  1. One of those I must keep that for later articles. LOL
  2. What do you mean the other end of the style scale? Stan is IT. Covered in a flanno & beanie or lounging au naturel, Stan is IT. Enough said. Dear adorable & stylish Stan. ETA: abject apologises to Maddie. Sweetie I missed you lounging and looking decadent. xxxx
  3. Amen to that. The girls were always worse than the boys. Most expensive talk cost a vet bill of $600.... a chomp on the ear between gals.
  4. They are totally adorable. Years ago, Taronga Zoo had several red pandas. They were the cutest of cute! One called MAyhem would make a regular break-out... http://www.australiangeographic.com.au/topics/history-culture/2011/06/great-zoo-escapes-confessions-of-a-zookeeper/ Classy red panda appeared to like the leafy surrounds of Mosman.
  5. That is delighful and so chic
  6. A smile between two friends, a nice meal together and a mutually beneficial time would be the cost I would ask.... Say you do not charge her, find out if she is hankering after a special gift or something. Give her that and it becomes a happy memory for her.
  7. Always gorgeous to see the photos. Like you I have been so lucky to have meet outstanding Rotties.
  8. That's great advice. Because of an issue with a neighbour, the front lawn was no longer wise to use. It took another period of adjustment to get Herbie to use the back yard. Treats sealed the business, so to speak. ETA: What type of adaptil was used?
  9. Spending $5000 was a good sign of caring owners. Her system has had a lot of trauma & chemicals. There are different products available that can help improve her general wellbeing.
  10. An unknown Vet might not accept non-vaccinated dogs.
  11. For me the Hungarian Vizsla suits its nickname, the Velcro dog. As part of birthday greetings we say Licks,Woofs & Leans from them.... That lean is like superglue. Amazing how a lean from one is always better than medicine
  12. Since the dog is poorly, I wonder if the owners would consider repairing its immune system. Maybe they could try to improve the dog's health? Hoping for a full recovery for the poor baby.
  13. I think the general idea is to not allow the dog a risk of being hurt by another dog until such time as you have him trained to accept your commands.
  14. Look at it this way............next hundreds might be for the dog's urn. With that type of history, a Vet should be consulted.
  15. All of your photos are so beautiful. It's like being at the Zoo in person. That is a touching tribute to Zwala. She appears a beautiful soul. I have heard of other chimps being wonderful Aunties without ever knowing motherhood themselves. Thank you so much for these. I love wildlife photos.
  16. By all accounts, the Show was a great success. I am going to come down to Victoria next year as a treat. Grumpette just let me know of the Sydney show later in the year. Great concept.
  17. I wonder if HazyWal could ask to see the article before it is published? You can ask and they will usually oblige. But you have to be around as they will generally email it about 10 mins prior to publication deadline and expect you will OK it immediately. The option is there for Hazywal. Hoping for success
  18. I so understand.... my horror is 23 weeks. He actually tried agility last week & was like a senior dog. The journey before he arrived was so exciting too.
  19. I wonder if HazyWal could ask to see the article before it is published?
  20. http://dogsnsw.org.au/resources/dogs-nsw-magazine/articles/health/171-vaccination.html I used this as a guide.... I gather the mating was successful and there will be a new addition soon? Lucky you.
  21. Like Staff'n'Toller said, it is a Nat Geo.... http://ngm.nationalgeographic.com/2011/03/taming-wild-animals/ratliff-text/2 Not sure of how long the video is on that site. There is, however, mention of it. Good Luck.
  22. We store it in a food standard 40litr drum with screw lid. The new puppy is the worst counter surfer of any of the vizslas. I don't reckon that even the gorgeous Stan could get this lid off to munch the contents.
  23. That must have been a big shock for the new owners. Lucky for the dog to be housed on a large enough property to contain him.
  24. The 'bird dogs' I lived with in the USA loved swimming. They were all taught to swim from about 9 weeks of age. All of them were naturals & loved water. Most I have meet in Australia swim. I have had many a great picnic with the Vizslas & a friend's pointers on the Murray River.
  25. Very safe idea. Good Luck and photos when you can of Murphy please.
