  1. Just curious, if 2 staffys were "attacking" a swf, while the owner is out cold wouldn't the dog have had injuries? Not saying it didn't happen.
  2. You got far more than i did when i was looking for a mature dog from a breeder recently To be honest, i would have written an email about myself, my experience with the breed, and my family set up, and asked it they had anything suitable, you need to sell yourself a bit, however i did all this, and got no replies! At least they replied, and they did ask you to call. Perhaps they prefer to contact by phone, some do. To be honest, without the help of a doler in my breed who pm'd me, and found a mature bitch looking for a home, i may have given up.
  3. Good post Stayclam Fostering isn't about making us feel good, we do it to help the animals, i provide all food and flea treatment for mine, i could ask for some ( and have recently had dog food), but i choose to help that way. We all get dogs that come with surprises, i have kept a couple who were turned out to be terminally ill, it happens. You have to except the good with the bad.
  4. Poppy, bleach won't kill parvo, you need f10. It also lives in the ground, so anywhere the pup has been. Your dog will probably be fine, try not to stress. Just remember it lives for upto 10 years in the ground, if you ever think of bringing home an unvaccinated pup again. Its hard to tell in the pound, a dog can look fine and go down a few days later.
  5. It does really work, i know when i am due as coakroach's start to appear, and we get alot of spiders, white tips, and redbacks. I couldn't go without it now, but i did try a different company once when i moved, and they were rubbish, so its worth paying for a proper job.

Ok, i don't agree with it, but dogs tied on the back of ute trays is worse, and far more common, nobody reports them. Plus one day while i was at the pound there was a huge livestock truck outside, the guys were at the pound looking for a bull arab type, they had several kelpie's in the empty truck running around, it was empty, but underneath the truck was a cage, like this, where the dogs were kept when the truck was full of livestock, they loaded the bull arab they bought into it to head all the way back home. Was scary for the poor boy who had been a surrender with a small fluffy living in surburbia.
  7. Have you got any benedryle? how is he in himself? vet is a good idea.
  8. Ihave mine sprayed every year, i put the dogs in the garage while he does outside, then let them straight out. Never had any problems, i always use the same guy, the house is dripping from the roof ,and he sprays in the roof and inside too.
  9. I saw these in my local petshop today, they are really nice, but were $49, might get one now i can get them cheaper
  10. Ot, but how do you stop a mouthy dog, i have one, she is 3 and gets mouthy when excited, and yes has grabbed my hand instead of the tug once, her eye set doesn't help though. PM is fine, just need to know, as atm i just stop playing and walk away.
  11. I think its a great idea, as the owner of a dally who has had a blockage due to stones. They are the only breed with this problem, and if it can be removed that has to be good, sour grapes if you ask me
  12. Mine are outside all the time, but i am here most of the time.Back gate is padlocked, fences are 6ft ontop of 3ft retaining walls, and trellis on the top with jasmine growing wildly over the top! However since having my BT i am very paranoid about her being stolen, if anyone stops to ask i tell them she is desexed( she is). The other day i was walking home and some guys were delivering yellow pages, they got into a car to go in my street, then saw her, and were staring, turned around and drove slowly up the road, came back again. I ended up walking way past my house till they had gone, i also took the number plate, car ,date etc.
  13. my gates are all padlocked, so they couldn't get out. I have 3 dogs, so expensive to put them into kennels for that long, but i would want them walked twice a day, which is a big ask for a sitter, but i would be prepared to pay . Will look into some sites for sitters.
  14. I was thinking more of someone actually living here while i was away? i agree, wouldn't leave them otherwise.
  15. I really don't know wether to put my dogs into kennels for a month while i go oversea's, or to use a housesitter. Downside with kennels, i would need to stop mail, bins , have someone come check the pool is ok every week ( overflow if it chucks it down), i also have budgies outside, and fish inside. Dogs would need c5's each ( currently all c3).Dogs in kennels for a month is a long time Upside with kennels, i know the dogs are safe, house is clean as i leave it, bit of a clean freak Worry about dogs with a stranger if they got out etc? I have never had a pet/house sitter, has anyone had good or bad experiences they can tell me about?
  16. I have a rogz martingale on Bonne, ( but pink of course ), i have flat ones on the other 2 ,but she has a habit of stopping too, and flat ones slip over her head. However, i did learn my lesson when i left it on at home, and she laid down next to a wrought iron table with twirly bits on, sat up, got the ring caught on a loop on the table and nearly stangled herself dragging the table around I use leather custom made leads on mine, love them. Ot, but how gorgeous are GSD pups! ( especially ish's ones)
  17. Petstock sell them, itook my bully in to try one on, they encourage you to take dogs in
  18. I had loads of great boy names when i was looking for my new BT, but there aren't many cool girl names All the names i picked didn't suit her when she arrived, she was 3, and was called 'Jazz" which she didn't know, and i hated My previous bt girls were, Roadie, and Razzle. I liked, Nell Grace Lilly. She got "Bonner" ( short for Bonnerville)
  19. bullies "moon walk" or 'trance". all mine except this one have done it, very odd
  20. Different breeds play differently, bull breeds play very hard! And its alway a contact way of playing, my bully does it, i only let her play with dogs than can deal with it, funnily enough though, my neighbours cav loves her Labs are a great sparring partner for them too. My cattle plays very differently, herding, stalking, and lots of running around, my bully just stands watching him i think the match maybe wrong unless she can deal with it now .
  21. Yep, my new bully does it She eats her own and anyone else's too! In fact my poor dally is nervous about pooing near her as i shout at her and he thinks he is in trouble, so have had to stop.I really hate it! She is 3 and was a kennel dog from a breeder, which is the excuse i was given, still gross's me out thogh.
