My Dog Has Dog Suddenly Started Eating Poo
BC Crazy replied to GoldenGirl85's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
Sorry to be a party pooper, sorry for the pun LOL . Neither worked for my girl. Infact I have tried pretty everything & the only thing that does work here is to remove it asap. When we are out anywhere I keep a keen eye on her otherwise she will even now at almost 2 years old eat it or maybe roll in it, depending on the day. -

Love that I hope my order comes complete with a new Border -
I thought I read that puppy wasn't getting any. Maybe I just read it wrong. Only human but a concerned one for the welfare of animals.
-
Folks I think you have a point regarding him escaping his yard as he may get injured or worse. I hadn't thought about that side of things I was more looking at the aspect of pup not getting any interaction/attention.
-
Disagree! The pup's hardly a few weeks old, and should have had supervised, intermittent training. I would've removed the whole dog. And that would be theft. Where do you get the idea you are above the law and can break it in your righteous indignation. What a cheek! Not in my value system. Our social responsibility and obligation to protect the weak and defenseless is precisely why the law exists. I don't care if they're mistreating; a puppy, their children, or bashing each others brains out, I am be bound to intervene in some manner. I would of intervened in this instance too. I just feel for the poor puppy. Hardly any guidance/attention/training or love by the sounds of it Why bother getting one in the first place

Which Rescues Have Fundraising Calendars?

Hi Mita, HAR are also doing a book this year called "best friends" which will be out before xmas. I was in a photo shoot recently with my 2 BC's to help raise money for a cause very close to my heart. So hopefully very soon it will be on sale. Don't know the cost as yet but I was thinking it would make an excellent chrissy gift :) -

We've all been buying from the "what ships free" section, so we are not having to pay any postage. It makes many of the toys, like Kong products, very affordable! There are a few things I want from the rest of the site, but I decided to resist! Same but god it was tuff LOL. -
Such a cute Tiny very cheeky, naughty boy. I so want one

That's funny. Acadamy award winning stuff !! I watched another video that was also just after that one on the same link. Unbelievable !! A Kelpie balancing on a chain fence, so darn clever

Aidan2, I did ask my vet about this issue & he said that he wouldn't advise me to use anything with the Edep. You can with some other anti depressants but not with that particular one. -

Hankdog for Jake. He is certainly progressing well. Great work Well I came home beaming with pride yesterday. Stella did me proud !! We were at our local beach , it was really quiet so we were having a great game of fetch & a lovely swim when onto the beach within 20 feet of us came 4 pitbulls, on leads thank god, I called Stella to me & asked her to sit with her back to the passing pits who were straining their necks to get to us. She sat like an angel, only looked over her shoulder once, small growl but nothing over the top, then continued to look at me as I occasionally feed her her absolute fav treats, small pieces of BBQ steak. I asked her to remain seated till the 4 pits were well & truly out of sight which was quite a long time. Stel didn't move a muscle & remained totally focused on me I actually got a bit teary, ridiculous I know after I released her to go play again & told her what a good girl she'd been but I was just so proud of her -

Panzor Attack, thanks for your thoughts. Very kind of you :) Glad to hear your Scooter is improving on meds. I didn't realise he doesn't like to be cuddled as such. That must hurt I would think. I feel for you. Us humans do tend to take things far to personally though when I really don't think Scooter actually means it that way. If that makes sense. I must admit I would take it to heart though. I have had my share of difficult dogs but I am blessed to have Sonny , my 4 year old bc boy who is just divine. I haven't had much of a chance to talk of him as miss Stella seems to take up most of time. He is a very placid fella. Loves to play ALL of the time. Also is an excellent pal & role model for Stella. They just adore each other. Stella is much more of a cuddle pot though. While Sonny is effectionate, Stella is gushingly so. They are all so very different & all have there own quirky little ways about them. -

Thanks for confirming that for me Aidan. I didn't think you could mix the two. I am always very careful with any form of meds as you can do much more harm than good if administered incorrectly :) -

I haven't tried Good as Gold Aidan. Sounds interesting Did try Behave bet it didn't agree with Stella, tummy upsets & didn't seem to benefit her at all really behaviour wise either. Do you know if you can use these type of products with meds like Endep? As I am aware humans can't use say St johns wart will taking Endep. -
Awwwweeee !! what a cutie !! She has one blue eye. She is also one very lucky girl. Congrats T

So sorry for your loss Luvsdogs. What a lovely girl Sooty was with her flying nun ears. Beautiful. She was meant to be part of your family. A lovely, loyal friend for your son. R.I.P. dear Sooty, run free lovely girl

Yep. It's just the 'uglies' at 5 months old I would think. I don't know much about Lab's but most BC's certainly have been hit the ugly stick at around that age too. All legs & just plan out of proportion. My girl was really gorky at that age. She looked awful, really leggy with a little head & this whopping big tail. She is simply gorgeous now & yes I am very bias :p I wouldn't be trying to speed anything up Just follow what the breeder has said to feed her. Too many things can go very badly wrong if you start to mess around with her too much IMHO :)

Oh Megan, what a little trooper Lucy is. I didn't know she was a rescue with a lot of issues in the beginning from the sound of it. You have done wonders with her then & you should be very chuffed with yourself I had a rescue for almost 15 years with a tonne of issues as well. He was my heart dog, I just adored him & miss him very much. He was extremely difficult to handle at first. All fear related issues & never socialised. I couldn't get near him at first either, he wouldn't come out form under my house for a whole week till I crawled under there on day 8 & just laid under there with him all the while inching him closer to daylight, while he trembled uncontrollably with fear It took him a long while to trust me & he was very much a one person dog but from that day on he was my velcro boy  To watch him overcome such adversity & mature into the wonderful boy he became will always be something very, very special to me. -
I have a sample of K9 Natural in the cupboard but was unsure about how exactly to use it. It's kinda strange to me in that you just add a bit of water to it & that's it. But that's just my thoughts. Sounds like a lot of people are very happy with it though. I have just started Sonny on Big Dog Barf Kangaroo patties which he loves in the hope that his coat will improve after a food intolerance of some sort. There is nowhere around our area that sells it though so I drive 2 hour round trip to pick it up for him. It comes in small portions I think from memory 200g's each. I pay about $26 per box of 12 patties. He gets 1 & 1/3 pattie + small meaty bone or 1/2 small chic frame. + 1 treat of an evening, usually 1/2 a vege pig's ear.

On last nights news they interviewed the young man & his mum. Seemed like a really nice young fella who seemed more concerned about the young kids from the primary school, having witnessed such a blood bath than the fact that he had raced up the street with his ear in his hand & put it in the freezer trying to save it, to no avail. It was unable to be reattached. Doc's are now going to make him a new ear out of his rib cartlidge. Just amazing. His dog was with him & he looked a picture of health, so he is one very lucky dog. Both of the dogs involved have been pts.

Stella is at her best of a night. She usually goes to bed in her crate at around 9.30 & you don't hear a thing from her. She settles perfectly. I let her out at 6.30ish am. If she needs to go to the loo during the night which is seldom she will bark, once, & thats it.She is an angel of a night :) Had to edit just to add that if there is thunder storms or cracker night is on or there is rowdy neighbours , Thundershirt works wonders :)
