Blot as much out as you can with paper towels, regular towels. Then smother with kitty litter. Leave to dry. Vacuum up. Repeat if needed. Then get dishwashing detergent & start from the outside edge & clear in small patches. Dont flood the entire stain. Work & do more as you see the stain lifting. Takes a bit of effort. This is what I did with a one litre bottle of olive oil that I dropped & did not notice the lid allowed for seepage.

Your area has some good places. We went to visit this site ( on the recommendation of DOL-ers).... http://www.pets.net.au/packages.htm and http://www.janarlee.com.au/ 1st place looked like Paradise. Plenty of options offered for dogs at all stages of life. Owners were right on the ball. 2nd place is where a friend sends her dog. She has always sent her dogs there over the years. Good planning ahead. That means you can make sure Ernie gets exactly what you want. :D
