I doubt the show dogs could hunt for 3 hours. Personally i think it a darn disgrace, and am sick of poeple saying they breed to better the breed.... crap. Judges need to stop placing dogs who can't do the job they were bred for, end of story.

I feel really sorry for the breeder who is doing all the right things. I would step away if i was you, she is not going to admit she is in the wrong, and is blaming the breeder for her change of heart. The breeder could just keep the pup and offer her nothing, which is what she deserve's right now.

I am sure more knowledgeable people will advise ou better about Bassets, but my thoughts are, she may welll not appreciate a young pup jumping all over her. She may well have health issue's they havn't told you about ( poeple lie to offload their dogs). I would be vary careful and do some research on the breed before you take her on. old dogs are great, i love them, but make sure you know what you are in for first, and have somewhere she can get away from the pup too.

Hi Daveri, there are some good bully breeders on here. I had a similar problem when looking for a new bully girl, breeders didn't reply, with the help of dolers who recommended me to a breeder i now have a great girl who came from interstate. :D Go in to the bully thread, but "Perianth" breeds mini's and standards i think, and 'Chopperlodge" is in QLD. I would try pming them to ask for advice, bully breeders are VERY particular about where their pups go.

Dog transport company, they travel by road, my girl came up from breeders in Victoria with them, have used them many times.

I agree with Bite Me, some dogs used for breeding are ok, but they may have never been socialised, you maybe walking into a big problem, and don't feel guilty about not taking them, someone else will. Do you really want a pup? How about looking at rescue dogs in foster homes, there is "Staffy Rescue." Foster dogs live with famileis till they find a home, so you will know what they are already like with kids and other dogs, they have all their vet work done, and if it doesn't work out they take the dog back. This goes for other breeds too ,if you decide on something else. Other choice would be to go to a breeder. there are lots of options, don't rush into it because they are there, its a long time to live with it.

Does he go to the park at a regular time? Perhaps ring the rspca with his number plate, but also tell them when he goes to the park, it needs to look like somewhere there reported him, don't mention you know him, just you see him at the park. They may wait till he comes one day.

How about looking at a mature breeders dog? You can often find young dogs under 12 months much cheaper like that. My biggest worry would be getting a healthy well put together one.

No idea if this woud work, but can you take down his car number plate and report him to the RSPCA? Not sure if they have the power to trace him that way? Would just look someone at the park reported him then.

I used to use Priceless pets, but found ebay cheaper for Advocate. Only problem is the cheapest one takes 2 weeks to arrive, bought 3 times, and its really annoying. Next time i won't use them.

i would be asking at least $25 a night, he if she doesn't want to pay it, let her go to the hassle of finding kennels. it has to be worth enough for you to want to do it, or just say no.

Could be lots of things, food guarding, or at her age she has moved herself higher up. Either way i would be getting help, and don't feed her anywhere near the other dogs or kids. I have a female bt too, who elevated herself too high recently, with the wonderful help of K9 Pro i now have her where she should be. When you have other dogs and kids you need to be very careful.

Ot, but i think anyone who brings a dog to do a house inspection is a bit rude. What if your resident dog didn't like it, fosters should be met on nuetral territory and then brought home.
