  1. Still taking the pics, but not had the editing time, but I will get them up soon, I won't be beaten! Really like your last one, very moody :)
  2. Hope Toby is doing ok today RV, hugs for you both
  3. Hoverfly FM :D You're getting some great shots and good to see someone else having a go at the little jumping spiders, they are my faves :D
  4. Everything crossed here for Toby RV, give him a gentle squeeze from us. Tiggy, hope your sisters dog is doing ok now too. RS - hoping to get some editing time in today, have barely looked at a pc after getting home for the past couple of weeks - I WILL get yours finished soon
  5. Unbelievably adorable and beautiful photos Kirislin
  6. My cocker was Fargo, named after a love of Coen brother movies - and they all wear hats with spaniel ears in the film of that name
  7. What a fab bunch of smiley pooches :D Here's Louis :D I have a couple of great ones of my old grey on my other pc, will dig them out later :)
  8. Another one to look at is the Canny Collar. I use this on my reactive boy and he walks so well in it, but also when another dog passes he is easier to control in this - compared to how he was in a halti, which he hated. http://www.cannyco.com.au/fitting-the-canny-collar.html
  9. I haven't done the Canon course but I have the 7D too and have found the best thing is just to play :) Having said that just before I got the 7D I did a one day photography course with Chris Bray at Perth zoo, it was great fun and really got me back into photography again. Do you have any camera clubs near you? You may find by joining one that you find a whole group of people to learn from :) Do you know about POTN? another great resource for Canon folk, and also a lot of inspiration from some of the photos on there. http://photography-on-the.net/forum/index.php
  10. Congrats on the new lens Gorgeous first shots and great to see the lovely Lottie again :D
  11. Great recent shots in here guys I'm still shooting but no time for editing at the moment - hopefully get some more up soon :) I'd love to see your take on spideys and bugs :D I have the 60mm f2.0 Tamron which I love, but you have to be prepared to get close to your subject ;) Tamron are due to be releasing a new version of the 90mm macro, so I'd be tempted to wait a bit and see what price thats come out at. Some info here :) http://www.dolforums.com.au/topic/241712-tamron-announce-new-70-200mm-and-90mm-macro/
  12. YG I think you need to send your Cresties to me for training - I'll record Louis doing his guard dog impression one day, it's almost scarier than the noise on your tape
  13. I'll have a try if you like - I'm not the greatest editor in the world, but I may be able to do something to help :)
  14. As it was milk chocolate that evens up the odds quite a lot, not much cacao in milk chocolate. With Daisy she was totally hyper active when we got home, like she had drunk 100 espressos!
  15. Been there Daisy (10kg) ate a fatal dose of 70% plain chocolate, it was touch and go over night, but she pulled through after 24hrs at the vets. The vet said to us at the time that if they make it, there are no long term issues resulting from chocolate toxicity. Fingers crossed for your neighbors dog I know what an awful night it was for us, but tell her not to beat herself up over it. We knew how toxic chocolate can be, but it was just one of those stupid accidents that happen.
  16. Sounds very familiar YG We are the 5th home for our Daisy, so to say she had an unsettled start to life is an understatement. She was handed into the rescue climbing the walls with pain as her coat was so matted, her ears were matted to her head and she had a bad ear infection She hadn't been walked or socialized and foot chewing seemed to be her stress outlet. This was a couple of months after we got her - the red is staining from the saliva, not raw flesh, but as you can imagine her feet were pretty tender. and this was a couple of years later :) Where we lived then there weren't really any behaviorists etc. but with a good diet, exercise and a stable environment the habit gradually lessened. We tried the boots, but they didn't help either. She still has periods where she will focus on one foot, and like your Daisy it seems a total obsession - she will sometimes squeal whilst chewing, but still carry on I can't offer any magic solution, and it sounds like you are trying all you can for this little one, but just wanted to give you a bit of hope really :) Also, how patient is Sarge!
  17. My Louis had one on his chest that we had removed early this year. It was the size of a large fat tick, and while it wasn't causing him any issues, it was growing slowly and I didn't want it to get irritated by his clothes. Pretty sure he had a GA, there wasn't any 'spare' skin in that area but it was a tiny wound and healed beautifully and quickly. He has baby soft skin on his chest, and I'd be hard pushed to find a scar :) Can't remember the price I'm afraid
  18. I managed to have a bit more of a chat with my great aunt today and she is understandably emotional about it at the moment, so is thinking about things for a couple of days. She says she knows deep down in her heart that to re-home him would be the best thing, but I can't pressure her. I can't continue calling rescue groups etc until she is 100% (which it sounded like she was on thursday, but then she didn't seem to want to talk yesterday). He's in boarding kennels and is booked in for another 10 days, so a bit of breathing space atm, but as soon as she calls me I can get the ball rolling. We could also pay for him to board for a bit longer if that option is available.
  19. Thanks for the suggestions Tibbie_tabbie :) Many thanks JRT RESCUE :D I'll speak my aunt tomorrow and see if she has a better photo of him, and also that she is happy for him to go on a website. I'll email you if all ok. Unfortunately she got him just before we moved over from the UK, otherwise I would have advised her not to. By the time we met him she had already fallen for him, but as she's got a bit older she is just getting worn down by his energy level They are such cracking little dogs, he's just not the right dog for her but he will make someone a great pet :)
  20. I've posted this in the WA thread in General, but guess it would be best in here too. I have called Shenton Dogs Home this morning, but they are understandably full and will call be back once they have checked out their waiting list. Can anyone recommend any other groups to try? If I ever get my hands on the mobile groomer who thought it was a good idea to pass a lively JRT onto my elderly great aunt after her senior GS passed away, then I will throttle him Many thanks :) I've just had my 85yr old great aunt on the phone in tears as she has put her dog in boarding kennels today and won't be having him back. She has realized he is just too much for her and can't cope with him anymore He is a 7yr old Jack Russell type, white and tan boy. Neutered, vaccinated microchipped etc, but he is just too lively for my aunt, so I will help her re-home him. I'll give Shenton a ring tomorrow, but thought I'd mention it in here in case anyone knows of someone looking for a terrier type dog. He has a lovely temperament, would need training but has picked up the few things I have shown my aunt quickly. Not sure how he'd be with cats as any critter that gets in her yard doesn't last long. She takes him out on daily walks, so I think he is ok on the lead, but don't think he has ever been off-lead with her. Pic in original post below - not great but she sent me this one of him with a visiting friend. Any other suggestions of where to try with regards to finding him a home would also be appreciated. http://www.dolforums.com.au/topic/182056-western-australian-thread/page__view__findpost__p__5999141
