  1. She was stunning and crazy and very affectionate with humans - the dogs all feared her  Betsy is the tabby in the link :) http://s189.photobucket.com/albums/z49/screamingswifts/Cats/?start=all&mediafilter=
  2. Thanks tlc :) Can you send your bugs my way and I'll send you a couple of teeny jumpers instead - My garden seems mostly devoid of interesting bug life
  3. They are all gorgeous, can't believe how quickly Maya has grown, she is just as gorgeous as ever LOL at Sage - I had a burmese x bengal, she was just as crazy looking
  4. Huntin' Jumper :D Pretty fly And a couple of poppies :)
  5. Great catch with the Cockatoos Lollipup :D tlc, those flowers sre so pretty :) Beautiful golden light CM - lovely :) Another try from me......
  6. I know there's not a huge amount of Tamron love on this board  but a couple of nice looking lenses have just been announced from Tamron. It'll be interesting to see how the 70-200mm f2.8 VC stacks up against the Sigma and Canon versions :) I might also be tempted by the macro for the USD, as this is something that I often wish for on my 60mm version. "The most compact full-size, high-speed telephoto zoom lens, delivering leading-edge image quality with Tamron’s proprietary VC (Vibration Compensation) and USD (Ultrasonic Silent Drive). - SP 70-200mm F/2.8 Di VC USD (Model A009)" http://www.tamron.com/en/news/2012/0913_01.html "Tamron announces the redesign of their legendary 90mm Macro lens, equipped with VC (Vibration Compensation) and USD (Ultrasonic Silent Drive) - SP 90mm F/2.8 Di MACRO 1:1 VC USD (Model F004)" http://www.tamron.com/en/news/2012/0913_02.html
  7. Super shots Meagan I love Salukis This one is just classic
  8. Loving all your pics CM :D Congrats huga - new toy tlc - for a relatively 'cheap' 70-300 you can't go far wrong with the Tamron one which has stabilisation and USM :) http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/728341-REG/Tamron_AFA005C700_SP_70_300mm_f_4_5_6_Di.html Some samples when paired with the 7D (apart from the first 2) :) http://flic.kr/s/aHsjt3osCV
  9. So I ended up getting the X-Rite i1Display Pro and calibrated my screen last night. It was quick and fairly simple to use and the difference was obvious. The below image was one of the first I did on my new screen and it just didn't look 'right' when viewing elsewhere, now I'm a lot happier with how it looks. My screen was too bright and too 'colourful'. I still need to get some prints done to finish the process :) Before After
  10. Thanks for the review CM, super shots of your gorgeous pooches :D I've heard good things about the fast 85mm lenses :)
  11. Thanks tlc and MnDM, yup she's our evil Siamesey who rules the house  I was pleased with this seeing as it was iso1600, it needed very little sharpening and just some noise reduction in LR. I know the colours should look 'richer' though, it may be uploading to Flickr that's doing it - I'll have to experiment :)
  12. Really enjoying seeing your composites huga :D I have neither the skill or the software required for these  Looking forward to seeing some others too :)
  13. Go back to the shop and have a play with them both, you may find one just feels more comfortable and easier to hold/use than the other :) I think there has been a 650D recently released as well, which I assume is an upgrade to the 600D?
  14. Ok thanks for the replies and advise everyone :D I'll send a few test prints off, see how they come back and take it from there. I think I remember a fairly recent thread about recommended print labs, so I'l choose one from there :)
  15. np Kirislin :) I'm an IT systems admin, so it helps a bit
  16. Probably a false-positive, try updating Mcafee or making Flickr a trusted site :) Others having the same issue below. http://www.flickr.com/help/forum/en-us/72157631450151228/
  17. Now that I have my lovely big shiney new monitor, I think I should get it calibrated :) Has any one used the X-Rite i1Display Pro? It seems to have pretty good reviews. http://www.xrite.com/product_overview.aspx?ID=1454 Or any other recommended calibrators, this is a for a PLS monitor (newer version of IPS I believe). TIA :D
  18. Awesome spider shot Kirislin, so cool to see all the babies Those are great tlc, especially love the 2nd and 4th, looks like you're doing really well with the new lens :D I never use a tripod with my macro, not enough movability for me :)
  19. Another cat one to throw into the mix :D Taken this afternoon and first real editing on my new pc. The colours and brightness look muted on Flickr on my iPad, maybe a calibration is in order? Can anyone tell me how it looks if they have a calibrated monitor - cheers :) Exposure 1/320 sec Aperture f/4.0 Focal Length 60 mm ISO Speed 1600
  20. Gorgeous foal mirawee My brain sees Dave though not Dare, so he'll be Dave the foal in my head  Can't make the beach trip tomorrow now, hopefully another time soon though :)
  21. It was going ok until I tried moving my Lightroom folders Luckily it failed about 3rd of the way through as I think I f**ked it up - guess what I'll be doing tonight And apparently I don't learn from my own mistakes http://www.dolforums.com.au/topic/222703-argh-lightroom-nightmare/page__p__5376397__hl__lightroom__fromsearch__1#entry5376397 But in general I'm loving the new machine :D Good luck finding somehwere cheap to buy PS, I don't think there is one You can get it cheap if you qualify for teacher or student discount I believe :)
