  1. Coalition For the Protection of Racehorses - Exposed at1tSpon8soruehdc · COALITION FOR THE EXTINCTION OF THOROUGHBREDS We have long tried to expose the facade of the Coalition for the Protection of Racehorses claims of "merely seeking reform of racing" and despite years and years of denials CPR have now openly declared their hand, saying racing is "beyond redemption" and they want "this industry to come to an end". Which was really never in doubt for anyone who has closely followed their decade of false and made-up claims. Today they teamed up with PETA Australia for a ridiculous protest at Flemington. But look past the tacky street theatre and at what the association with PETA means, which is even more concerning for genuine animal lovers. Just last week PETA Australia representatives conducted a bizarre interview on radio 3AW where they openly called for the end of any breeding of thoroughbreds, and also for the end of all breeding of any domestic animals, such as dogs or cats, beyond this generation - resulting in their ultimate extinction. Share this far and wide, because this is the agenda of these animal activist groups and the general public need to be aware. Animal rights groups are pushing for animal extinction, not animal welfare. The fact that their "protest" consists of five people looking ridiculous standing on an empty street just goes to show how hopelessly out of touch they are. Remember to use #LoveTheHorse #YupToTheCup hashtags when commenting on social media about horse racing on Cup Day. You can still be an animal lover and enjoy horse racing and the views of these activists groups are extremist. 3AW Interview: https://www.3aw.com.au/animal-activists-again-urge.../ https://www.facebook.com/CPRLies/photos/a.558490694231454/3555758631171297/ This has been the agenda since the 1980's but the ANKC members took it up as their mantra without ever thinking through where did "we must eliminate" came from. If my vet is right,.He believes it is already too late to save the ANKC gene pool, so many breeds remaining gene pool are already too low without opening the stud book to appendix animals which are going to come from where?
  2. I know everyone was told, dont breed, we dont want people wanting a puppy just because they are stuck at home. I have no idea where it is now. but at the time I asked.. Do our dogs know because there is a pandemic they are not allowed to die of old age or accident until its over? I am getting phone calls on average three to five a week, some days that many in one day. And every one of them is to replace the dog they have just lost or finally getting over the loss after a year or so and yep there are no dogs to be found. how how did that come about? its not just because of the pandemic the call has been out not to breed an ankc litter for decades unless you wish to replace for yourself. nothing is more unethical or irresponsible than to breed a litter for sale as pets. As for letting anyone have a main register pup and keep members in the ANKC? Most of the breeders are dead end kennels, Never sell a main register pup. Over 20 years ago I loaned one of mine to a "friend" to breed a pup with the option of a second litter if she was not happy with a pup from the first.. Sooo she bred two litters. 7 in each litter and sold every one of them on limit register. and they were 2000 pups 20 years ago. so she pocketed $24,000 and bought a car and imported a pup instead. I was supposed to get a pup from each litter and I did. but as she had first choice and each time she said there were two she was deciding between I had to settle for 3rd choice. So I was pretty pissed off when I learned she had limit registered every one aside from my two 3rd choices and sold them all as pets? yep there are some interesting people that are ankc "breeders" and think they are the perfection of ethical and responsible. But dont worry. The government is granting breeding licences to commercial puppy farms to fill the massive gap there now is between the hundreds of thousands of people who would love a pet. I just find it hilarious that although no one should be allowed to be an ankc member if they are a "puppy farmer" yet if you are inspected by the rspca for compliance to the "POCTA for breeding dogs and cats" which is minimum by law you must comply with. What is this "POCTA" read it and you realise, our government in NSW, who made it law, is the minimum standard for a puppy farm. The difference of course is although an ankc member is actually a legal puppy farm. They dare not breed pets for joe public. that would be unethical and irresponsible and hated by your fellow members. So it is up to the real puppy farms to gear up and meet the demand. The ankc have seen this coming for years. or they would not have published this http://ankc.org.au/media/6598/a-forensic-view-of-puppy-breeding-in-australiav4.pdf
  3. Had two male cattledogs lock onto each other once and found the one thing that MAKES them let go. lucky there was a hose and tap nearby. turned hose full on and with water going up the nose of the one I had by the tail he sure let go fast. instant shoved into the nose of the other and he too let go in seconds and had them apart before the first boy could snort the water out . it took him quite a few seconds to be able to breathe without gurgling which was time enough needed to have the other let go and busy trying to clear all his face full of water too. Remarkable how fast a snoutfull of water cools the heat of the fight but its not as if you can carry a garden hose with you. be nice if there was an alternative as effective though.
  4. well I have bought two and intend to find out if they work as stated. will report back if it worked. well if the opportunity comes up. will certainly be carrying one any time I go out in future. There are just too many people who do not keep their dogs from roaming.
  5. There are some incredibly ignorant people as to what constitutes a main register pup. Even a long time friend who is an international all breeds judge, told me it meant a guarantee that dog would achieve Australian Champion in front of its name? Love her to bits, but really! Actually there is a footnote to that. Received a phone call from a lady from another state, she had bought a "show and breeding quality" puppy from my friend, she noted immediately its mouth was so out that there was no way she could show it, most judges would non award it even it it was the only one in the class and she certainly would not breed from it. She had advised my friend she was returning the pup and was told she would not take it back, she had rang me to see if I could help. So in that instance it was a case as do as I say, not as I do. I advised her to return the pup personally if she had too. It certainly was not as if the fault had developed later as it grew. Even if the vet doing the vaccination and vet check was at fault for not advising the breeder if she had missed spotting the fault. Main register actually means one thing and one thing only. The puppy at the time of registration in the opinion of the breeder is of sufficient quality to be main registered. FULL STOP. As anyone knows pups can change dramatically. The assessment is only that this pup can be used for breeding when adult if the owner so desired too. It does not mean it will attain Ch status. It does not mean it will win in the show ring. I have never understood how ankc members so enthusiastically took on the idea that you can lifetime guarantee a pup when you cant even do that for your own child? Some where in the rush to be seen as "ethical" and "responsible" common sense went out with the bathwater? There are actually three classes, The Show quality, The Breeding quality and the Pet quality. Puppies can glide between all three during their growing stages at bewildering speed. Many times the Breeding quality parents puppies outshine the Show quality parents puppies. Seen it so so so so many times happen. the story of the ugly duckling is based on fact. so many fables are lessons to be learnt and remembered. Now in this age of astounding prices being asked for x breds, We really need to take a hard look at another we have been continually told. "not in it for the money" . Recently a litter of lovely puppies were offered for sale on Dogzonline for less than half the price of other breeders main register puppies. Being the curious kind, I contacted the seller and asked the reason. To be told, "I have always wanted to breed and now I finally can, I am happy to sell my puppies for this price, as I am not in it for the money." This trend has been getting pretty strong over the years now. We are not "in it for the money", "the ethical responsible breeder should be selling their puppies for less than the cost of having bred and raised them." This is a very interesting mind set. so to attain this goal, firstly no one should join unless they have an independent income and so can afford to breed at a loss.? That effectively gets rid of what was the backbone of the ANKC membership from the outset. Dedicated pensioners. Is it just me wondering why only the independently wealthy are fit to continue a breeding program? I happen to know that a number of people had decided to buy one of the less than half price puppies and resell at a profit, as they told me their plan. I spoke to another member recently who has upped their price because they too discovered people were buying puppies from ANKC members and reselling for up to twice the original purchase price? I think people had better start rethinking this and start deciding on a decent price for the time, work and planning that created the litter they may decide to sell down the track. How did denigrating your time and expertise become something to be ashamed of as indicating if you ask to receive a fair price firmly sticks the "puppy farmer label on you ? You cant get much more pious than decided to become a minister of religion surely? Yet, unless they dedicated themselves to the catholic church and forego wife and children, Our churches ministers, both are paid to feed, clothe and house their family, yet an ankc member cannot do so, if they wish to avoid the stigma of being called a puppy farmer? This is the wonderful team at my local church. You may note they are all staff, they are all paid. They do not need to live in poverty or be independently wealthy to achieve their dream of serving God and their Church. https://springwoodanglican.org.au/people-profiles/ so someone please explain to me why to be an ANKC member and keep the breed of you choice in existence you risk being labeled a puppy farmer if you do not toe the poverty line?
  6. in case you have not noticed, judging by so many laws turning out to have been so badly thought through, being intelligent does not seem to be a prerequisite for politics. law degrees are thick on the ground among many of them. so they like to play the law game but that's just another form of chess game, just learn the game, the moves and the language so the voters havnt a clue what your saying is the way to go.
  7. nothing like encouraging too early desexing, as one vet noted early desexed dogs cost up to 7,000 extra over the lifetime of the dog compared to either late or not desexed at all! Although those who are rehoming an older breeding dog, wouldnt they have already been registered as life entire by the breeder and hence no fee payable, just a transfer to new owner? desexed or not?
  8. pretty stressful for you, our nsw rivers have bull sharks in them, they love dog for dinner. humans too. one took my mums cousin in a supposedly shark proof pool near the bridge over the Georges river near Bankstown airport. turned out there was a hole in the net
  9. be careful of bravecto, a vet recommeded it to my friend and two puppies died 4 had neurological damage symptoms, two recovered, they were cattledogs, think the symptoms presented second time it was used. the vet believed it was caused by the bravecto, as others had similar reaction
  10. GOOD sign, the scammers want the money up front or else I think the advice to phone is a good idea. us oldies get so busy totally forget things way to easily, n lose track of time, tomorrow or soon as I finish this is usually what happens
  11. as it grows up your corgi could be at risk, they tend enjoy a scrap, its what they were bred for. certainly not herding
  12. gee this crossing everything to a poodle its going too far now?
  13. Mike Sturgeon 2hcaft3 AuSpollgnausuioresrtad · PUBlIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT It was on Fox news earlier that 70 dogs have died as a result of eating chicken jerky treats made from chicken that has come from China. Kingdom Pets brand from Costco is one of them. Also certain Blue Buffalo brand pet foods have a recall for the same thing. Please re post and make sure all your doggie friends are aware of this.
  14. spotted on face plant " So learn your breeds and choose wisely. For both your’s and the dog’s sake. Mysia Zagłada FCI 16 tSeputfeSmphmgbenionsrs 20l1rrogeorauedSln9 · (on photo it is play, not agression) "The art of training a dog owner. Dog owner tells me: Hi, my dog pulls on the leash and runs into the woods after deer if I let it off leash. Me: Okay. What's the breed? Owner: A siberian husky mixed with a coon hound. Me: Okay, so you have a musher mixed with a hunting type of dog? Owner: yes. Me: ok, what are these breeds bred to do? Owner: well, half of the dog should be pulling and the other half run into the woods and hunt. Me: Yes. And your problem was? Owner: it pulls on the leash and runs after wildlife. Me: yea, it appears that you have a dog meant for pulling and hunting. Owner: yes, that's correct. Can you train it out of the dog? Me: Do you have any interests? Owner: Eh, yea sure I do. I like to paint and watch movies. Me: can you consider quitting doing that? Owner: no, I don't think I can. But what does this have to do with dog training? Me: would you consider doing something else that gives you the same pleasure you get from painting and watching movies? Owner: I mean, sure I can do other things but it's not as fun. Me: ok. And what can you offer a musher that is more fun than pulling and a hunting dog that is more fun than hunting? The dog owner is silent for a while. Owner: That's a good question. I don't know. Me: neither do I. Owner: perhaps I should had gotten myself a PlayStation? Me: haha, yea if you dont like hunting or being a lot outdoors training perhaps this dog isn't for you. Owner: yea, one should perhaps read up more before getting a dog. But it's awfully cute! Me: yes, I understand that. Owner : it sheds a lot too. My husband goes crazy of all the fur everywhere. Me: mmm, that's something you have to deal with. Owner : yes, it was even hairs in the stew last night. Me: yea that's not uncommon. Owner : but you know what? I met a husky when I was 12. It was so beautiful. Ever since I've always wanted one. Me: too bad you didn't meet a PlayStation instead. Owner laughs: alright, I think I'm starting to understand that it's not the dog that has problems but me. Me: haha, not much of a "problem". What you are saying is very common. People with guarding dogs gets angry when their dog growls at strangers. People with sighthounds gets frustrated when their dog comes home with a baby rabbit. People often know too little when they get a dog. Owner : thanks for the chat. I have learned a lot in 10 minutes. Me: good luck in the future. There's a lot we can do to help you in your training with the dog. But The dog will always have a need and joy to pull and hunt. Owner: yes, I can understand that now." Author unknown.
  15. my aunt bred them for decades and I cant remember her having anything but white with the occasional black eyepatch or to eye patches
  16. Gee even cattledogs are going up A nice red $3000
  17. well that darned investigation into the rspca sure did nothing positive so far
  18. some 20 years ago I received a phone call from a lady to say her puppies photo was being used in a puppy for sale add. I had bred the puppy and when she sent me the site address all the photos were of puppies I had bred? it was a person in victoria and I reported it to the police. apparently she had scammed thousands from people before they caught her so its not a new thing
  19. sadly another person made the mistake of thinking RSPCA Yagoona is safe to use as a vet surgery. Took their cat for a "check up" made the fatal mistake of telling how they acquired her. I hope she goes to the press. They are not a vet surgery, NEVER take your pet there if you hope to see it again. Apparently happened this week. 16/9/20 Cheyenne Speed 1d For the past month I had been feeding this beautiful pregnant mum and kittens from our local gym. I then captured them all to try and get them rehomed to have a better life. I have been able to home the kittens(they were 5 months old)! And the pregnant mum had a home too! We took the pregnant cat who was about 1-2 weeks away from giving birth in to RSPCA Australia RSPCA NSW FOR A CHECK UP (they have Vet services at the location taken) We specifically told you we will take her back and look after her. She was just going in for a check up, you said you would keep her overnight just for observation (due to give birth in a week so wanted to check she was healthy and prepared for birth ) We were on the way to pick her up but you called and said you’ll keep her for a couple extra days to monitor her, we said that’s fine let us know when we can come collect her before she gives birth so she isn’t stressed. We didn’t get that call, we contacted you a few times to get updates because you hadn’t called but couldn’t get through and today you told us you EUTHANIZED HER AND HER KITTENS. I am absolutely heartbroken, I feel so incredibly guilty and I have been sitting on my floor in tears. I captured them for a better a life, we would have given this to her, BUT YOU TOOK THIS AWAY FROM HER AND US!! We ONLY took her to you for a check up, because you preach love and care for animals, we thought she would be safe. My whole dance studio was invested in these beautiful cats, they donated food and money to help these kittens and pregnant cat. I went there daily, sometimes twice a day to feed them. Your excuse you told us over the phone... she wouldn’t be domesticated. That wasn’t your call to make, WE TOLD YOU WE WOULD TAKE HER BACK, you were just supposed to do the check up. We need answers and you need to be held accountable. This post won’t bring her back but maybe it will highlight what you do behind the scenes. Don’t preach love and care for animals and decide to kill a cat and her kittens that were due to be born in a week when she had a home. I know we can’t save them all, but she was saved. I am so sorry to everyone and most of all sorry for this beautiful cat that never got the chance to have a forever home and be given the love she deserved.
  20. I expect there is a thread on it. but cant seem to spot one. I have a bitch a friend wants to lease and put to the male of his choice. what can I ask for or expect in return? totally new territory for me
  21. hilarious, if they dont want shedding coat they had to keep reintroducing the poodle or end up with shedding coats heard that some are advertising pure bred poodles as oodles
  22. well being precious, ethical and responsible has done wonders for the prices of unregistered dogs?
  23. ditto for these, also on Trading Post, farm bred not ANKC https://www.tradingpost.com.au/Pets-And-Horses/Dogs/Cattle-Pups/Windsor/NSW/AdNumber=T575VJ
  24. Hope you are sitting down. none ot these are ANKC breeder puppies
  25. so true Dogsfevr, that fit to fly certificate can only be issued by a vet who obviously did not spot the heart murmur I had not advertised a litter for cant remember when, yet I am getting three to five people a day wanting me to put them on a waiting list, past clients and people who have friends who passed my name so that breeder having a long, long, long waiting list is probably spot on
