  1. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! The heart of a Vizsla could get broken at being left alone. I know of people in the eastern Suburbs Sydney who left their puppy alone 7 hours a day. Entire neighbourhood reproted its barking & howling. The damage to their yard was worthy of a battalion of engineers.
  2. Squeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!! I made a wish in the other thread for this boy to still have an association with the forum. Squeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee indeed! C'est magnifque
  3. Imported by his first owener who supposedly developed allergies after arriving here. Was another thread regarding the dog.
  4. I have this as part of the First Aid kit for humans and dogs. Great stuff.
  5. This not a pure breed DDB. Colours ( at this time ) in Australia can only be as follows (http://www.ankc.org.au/Breed_Details.aspx?bid=167) Self-coloured, in all shades of fawn, from mahogany to Isabella [lightish fawn]. A good pigmentation is desirable. Limited white patches are permissible on the chest and the extremities of the limbs. Mask: 1. Black mask: The mask is often only slightly spread out and must not invade the cranial [skull] region. There may be slight black shading on the skull, ears, neck and top of body. The nose is then black. 2. Brown mask: (Used to be called red or bistre [darkened or swarthy]). The nose is then brown; the eyerims are also brown. 3. No mask: The coat is fawn; the skin appears red (also formerly called "red mask"). The nose is then reddish or pink. I dream of this dog in those colours so I keep up to date with the standards. Not sure if there is any Cane Corso as colours like that are not usual. (Friends breed them in the USA so based on observing their dogs)
  6. Ours opens at 08:00am That excludes the phone calls made as well.
  7. Loving this boy, Wilson! Has loads of personality, for sure.
  8. As it is for humans, some breeds get very badly swollen 'sting' sites. They look as awful as they feel too. Found my breed (Hungarian Vizsla) can be the original tragic patient if bitten. eta: sorry for the incorrect quote
  9. Maybe a combination of adjusting to good food, mild tummy upset because of this good food. Has a blood panel been done recently? My old boy had one when I mentioned 'his smell'. He needed medication for his thyroid. Paws crossed for both of you.
  10. Needed as a means of protecting him as he recovers from the effects of the bee sting & its venom.
  11. Age and breed of George might help. How long has he been on that particular diet? One of the Vizslas has bad breath. His tooth had a build up of tartar.
  12. Loving the image of jammies and pipes! Any photos, please Stan
  13. Even humans need to be weaned off this type of medication. Since you are the eyes for your dog, it is more important in case of issues. Hope he recovers really quickly.
  14. Go over everything you can think that makes Bonnie enjoy herself. Use those methods to get her going. Neither of you are on a schedule really. You are a teenager with a fabulous dog that brings you happiness. Go wtih that approach for a while. Understand that owning and training a dog is ongoing. It may be that a reassessment is needed to help Bonnie. Ask yourself if you would like the methods those instructors are trying to make you do. If you do not truly like them & see their intrinsic value, revalue everything. Good Luck
  15. Have I ever told you I love your succint replies? Sounds like Bonnie & her environment do not gel. Thanks as always
  16. The Vizslas think that image in the mirror is a new friend to come to play. Slighlty OTT, years ago my cockatiel saw himself in the mirror AND attacked it. LOL. He was having no other bird to share with his Momma. S
  17. My dogs can not tolerate either of these products. Coloured poop is no great fun to clean up ever.
  18. Had the reverse about 6 weeks ago. The old boy of 14 years took himself out the open gate. (Neither humans noticed) He managed to wander off about 1/4 of a mile over a playground. People there found him and took him straight to their Vet. The clinic checked & found him microchipped. They tried the contact phone number. It was the land line. We were already out searching so noone answered the phone. Found the people and went to the Vet at once. Had to laugh, the Vet said we knew someone would turn up for this lovely quiet old boy. Said old boy heard my voice and started barking to be taken home. Vet said she did not believe how loud he barked. People should remember to update microchip details.
  19. They sure do. I've had the breed for 40 years and have seen many come and go over that time. I still love them. They are a true evergreen breed
  20. Dear Stan, I hope by magic the fridge is unlocked all day for the beautiful Birthday boy :birthday:
  21. Fine BUT this is still trauma to your body. I'll not go on either. Again HUGS & LOVE as always.
