  1. That Bull terriers are good with kids. First question is normally " why would you have one of those dogs when you have kids ? " That dallys are stupid and destroy everything, mine must be broken then
  2. The panda shep is gorgeous, lovely put together dog
  3. Vinyl throughout the whole house, its hard wearing, and you can have tiled look ,or wood ,in loads of colours, i have 10 different designs in my place with a big mosiac in the hall.
  4. outside with the hose, they hate it, so i can't "setup" first, or the know whats happening and hide at the back of their kennels they hardly ever get done, as they swim in the lake most days, so pointless
  5. Where to start Fat cats at the top, big money making organisation. Too much uncontrolled power. Temp tests which would fail certain dogs on breed alone. Their tv showed what morons they are
  6. This will get worse. It will not fix itself. One will die if you do nothing and it happens while you are out, yes it will then be your fault. Is she aggressive to all dogs, or just the other bitch? Yes,you were trying to pass the buck, in your first post you said you needed to rehome her. Step up and do something about it, saying you love her like a child isn't going to fix anything. Aggression is a behavoir, so why don't you think it will help. Too many good dogs die everyday that rescue can't help, no one will take on a DA one. :D You probably got the same good advice the first time, hope you listen this time.
  7. You don't have my option, , outside mostly, inside if i please, not them My dogs lived outside 24/7 until this winter when 2 really felt the cold as they were getting old, so they came in to sleep. Since then i have changed ,and they are allowed in after dinner, only downstairs, and not on any furniture. I put them back out when i go to bed in summer, they can sleep inside in winter, on their beds, not mine And i think its rude to judge people without seeing their setup etc on whats right and wrong. I defy anyone to see my dogs and think they are hard done by. Mine get walked twice a day, no matter what the weather is.
  8. Yep, i had a 5 month old GSD come charging over to me last week, young girl had no control over it at all, i had to stop for her to catch it, and it started to hump my cattle boy much to his annoyance. I was very friendly, asked her about him, then gently said she might want to be careful who she lets him run up to, as not many people would feel happy about a gsd charging upto them. I try to be nice to people, always gets a better response i was young and niaeve too once, and thought just because my dog was friendly it was ok, i now know differently.
  9. Wow, didn't she grow up to be a beauty Has she turned out to be how you expected? Any surprises you didn't expect? Of course you can't get me past the best dogs in the world, but lappies sure are cute
  10. I don't believe mine was luck, or anything i did in particular, i think he was always going to be an even tempered dog. However, many people often comment on how well behaved my dogs are, and how relaxed they are, so i also think it has to do with how they are treated, exercise, etc., to a degree.
  11. Yep, i have one ,and i think he must be a broken dally, or just pure luck on my part :D He has never been a chewer, barker, puller. He is rock solid with other dogs, will tell off a pup if it leaps all over him, has taught many fosters. But will avoid conflict. He is outside most of the time, i can leave the back door open and he won't come in. He has brilliant recall. He is tolerant of most things. He will bark if anyone comes near the house. He has started to come in and sleep, and he surfes the kitchen floor for scraps, then heads to his bed and nods off . I can honestly say he is and always has been very easy, he is now 10. ( Won't mention he hates cats :D )
  12. Just trying here on the off chance anyone is travelling up from the southern highlands sunday arvo. I have a young bully ,very sweet, who need a lift to sydney. He has a lift as far as the highlands from queanbeyn , but needs to get as close to me as poss, i'm near Blacktown. Any help very much appreciated
  13. Another vote for the seniors website I too would hate to think one day i would be without a dog, they give you purpose too. Older dogs are much easier, i prefer them! Going to push the greyhound angle too
  14. so sorry simple, bullys are very special. take care.
  15. I love foxes, but then i grew up in fox hunting county in the uk, beautiful looking creatures. However i had friends who hunted them, who were farmers, and i realise they do cause havoc. I would report them too. We have one here often see it on my lawn, my dally met it once and wanted to play with it
  16. Is it possible for them to meet on nuetral territory to see how they get along? Do you know much about the new dog? It could go either way, Chloe could have a new lease of life with a buddy, my neighbours bought a cattle pup when their other dog was 16, and the old dog loves him ( well did,he was stolen 3 weeks ago ), i have never seen such an old duffer play bow ;) However, Chloe could get annoyed with a youngster too. Only you know Chloe, and wether she is comfortable. Perhaps give it a go, and if it doesn't work out, then rehome the young one. They will take a while to settle down aswell. ;)
  17. So sorry, i lost my old rescue bt 2 weeks ago to it aswell. He made 4 months after diagnosis, really didn't effect him till the last 2 days, they do go quickly then. Did he have a biopsy or needle aspiration to confirm it?
  18. My 10 year old son was in tears too, and my daughter left the room I wish the rspca woman had been a bit clearer in her response, she was asked what people should do ,and a clear answer would be" do not buy from petshop's or over the interenet" simple, but it was a bit cloudy.
  19. I have one Bought it for mase from parklea markets, much cheaper than anywhere else. Really easy to clean, just wipe it down, and machine wash the fleecy cover. iIhave the large one, xl would suit your 2
  20. Glad things are going ok so far. Tango could be giving him 'puppy allawance " atm, it may change as the pup gets older? Dont consider dallys a hard breed, if you fulfill their needs, mine has been the easiest dog i have owned, and rock solid in temp, perhaps compared to my other breeds of choice (bt's and cattles') they seem easy
  21. wow, what a stunner, love the really spotty ones ;) nope, much older methinks
  22. I used one of Ceasar Milans technique's, ( sure i will get flamed :D ), but it did work. My cattle dog can be aggro onlead, even if he has just beeen playing offlead with them, if they bark at him on lead he launches at them. so, i tried the trick where you prod them quickly in the side to distract them, not hard, but makes him jump and take note of me, he soon stopped doing it. ;)
  23. Be honest with yourself, labs are big and boisterous, lots in the pounds around 9 months of age, when that small pup jumping up has become 30kgs of dog, knocking over a screaming child. If you can't commit to taking it for at least one good walk a day, don't do it. I would suggest a goldie? bit calmer, an older dog, lab or goldie rescue? They have older dogs needing homes, and can match you up. I don't agree with saying kids under 5 shouldn't have dogs, i did it, my son was 6 months old when i got my dally pup, but i put alot of time into my dogs. Its all about matching the right breed and dog to your situation, and being honest with the time you have.
