New Show Clothing Business Name Suggestions
minimax replied to capanash's topic in General Dog Discussion
Honestly, keep the name simple and non-wanky and let your products speak for themselves :p -
The Eeyore one is pretty cute, but needs to be a chubbier/fluffier dog to get the real Eeyore look lol
-
Hi Josuki, SUI - normally refers to Switzerland CHL - normally means Chile Cheers, Pip. EFS If you want to get technical, the ISO country code for Switzerland is CH, the Olympic Country code for Switzerland is SUI ;) However, CHL is the ISO Country Code for Chile.

Ab Negative Blood Needed Urgently
minimax replied to Lab Rescue NSW/ACT's topic in Dog Rescue (General Rescue Discussion)
A good reminder for anyone, of any blood type, that donating blood saves lives - so if you are eligible to donate, please go and do so! -
Re-read the bolded parts of your post again, pretending it's someone else's post and not yours - what advice would you give them?

I Thought I'd Heard And Seen It All
minimax replied to a topic in Dog Rescue (General Rescue Discussion)
Those puppies are adorable! I just can't understand someone surrendering their 15 year old, especially not after putting her through a litter at that age -
Yep, one of my pugs is constantly chewing on something - I think he has an oral fetish! I keep the backyard clean so all he has to chew on are sticks and little gumnuts but when out walking he picks up anything that fits in his little mouth, especially coke bottle lids and rocks! My other pug loves picking up cigarette butts and gross things. My youngest doesn't yet have a reliable "leave it" (hes only 5 months) but luckily the 11 month old is pretty good with her "leave it" command. Have you taught an ignore and/or give command to get your dog to ignore items and to spit things out?

They will also come and rescue you from big scary spiders if you call them in tears
-
I've never seen one close up/alive like that Looks like it's legs are all bunched up near it's head, like Stormie's pic of a para tick. But ew, what a creepy looking guy

The first thing that came to mind was Mound of Desire Also using synonyms can be good, rather than limiting yourself to using the same words. For example, sparkle, sparkling, sparks, majestic, regal, crystal, gem, admire, admiration, fancy (Tickle my Fancy!), Could even go a baseball name if you're into that, with diamond lol I prefer creative links when it comes to linking parents and puppies names. For example, my pups dad is *** Without a Trace, and my pup is **** Missing in Boston, just mixing around the same words is kind of boring, I think. I love the Alice in Wonderland theme!

Love that attitude But totally absurd that the fire brigade has to be called and the group who is supposedly working for "all creatures, great and small" couldn't find a resource to help a creature stuck up a tree!

Feeding Some Fluffies On A Budget
minimax replied to persephone's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
Sounds like they already get fed a decent diet, and the snack is more for the owners peace of mind than the dogs benefit! I'd give the dogs a bone for a "snack", more than a pointless snack of lentils etc -
PR seem to like re-inventing the wheel!

Yep, I'd go a nice lamb shank!

I've not used eGlobal before, but I know some of you have - what do their shipping status's mean? I've got two items (not camera items, don't get too excited. Just posted in this thread coz I know some of you guys buy cameras and accessories from them  ), one is "Packing & Delivering soon" and one is still "Processing". Once it gets to "Packing & Delivering soon" how long until it normally arrives? It's been on that for two days (and I ordered it 24 hours AFTER the one stuck on processing ) I have no patience, I want my stuff! Annnd to make this on topic, have a photo of my bribing Boston to come into the water during his first ever trip to the beach!

Sounds like the perfect candidate to become a judge! (and I mean that sarcasticly, it wasn't a put-down of judges)

This is the beach at Bayview, we were here just yesterday
-
That water is gross, I wouldn't put my dogs in it. I'm in that water regularly because I do dragon boat training on Blackwattle Bay and it's just dirty and polluted and foul.
-
What part of Sydney? Our favourite is in Bayview, on the northern beaches. It's a dog park & dog beach and is great for all sized dogs. I've never come across a dog there that didn't have appropriate behaviour, unlike most off-leash dog parks!

Haha cool :D

You might need to just google, I know you want personal recommendations, but seriously it's a bed and a roof! http://www.takeabreak.com.au/SydneyWest/Pet-Friendly/accomodation.htm You can probably find reviews online of specific places.

Your dog doesn't have a pedigree. A pedigree is a written record of ancestry generally recognised by the breed body (although not always). That doesn't make him a crossbred. You bought a baby puppy. How you've concluded that he will never have tear stains I cannot fathom. It has a range of causes and many of them have little to do with genetics. Any white dog with a depressed immune system may have them at some stage. They can often be successfully resolved. Why you seem to feel the need to keep on about this issue I cannot fathom. Not everyone is suggesting your dog is crossbred. We get your point. Personally I think you got spun a yarn. You have to jump through quite a few hoops to get prefix and unless the breeder was in hospital for months, I don't see how they were prevented from applying (provided they met the criteria). But you are happy... and lets leave it at that. I'm sure the breeder of the dogs she owns is just thrilled about them producing unregistered pups. I've concluded that my puppy has a good chance of not ending up with tear staining BECAUSE his dam and sire don't have it, he doesn't have it nor do his littermates as opposed to other JS puppies that do have bad tear staining as well as the sire and dam. Good start, don't you think? As to your comment that you cannot fathom why I feel the need to keep on going about this issue? I thought it was obvious

Only if you have a small dog lol

Especially those countries like Vietnam where they boil them alive and eat them

My 5 month old seems to have a decent attention span in the evening, but I think that's because I'm at work during the day so he's left at home with my other (11 month old) pup and no other human contact, so when I get home he's very happy to focus on me! That said, my pup is very vague and is much happier wandering around the yard eating grass than paying attention to anyone at the best of times lol
