Yes i saw him, stunning, but he has already started to hunt. I wanted either a pup that is too soft to hunt or a young dog at the pound for the same reason. A proven hunter i'm not up for. But he is the look i am after. The ad for pups has been removed , so will keep looking.
-
They are nothing to do with the "farmer" are they? he seems to have the same approach to bullying anyone who dares say anything bad about him.
-
Yes, i suppose so, looks like a greyhound but scruffy  Getting cold feet about that particular ad , i think a rescue or something i can at least look at first would be better.
-
There are a few listed on petrescue as stags, but they are just scruffy mutts, or female . I am after a real stag, sighthound looking ,scruffy. I saw lots when i didn't have room! And thankyou for the offer to help RP.

I have seen a few litters in vic , but they are always really remote spots I wouldn't get transport from . I saw a fair few older ones in rescue a few years ago but non since I have been looking or won't do interstate adoption . I want a male , scruffy , stag rather than bull Arab build and good with other dogs . If you spot anything that would be lovely . ????

This is a long shot, but worth a try i thought. I have wanted a staggy type pup for years, but they never appear in Sydney. After losing Ozz last month i have been thinking of getting one even more and i have seen a litter on gumtree, half wolfy half deery, lovely looking brindle scruffy munchkins, but i am reluctant to go any further without someone taking a peak in person at them. I have a neighbour who has a property near Armidale, not sure where , her hubby is there most of the time but thought he would be home for xmas so was going to ask if he might like a passenger if they turned out to be ok. As im typing i am thinking WTF are you doing, stupid idea, but it might be fate

Apart from what pers said the easiest option is to add chicken mince to the kibble, its full of fat. I have the opposite problem and when i swapped out chicken mince for roo and cut out all chicken extras my girls weight dropped off.

I Know This Has Probably Been Done To Death...

I havnt met one crossed with a lab , only small ones , and apricot seems to be the rage here . I find it amazing people will part with at least $2000 for a mongrel , although they seem to think they have a purebred "cavoodle" ???? Can't argue with stupid . -

I think it has alot to do with where you live and the dog being "in", there are shedloads round here, and they are either mad as hatters or terrified of everything. Persoanlly, can't stand them, looks do nothing for me. I also think the ease of which you can get one adds to it, i was in the petshop and a lady was ordering one , colour , sex etc and the owner was writing it in his book and saying when it would be in! Purebred breeders don't help either, they either dont reply to people or are often just bloody rude. I know a neighbour bought an oodle because he looked at a rescue pup and said he didnt see why he should jump through hoops to get it so went to the petshop. Bottom line is they are easy to get, generally not very big and kids are not scared of them. -
Scrappie I think you just snapped up the one I was after for the car , I was watching it and it's gone ???? I have a 42 for my bully as she is big , but after a 36 for the car , I'm temped to try a soft crate to contain the white hairs but not sure it' will hold her ????

online, i think i got mine delivered the next day, its a vebo i think.

I have always owned bull breeds and i find they like the shred and tear stuff. Plastic bottles, cardboard boxes, frozen ice blocks ( icecream container) with oxo dissolved in. They also love a good game of tug. I gave mine a marrow bone last week for the first time, she didn't stop for 6 straight hours! eventually i took it off her to take her for a walk and popped it in the freezer, it lasted 3 days solid
-
Clarke rubber, i just got it cut to size, then i put a fleece bed ontop of that. the fabric was from spotlight and it match's the chairs around my table that i recovered too. I had fabric left over so put a piece over the top of the crate and she has 3 bolster cushions aswell
-
My gripe with beds is the rubbish designs they have. The snooza beds are so ugly , hideous green and blue with their logo all over it. Thats why i brought one like the Orvis back from the states. I really like the design on the 'Dougue' beds but they dont make anything big at all. I bought memeory foam and really nice fabric and got my mum to sew a cover for the crate bed.

I had a lovely foster, dashy x cattle. Exactly coloured and marked like a bluey, but body shape all dashy. She turned out to be deaf, her owners adore her and they often get asked what she is and they say she is a mini cattle dog

One of the best dogs I had as a foster was a kelpie X corgi. My neighbour had a poodle X kelpie , farm dog got to wife's poodle . I see certain X breeds and just wonder what they were thinking !

I lost Ozz last week, the last of my old gang. My newest addition Zelda i have only had 6 months is now on her own. She was a kennel dog previously, and Ozz showed her the ropes about being an inside dog and going for walks etc, she would follow him. She has been miserable since he went, she stands just looking around when we go for a walk and is reluctant to go anywhere, and at home she is not herself. Last night for the first time in a week we bumped into one of her playmates and she came out of her shell and hooned around playing zoomies, then came home and slept and has been better today. I have tried not to fuss her, and put her outside during the day as usual while i work ( from home) to keep the routine going, but its hard watching her outside on her own without Ozz to wrestle. I will get another dog, but as i'm not sure which breed out of my two 3 choices to go for ,( wasnt expecting to decide for a few years yet) i don't want to rush into it. I'm sure they grieve, and its hard to keep things normal and not overfuss them i think.

i have started to get a big ginger cat sitting on my bench on the front lawn and catching lizards! this morning i came back from my walk and it leapt in the air to catch a native parrot, the little bastard! i have never had a cat problem before as the dogs bark through the garage door screen if they come anywhere near, but since losing ozzie this cat is here everyday, i reckon i am going to blast it with the hose! no idea where it lives either.

How To Tell If Chicken Mince Is Off?
juice replied to juice's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
Bit of a hike from here. I did find World 4 pets yesterday and their chicken mince is way cheaper than i have been paying for it at Blacktown and their roo is comparible to Castle Hill aswell. I'm going to see what response i get monday from the wholesaler as to why its changed and decide wether to change. -
No , it was actually on Foxtel last night and I recorded it . I can't watch the dog fighting ones , too upsetting . When we were teens lots of kids had staffs and pits like the ones in the programme .

Yes i used 7 Hills for years for roo and chicken but since they closed i buy chicken mince form this wholesaler at Blacktown, their roo is too pricey though so i buy that at Castle Hill petshop. Its always been pale pink with fatty bits etc in it previously, so thats why i was alarmed at this batch. They both ate it ,just had bad wind! -
I just watched it and found it really good. I had no idea so many people had died from dog attacks over there in the last 10 years. Attacks have not declined with the banning of pits , but has put them underground earning good money for backyard breeders.
