Plus 1 from me. I too hope Roo is OK. Deplorable behaviour smacking a dog in the face. Stay well away from this establishment by the sound of this folks.

Sorry to hear of your friends loss ruthless Ticks are such insidious little things I think this year is shaping up to be a really bad year once again for them. Our winter has just been so mild really. My Vet has already had a few dogs in with quite large ticks on them & is stocking up on the antivenin in anticipation unfortunately.

The busy free way is what really worries me too. He will have no road sense if he is a farm boy. The noise alone would be enough to frighten the pants off him Yes Powerlegs, I agree with you. I doubt whether Eddie would settle to well in Newtown when he is a country lad at heart. Gosh I hope we get some good news soon. Cattle dogs are a very bright breed & extremely faithful. Also very resilient & he will need to be. As long as he can stay safe long enough to be rescued -
I have used both spray and a collar with no positive effect unfortunately. Thundershirt does help with my girls anxiety levels.

Bummer... I was hoping after yesterday someone may have caught him at Buladelah but Poor fella There is so much bush in that area too. Buladelah is by passed by the freeway now too.So you actually have to turn off to go there. But he 'maybe' was there yesterday. Who knows where Eddie is now Hope someone finds him -
I thought they would be around as the weather hasn't been that cold here for winter. I have been checking daily. I do both my guys with Advantix every 2 weeks all year around. Darn things, I hate them. Thanks for the heads up dogbesotted :)

Yes Powerlegs Lost & found is very quiet atm isn't it? which is great but not if you want get people's attention. I just hate to hear of missing dogs. Breaks my heart. The thought of them running frightened /injured etc So if they could be in or near my area I will always help out if possible. -

Oh It is Eddie & someone can catch the poor lad. Buladehlah is about 1 hour north of me. Lots of bushland around that area + the very busy highway. Least it's a possible start. You are probably right about moving thread. I will just follow it on Lost & found as I did notice it on there. Sorry folks -

No news yet I gather I will keep a look out again this morning. You just never know. -
Yes persephone some females sure do hump. My desexed girl does when she is excited. She doesn't do it to me or my other BC male, just the air for a few seconds. Usually just after we finish a game of tugs. My boy has never done it even when he was entire. I too prefer male dogs. IMO just easier to get along with & manage I have found :)

Exercising Reactive Dogs Thread

Hankodie. Come join the rest of us that are on the huge learning curve of owning a reactive pooch :) Your guys are so cute, especially Hank, got a major soft spot for baby retrievers Well you have got a double whammy, a reactive girl with pretty major health issues. Poor little Frenchie Sounds like you are doing a terrific job thus far. I have a very reactive girl who is as healthy as & I struggle to cope at times, so I can only imagine how difficult it must be to have a pup with both health & behavioural issues. You have come to the right thread though. I have learnt heaps since joining in here. Everyone has been just so helpful & are fountains of knowledge. It's nice to know you are not alone too. My girl is a handful, very nervy/reactive/DA etc. So unleashed dogs are my worst night mare too. We are improving with the use of LAT & other methods. She is getting better with maturity as well. She is 2.5 now. Some days she is better than others. Today she was terrific so you lap up those days She is very biddable though so I have that as a major bonus. Anyway don't forget to stay calm & assertive as Caesar would say & enjoy !!! :D -

I don't know the Paterson area at all but there aren't any sale yards in Newcastle that I'm aware of. Know there are some at Maitland. Poor fella must be terrified Being hungry by now I hope he doesn't pick up one of those baits. What a nightmare for all concerned. The dangers are endless for him. I kept my eye's & ears peeled all morning as I have been out & about around our leash free dogs beach & surrounding bushland. No luck though. -
Excuse me for dropping in here but I love Sammies....Major cuteness alert Fluff1234. He is just to die for

That is so sad. Poor girl.

RIP Navey Run free now little mate. A huge thank you to you Anne & to the lady who adopted him. At least his latter years were loving & as comfortable as they could be.

Well done Jake. He is going so well. I too am very guilty of over rewarding Hankdog One lady I bumped into when I was out peeked into my bait bag & asked me if I was out with my dogs for the weekend because of the amount of goodies I had on me  No wonder Stella is so food driven. I do notice her following my hands alot with her eye's when asked to do anything. I really need to address it actually. -

BC Crazy replied to Rilla-My-Rilla's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
I think you & Rilla are going so wonderfully well. She is still very young. So you have time on your side. From my very limited understanding of dog sports, obedience it is very structured compared to RO. So I would stick with RO for a while if that is what you both have the most fun doing. I think having fun & feeling comfortable is really important. That is what it is all about isn't it? As beautiful Rilla matures the sky will be the limit for you to. Hats off to both of you I reckon I would love to be in your shoes one day & have a dabble in dog sports :) -

Oh Miss Rilla does look very proud of herself She is all grown up now. Well done girl :) She has ears like my girl. One of Stella's is flat & the other side is perfect, like an envelope. Just adds to their individuality & quirkiness  -

Yirks !!! Good on you for helping CC That would of been so scary for everyone including the poor pooch. Glad he didn't seem too injured. Could of been a a hell of a lot worse We always install a cargo barrier to help keep our 2 as safe as possible. You see some poor dogs half hanging out of windows or unrestrained in the back of utes is one that really amazes me as they fly around corners. The poor dog is barely able to stop from skidding from side to side. -
