Just A Silly Little Girly Sook. -sorry Pls Move To Off Topic
juice replied to mr.mister's topic in General Dog Discussion
With all due respect, you went out with a bunch of guys to do guy stuff, did you really expect them to talk about shoes or shopping( or whatever girls talk about ) No offence meant, but i think your expectations were wrong.I have 3 brothers, and used to go out with all 3 at night( designated driver), but i would never have gone laser tagging, or play games with them. Next time try and do something different, or let them go alone? -

I agree, Greyhound products was the cheapest by far for Jointguard. I use Priceless pets for Advocate. I have just ordered a collar from 'regalhoundsdesign" in canada, really cheap -
Brilliant!!!!! He must be such a gentle soul to have held out so long, hope he continues the get well.

Omg, i am so sorry, poor boy Can you borrow a dog for a while? just throwing idea's around.

Just the "crazy dog lady" according to my neighbours, as i am always out walking my dogs I am also the first one that gets a doorknock if there is a stray dog around, or some neighbour wants rid of their dog, and wants me to take it immediatley.

I own a stupid dally who must destroy the yard. A cattle dog who will nip children, and a BT who will then eat them alive Least it will be quick
-
I would say something too, otherwise they will never know. I had a bad experience with a stand in when my vet was away, he was scared of big dogs, as soon as my dally wriggled away he stood back and told me he would need to be knocked out and have surgery to look at his sore eye( $ 400!), gave me some cream and told me to book surgery in 3 days if it was still sore. I took him to another vet 3 days later, who opened his eye up to look at him properly, showed me the absess he had on it and gave the right cream to sort it out. When my other vet came back from hols i told her of my experience, and she said she had had alot of bad feedback from owners with big dogs, and she would never use him again.

I believe you can get it delivered, i think one of the banner ads on here does it.

i know, its a conundrum, do i feed a better quality food ,now he is getting older, and risk the purine level being too high, or stick with the cheaper product that is lower. I have just been researching ingredients, and reviews, and "Artemis " looks really good, both the adult ones. The more i look at the Proplan reviews the worse it seems to get rated, with cheap fillers. Advance looks about second to that.
-
No, he is 35kgs! he's American bred, much bigger :D Just read the ingredients for Chum crunchy, and its all the stuff i read to be rubbish in it? So interesting. i have been feeding Optimum for a few years ( the chicken and rice one), with a wing for brekky and a couple of necks with kibble at night with no problems, its just after being given a bag of Proplan and reading the ingredients it guilted me into thinking i wasn't feedin a very good diet. optimum isn't that much cheaper anymore, i pay $86 for 15kg i think, proplan is $106.
-
Perhaps i should look at Chum crunchy, havn't heard of it. I have a list of high/meduim and low purine foods, so thats what i am going on, however, i am also looking at getting a better quality kibble for my other 2 aswell, they have no requirements, so doesn't have to be the same brand as my dally. I am reading that corn is bad, as its a filler, beet pulp is bad, by products are bad?
-
I have read the article, thanks. I do feed him around 5 ish anyway. I have been studying the ingredients in Proplan and Nutro, these 2 seem to be about right. Just feel like my head is exploding with all the different food reviews, on what is a good ingredient and what isn't.

My dally is 10, and i have been feeding Optimum or years, he had a stone blockage years ago ,so needs a low purin diet. I stupidly thought senior dog food was "lite" and as he is very fit, still runs for a few hours a day to catch bunnies, i didn't think he needed it, but after being given a bag of senior Pro plan this week and reading the ingredients, i realise what i was feeding is not great :p So atm i feel my head is exploding after looking at all the premium foods. So far barf looks great, but as its raw it doesn't contain all the additives in the senior mix foods he needs? My shortlist so far is, Barf, Nutro ,Proplan and Advance. He weighs 35kg, but i also have 2 others, who don't need senior food ( 5 and 3), but would like to get a good quality food for them all, senoir one for my dally, however i am not made of money too! HELP!!!!

Trainer Recommendation, Sydney Area?
juice replied to halfthewords's topic in General Dog Discussion
Another vote for K9pro. He will give you lots of backup after the consult too, so not as expensive as you initially think considering the help you actually get. :D -
I really like the Regalhound collars, thanks for the link, my bully needs a chain martingale as she backs out of ordinary ones, off to the states soon so think i may get some delivered to my mums for when i get there.

5-6mth Old Red Cattle Pup Needing Playdates
juice replied to Bartok's topic in General Dog Discussion
If you are ever around Glenwood give me a shout, we have a lake with around 30acres at the end of our road, my cattle would play herding zoomies no probs, or if he is upto some goofy contact zoomies my BT will oblige All mine are non reactive and very good with other dogs. i work from home so here all the time. -
I come from Warwickshire, home of the hunt, and i can tell you its not the fox that suffers the most, but the horses who are ridden into the ground by wankers who can't ride, who point them at anything to jump, take 2/3 horses to a meet, ( well they actually just meet the groom there, they do nothing else), ride one down and then another, then get in their car and go home. Ex hunters legs are shot to pieces, from cantering down roads. Alot of the landowners near me( especially where i kept my horse, they were irish draught breeders) hated the hunt, they broke fences, trashed crops, and we had to bring our horses inside if they were near as they would go crazy.

Good on you for doing the right thing Its easy to sit behind a computer and be "holier than thou", sometimes we just do what needs to be done. You saved a dogs life, enjoy it, and we need pics!!!

Before i got my dally i wanted a choc lab, in the uk the chocs are "squarer" looking, and shorter, i prefer then like that to pointy and leggy, but the price tag, and my vet put me off, got my dally instead.

i would be emailing the assistance dogs and telling them they are using their name to sell dogs
-
Stupid idea, too much could go wrong, but then they are probably catering for people who treat dogs like humans, plenty around
-
Because they are a big money making machine and have lost sight of what they are supposed to do, i hate them
