wednesday Posted December 9, 2013 Share Posted December 9, 2013 I haven't been able to post this for a while, but here goes. On the 8th of November 2013, we lost our matriarch, Viva. She passed very suddenly at home. We think it was her heart. She was fine one minute and gone the next. Viva was our rock. She was top dog, but gentle as a lamb. She took in all our foster dogs, and had a special calming effect on them. She knew they were afraid and let them know they were in a good place. Viva was also a great ambassador for the breed. She attended pet expo's and despite her enormous size (she was 70kgs), she was gentle with kids and other dogs. She also helped many kids overcome their fear of dogs, like I said, she had a special calming quality, coupled with her soulful eyes, and it just made it so easy for her to ease their fear. She was one in a million. The easiest dog I've ever owned. Easy to live with, never did a thing wrong. No problem off lead. Just easy. And she used to just lie around the house like a rug, you'd just step over her, and she'd move her tail to let us know that she knew we were there, but she didn't need to get up.
