  1. And people wonder why breeders feel the need for contracts. Glad you find it so funny. I'd find it funny too, obviously the breeder doesn't care too much if they haven't kept in contact about this mystery litter they sprung on the buyer after they purchased it!
  2. My guess is the OP found http://www.naturalrearing.com/ and decided it was all fantastic and true and amazing. Even all the "natural rearing" sites I've found say they vaccinate as required by law, but then don't continue on Edit: (my *extensive* search was limited to two pages on google :p )
  3. Lol trust me, we are the least brainwashed bunch you will come across, we just love our dogs and don't feel the urge to put them at risk of harm unnecessarily.
  4. If you're worried about him getting to her, can you get a belly band on him to stop him actually doing anything?
  5. I'm not saying it's right in any way whatsoever, but the fact is they are probably still trading due to having customers sign release forms. That is, releasing the facility of any responsibility. I'm not sure if these release forms hold up under scrutiny so if this is the case it may be worth looking into. What a bloody heartbreaking, tragic & unacceptable situation. There is a PDF of terms and conditions on their website which is, indeed, a release form. Not one that I'd be happy to sign at all, especially in light of Dingbat's experience. Dingbat I'm so sorry for your loss, what an awful way to lose little Jack. I don't think those releases actually release them from liability though, as much as people like to think they do.
  6. +1 Max's papers didn't come for weeks, so don't be surprised if you don't get them. I'd want to know more about the puppy and his/her habits and schedules than papers - they can all be mailed!
  7. Haha, poor girl! She's adorable, but will probably get called a boy because of the boofy looks
  8. What is "BARF"? BARF generally just means a pre-made raw food patty with meat and veggies and other yummies. There are many brands, not just the one given below. Google "barf dog food" and you'll get some good results. BARF doesn't mean patties at all - it stands for "Biologically Appropriate Raw Food" or "Bones and Raw Food". The patties were only developed relatively recently, and seem to be different to what true raw feeders feed anyway (they don't help teeth, for example). I know, but generally people mean the pre-made patties when talking about BARF. I don't know many people who say BARF when they mean raw (as in, bones and fresh meat & veg)
  9. Ah, cute! Dimples definetly had a huge head on him! They are both gorgeous though
  10. Dingbat, I'm lost for words And on top of that, they never contacted you to apologise or explain? How are they still in business?
  11. And take some photos when they are being cute and sleepy. Everyone loves a sleep puppy!

  13. Basically, once you sell something, it's no longer yours to say what can be done with it. Occasionally you may find a contract to be held up, but this is realllly rare. So, no. If you sell a dog undesexed and someone breeds it - you're a bit silly for selling it undesexed if you didn't want it to be bred with!
  14. Nothing prevents the risk of choking, but it can lower it. My guys still swallow frozen chicken necks without chewing.
  15. Haha, I can't go to the toilet alone either! Max immediatly brings me a toy to throw for her ("Hey, seeing as though you're sitting there doing nothing, how about you play with me!") and Boston tries to get in to see what's going on, or eat my undies (typical boy )
  16. Great calcium! agreed, Gus gets the WHOLE thing :) dogs can breakdown bones they can break down egg shell haha its great calcium and no waste... I leave whole ones in the back yard for Gus to hunt :) he loves it. I feed raw too but I haven't fed egg shell because I was of the impression that the edible bones in the diet was enough for the calcium side of it. You don't have to feed the shell. Some dogs love it though. I normally don't because mine will only eat the shell if I disguise it, crushing it up into a powder. Plus they primarily get their eggs scrambled
  17. I wondered that too! Seems like pointless sugar. Plus chicken liver, yogurt, honey, olive oil and egg could be quite a rich introduction. I wouldn't give my guys all that at once and they have been on a raw diet basically since they were born (ok, well since they were weaned lol)
  18. My dogs have raw chicken bits as a large part of their diet and are perfectly healthy and happy. I store them appropriately, as I would food I consume myself, and have never had a problem with salmonella etc
  19. If shes telling you she doesnt need lunch, I'd listen to her and stop feeding lunch. All pups work on their own schedule!
  20. Sounds like he's turned peeing inside/going outside/coming back inside/going ouside into a fun game! Might need to re-work things a bit to make it a bit more exciting for him to pee outside, ie: a nice treat or play session when he pees outside. If I catch my pup peeing in the wrong spot, he gets growled out and put outside on his own for 5 minutes, with no interaction. Being ignored can be a pups worst punishment, especially if they are with you 24/7!
  21. Why do you leave it there for him to play with
  22. Do you rotate her inside toys, so she always has "new" toys to play with instead of getting bored with the same ones and therefor looking for stimulation elsewhere (ie: the new chair toy!)
