I think they must wait until they have enough before they package them up for sale because there only ever on shelves every other week or so. I just buy as many as I can when they're on sale, and freeze.

I'm so thankful to Esky's breeder that she had a 5 year old kid. Esky really LOVES kids, which makes my life so much easier. Aren't Jap Spitz's meant to be timid of strangers by nature? Poor Emmy, she's so cute, I don't blame people for wanting to pat her. Too bad people are idiots
