  1. agree with all the above, shoot denise an email, or dogmad.
  2. Thanks , just wanted to see if it was actually a stag as stags and wolfies seem to be the in thing for breed descriptions on petrescue these days and they look nothing like them ????
  3. Kirslin, any pics couldn't see anything on their site about them.
  4. Yes, for my dogs safety, and because i live alone ,so i always ask them to wait till i shut the dogs in, i dont want them to think any stranger can walk into my place.
  5. Teebs,we should dog share I would like a rottie too, just still not sure about size and wether i could manage one, perhaps because my experience has been big goofballs who leap all over me
  6. Well if anyone hears of someone with scruffy staggy pups or adult too soft to hunt give me a shout . Seems Victoria is the state for these dogs .
  7. I have the same dilema, i really want a lurcher/stag type, male, grey or brindle with white scruffer, more slender than wolfy built. But the only ones i have seen in rescue are in other states with no interstate adoptions.I would have a pup or adult. Years ago when i didnt have a spot i saw lots, now nothing.
  8. If he hasnt been inside he could just be marking and may settle? When i first brought my cattle dog inside he did the same, but soon stopped and he was desexed. I would be inclined to desex if it will benefit his health and you can get the vets to have a good look and clean his ears while he is under.
  9. I know you want to move on , but you could be saving some poor other family the heartache if it happens again . You are out of pocket for a lot of money and I think the vet and breeder should be reported . It's then up to the governing bodies to do something . I'm so glad you are getting s new pup . You deserve it .
  10. Yes i have, i think judging by the fact i saw them listed on here for sale still when i had her she had literally just been weaned off them when i got her. My last bully came to me at 3yrs after two litters aswell and never lost her saggy tum either, hers was very low and i'm wondering if its because they were kennel dogs? Its a different breeder this time and his dogs are blody huge anyway  The other thing is treats, i am constantly reinforcing recall on our walks and reward her for being in her crate too, i keep a bowl of treats above her crate and the kids reward too. i use those milky treats from kmart as they dont smell left out in a bowl. They are 23% protein, 7%fat, the ones i use on walk are roo treats, 25% protein, 8% fat.
  11. I've never cooked pumpkin , is it just likes cooking potatoes ? Cube , boil and mash ? I will give it a try .
  12. When I picked her up from the breeder she was brought out by someone else she goes to to welp. I commented to breeder that she was rather large and the breeder said X was too soft . He said now her litter was weaned she should drop weight . So the rice is bad ? Should I try and wean her off it altogether ? Or just reduce it all ?
  13. I am trying to get the weight off my new girl and it seems to be harder than i thought. My dogs have roo or chicken mince mixed with VANS for dinner and two 2x4 bics for brekky. When she first arrived she turned her nose up night after night to that, so i went back to what the breeder fed her, cup of mince, cup of brown rice, cup of kibble which she scoffed. I gradually introduced the VANS a teaspoon at a time and now i can get two tablespoons in the mix before she leaves any. However, i have reduced the kibble and the rice a little and she is still rotund. Someone said its the rice as its a carb, but i thought rice was a filler with no value? I would love to offload the kibble but she not sure she will go for it. So , which out of those ingredients is the worst offender ?
  14. If the breeder is "owed" a pup from another breeder chances are its his line too and i would run a mile. They are probably offering it you to get out of any other comeback or refund, looking out for themselves thats all, they didn't care before, dont trust them, or the vet! i would report them to every governing body you can, including the vet if it was given a clean bill of health. Use the excuse that you are not emotionally ready for another pup and ask for a refund. Agreed about getting recommendations here for a breeder.
  15. That dog doesn't look very amstaff either, more big bull breed of mixed origin. Will be interesting to hear more as to why the dogs were loose when a tradie was there when one was already declared a nuisance He was lucky he wasnt killed. I met a neighbour this morning when i was out walking my dogs who told me about it, she said its 3 dogs like yours that did it. eerrrr nope.
  16. Roo or chicken mince ( bought in 1kg bags, in freezer ,so easy to defost overnight as needed). Mixed with Vets All Natural ( i cup soaked in water for 8 hours in a sandwich container does one night , then refill use again next night). I also add half cup of cooked rice to one of my dogs food to fill her up.( just cook a few days worth up and put in container in the fridge). i add random eggs and sardines here and there. i cant be bothered with time consuming stuff either, this means they get everything they need easily.
  17. He looks pretty perfect! Also bear in mind, body corporate allows dogs if they are not a nuisance, so that is open to all sorts of interpretations, if you end up with one that yaps etc you will get booted.
  18. Bostons are a terrier remember. How about a Cav?
  19. If you are having a secure pen and then taking her outside what happens when she is too big for the pen and you go back to work? I would aim to do now what you will do then, nothing wrong with being outside with lots to explore , rather than shut up in a house with lots to destroy.
  20. just a thought, if you say having her lunge is not a bad thing as you live in a dodgy area, perhaps the muzzle would have the same effect, but at least she is safe from hurting anyone?
  21. so she averages litters every 4-6 months, hmmmmm.
  22. call me cynical too but 4 bitches just happened to be in season at exactly the same time? is that odd?
