  1. Not pound rounds so much as just random people with big hearts but no idea. It's driving me insane. I think you must watermark/copyright the photos. It should help. I think that is rude to interfer with your work, tbh. If you are being kind enough to attempt rescues, then you do not need blow-ins doing damage.
  2. Please know we are all thinking of Zeus,& his family. Devote your time to his recovery & update when you can. Dont feel obliged to leave Zeus when he needs you more.
  3. Holy cr*p............ that is not the correct protocol. A puppy the size of Murphy does not need exercising per se. He needs to learn how to behave. At the very least ask your Vet. Not advice I would ever consider and never have. Good Luck
  4. A little bias there? Super lines of course.....
  5. Number one rule of boy dog ownership, Spoil the boy.... It is also the same for bitches as well. Beautiful photos.
  6. Sending good vibes and best wishes to you ALL, Dave73. Hoping for issues to be minimal.
  7. Lulu was so special. I used make a similar journey. Always would think Lulu had a smile just for me. Dear soul she was.
  8. Interesting point. The Hungarian Vizslas I knew in the USA were, without exception, the types that were wonderful to shoot over every day. They were the result of careful breeding.

  10. Or the elderly citizen unsteady on feet minding own business walking to the corner shop
  11. Vizslas that I know which had agility & obedience titles also had their show titles. :)
  12. Indeed, 10 pages of Handsome Hank merit formality. Stunning photos ! My, he is growing into a fine dog.
  13. pfftt.... six days would be bad. But for that long, ABHORRENT.
  14. For me, it simply shows the ignorance of people when I hear of any issues to do with Guide Dogs or Assistance dogs. Lack of tolerance exists. Yet if those same people were in the same position, I imagine they would demand their rights.
  15. Yay!! Double Yay!!!! Been looking forward to the update, sheena. Great news>
  16. Oh Bravo!!!!! Beautiful photos. Saw some old friends from Taronga Zoo.
  17. I feel such a klultz.... Rosetta, you are correct. Was off there. Sorry.... I have blonde moments.
  18. How do you know that? You sniff dog paws? :) Of course. Vizslas have webbed feet. After a day in the field hunting & working, we always do a 'paw' check. You would be surprised what one 'sniffs' there... We look for injuries & foregin objects. If one of the dogs is ever lame, I check there is no grass seed. Sometimes with my dogs, the wound starts to heal with the seed in situ. And man does that stink. Puppy paws I like to kiss on account of being besotted with cuddly puppies.
  19. That's how I would see it too. Hopefully the newspaper article will elicit offers from walkers. Except there is a dog trained to obey one person. Should the walker yell out anything, the Guide dog may react. What then? As we are aware fights start in split seconds, could a call off command or similar be given? I can not quite grasp how this might work... If it was feasible, why have the different Guide Dog assocations never espoused this for their clientele.
  20. I know of a retired Guide dog that was allowed to stay on living with his first & only human. The dog's name was Midas. He lived for several years after retiring, happy & treasured. He was also the best of friends with the second dog. They had the most amazing rapport.
  21. Risk there is anyone helping may not being aware of the (expected) behaviour of the Guide Dog when in harness. Principal is fine. Implementing may be more difficult. This is only my thoughts but this dog may need to be re-assessed to determine its ability to do its job at the most optimum level. Checks would need to be made to ensure no damage is done to the dog. What a horrible situation.
  22. HeeHee!! That gave me such a visual image. We practised turn & face me in class last night. Herbie was so not marking, however.
  23. The very first thing I was ever taught by my grandparents about dogs was Always ask the owner if it is acceptable to touch the dog. Never think it is OK otherwise. Basic dog etiquette. imho. Sighs.
