  1. I googled it but only came up with human answers ???? As I can't find anywhere else that does chicken mince , roo is everywhere I hope they will swap it as would like to keep using them .
  2. Since my old petshop closed down i have been buying my chicken mince elswhere. It comes in kg rolls fresh and i freeze it straight away, it gets delivered . This week i ordered more and yesterday when i opened the roll it has a strong odour, its dark red, not the pale pink chicken mince normally is and its really sticky like glue. I fed the dogs last night and they both had bad wind all night. I rang the supplier and left a message but they are not open over the weekend, should i carry on feeding it or is it off? all the rolls are the same colour, not just this one. i feed roo alternate nights , but its too rich for everyday, but i can feed it till i know this is ok.
  3. fill up a clam shell? or will he just splash it all out? or an old bath with high sides ?
  4. Thanks , but too whippy for me .
  5. Scoot, the walkydog end has a spring in it, allows for the dog to pull a little without you coming off,so why dont you buy a short lead with a clip one end and stick another onto the other end. There are leads that are springy , cant think who does them which would be perfect.
  6. I think i might need to come too and chuck in a lurcher! I saw some lovely scruffy stag pups on scumtree, but as usual in the middle of nowhere in Victoria
  7. I found the walkdiog much easier to fit , the low rider just screws onto the wheel middle . I needed it as my cattle dog was too short for the springer too . You could fit one each side of the bike . He used to trot alongside most of the time on his own , but I would clip him on on roads etc
  8. I bought the Sprenger, but it didnt mention it fits on the post under your saddle, and as mine is at its lowest height there was no where to attach it to. So i got a Walkydog with the low rider attachment, and it was great.
  9. And the results recorded by those who lie about dogs dieing and being injured on the track . Very credible
  10. The "hobbeist" i know gave up because he said it was never a level playing field if certain big trainers dogs were entered, and not because they were better dogs.
  11. WM, you hit the nail on the head, they don't think they have done anything wrong and think " townies" have no idea. I really am yet to see how they can stop live baiting. Also all those dogs that would have died with the ban would be dead within the next few years anyway, either culled because thery werent fast enough or their very short career is over. What it did stop was more being bred for the same fate. I'm also sick of hearing its only a few bad apples, that is complete bollocks!
  12. Mike Baird said in his initial speech that to implement enough reforms the industry would not be viable, wonder how that has suddenly changed, or is it that the implements needed won't happen. He also said yesterday that the majority of feedback he had from the general public was for the ban, it was his collegues who were against it, another politician who clearly doesnt speak for the people, just his own kind.
  13. Nailed it Ripley. Corvus, so just because the practice might be done elswhere it makes it ok? I'm sure they were not about to show you live baiting on one of your visits  I'm yet to see how zero tolerance of cruelty is going to be impleted, based on the fact the live baiting is done on rural properties. anyone who was too scared to dob before isn't going to now. And how exactly do they cater for the 70% who don't make it? the drug abuse, the deaths and injuries at tracks which are lied about? if the governing body is lying about this stuff now how do they police it in the future?
  14. Id like to see those who don't support the ban going to watch live baiting in action then sticking their hands up to take one of the 70% of dogs who don't make it . Because I'm damn sure the trainers who love them so much havnt got any sitting on their lounge .
  15. So he will save his own ass rather than stand up to the thugs that run the industry. How can it possibly change when they are so arrogant, think they are doing nothing wrong and no one ever reported the cruelty before as they were too scared, so how will it change now? I feared he would backflip.money speaks louder than anything.
  16. What nasty selfish people they are. Wearing you down till you caved, they are lucky they didnt sell her to someone who told them where to get off! If you dont really want a pup, dont rush into getting one, breeders don't always list the older dogs they have for sale so its worth asking. Have you been into the GSD thread to get advice on where to look? ISH would be a good place to start. hugs to you today, you did a good thing, shame on them.
  17. I did wonder about them just taking her if you don't return her too. Small yards are not really an issue, unless you have a dog who does big zoomies, mine is tiny, however its the fact they already admit they dont have time to walk her, that is where i see the problem. I don't know what i would do, although i reckon i probably would feel really guilty keeping her. If you can hold off looking till they are sure they can make it work give her back ,if they find they cant cope you get her back? Wether they then feel too embarrassed later to admit that and contact you is a risk.
  18. It also depends where the kennel will be, if it has no undercover protection doesn't wood in heavy rain just soak in? I have the big plastic ones, 2 oblong and a huge hexagonal one, easy to hose down and clean and insulated.
  19. Its a tricky one, but both sides need to take the children out of the equation. Yes, their kids might be upset but the dog will still have a tiny yard and no walks, not fair on a young GSD to make a call just to please the kids. Same with your side, your child is young, a week down the track it might not even notice the dog, right now its a new thing to have around. I wouldnt base my decision on how any of the kids feel, although it sounds harsh, who can give the dog the best outcome? Legally, has the old owner signed transfer of owner papers? My immediate reaction was give it back, but will they offload her agin a few months down the track when all the reasons they have now for rehoming her are still there?
  20. My only comment is, letting a young rottie pup hoon around with a staffy is a huge no no, it could well be he has pulled something rough housing, either way it shouldn't be happening.
  21. Gumtree,Ebay. Buying new is expensive, i have my kennels off the ground on a pllet too, keeps them warmer.
  22. Depends what you want, the fact that they look mainly blue and they are calling them "english" which is not their proper name screams backyard breeder to me.
  23. just a thought, body shots might be a good idea as she looks like she maybe a lab mix, which would give her more chance ?
