  1. No failure that I see. You took time to try. You made more than one effort. Bottom line: you offered the wee dog a chance. That he was not responsive is not the point. You, as a stranger, out on a dangerous road, TRIED. Hold your head high.
  2. Why not just use a harness for short trips like that ? No lifting etc then ... That's the other option. Just a soft crate would be of use for overnight visits too. Not yet picked the 'ideal' harness and funds are a big factor as well. Looking at all options.
  3. Would this type be OK for car journeys less than 30 minutes duration? I'm looking for down the track. Hoping this type would work. My neck is riddled with arthritis & I am not sure of my own ability to handle a heavier crate.
  4. I have to ask!!!! Is there some sort of SPELL on DOL? I am thinking about this very topic ( soft crate) and there is an active thread. Excellent.
  5. The Vizlas do rubber dog sleeping acts.
  6. The anise section? What section is that? Please enlighten me. If megan used an iphone or similar, auto-correct migth have changed that to anise, instead of abuse.
  7. Encouraging to read of Stella's progress with the medication. I hope everything does settle sooner rather than later. This will take a while to even out but at least it's progress for sweet Stella. Hugs to you both
  8. I hear you! I get swayed by the wiggle-bum cuteness I am going to stalk this thread as well. Soft spot for Danes. (Dogs and men)
  9. Not going off topic, we reckon Herbie has the spirit of two earlier dogs that were professional counter surfers. Problem is the flooring is ceramic tiles. Means broken glass if I have been careless.
  10. My suggestion would be Luci and John Ellem, Austral. They do classes over 3 different times. Maybe your friend could speak to them. They could offer suggestions for training. As for success in the show ring, this couple certainly have it. Good Luck
  11. Love this analogy. Should you be that human beached whale, it's more like waiting for the tide to go OUT (Soz, too much info but you get my drift.)

    Sam

What a dear darling of a boy. I loved that photo of you both as you were recuperating after your surgery. But then the garden photo and the pose photo were as beautiful. Vale, Sivale Music Man. Sam, you did bring much music of love. Be free.
  13. That's a great site. Prices are excellent. Thanks
  14. Went to Hawkesbury Council. Gave our address. Was advised that a system like Innotech is permitted for the puppy. I would say it would be essential to check with your council and accurately describe the intended system.
  15. Bravo!!! Bravo!!! This is one of the most rewarding activities to do with a dog. Many friends have their Vizslak trained for this. Wonderful to see the dog in action. I am sure you recall that beautiful thread with the darling French lady who is visited by a therapy dog. It will be so rewarding. Do keep us posted please ( & photos).
  16. This can happen. Everyone is different. It's off-putting to find out a solution that works for some does not fit the bill for others. I am one of those that had no luck with either Slippery Elm or Psyllium for constipation as well. Made everything worse. However I have used the Slippery Elm for other ailments for myself with success. My efforts with the animals have been successful as well. :)
  17. Could you answer this question? Did you take those fine photos for yourself or for someone else? Have a small piece of chocolate with that coffee. Your photos are working. Trust yourself.
  18. Yes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Best thing you did to have Poppy checked. Woofs, Licks ( but no leans) from us to you
  19. Do you have an equivalent for a Vizsla? LOL. Herbie The Horrible is (almost) a professional counter surfer.
