  1. Last pups I had would be let out to the toilet and then put to bed at about 10.30pm - 11pm and would wake up at about 6am. They would nap during the day as well.

    Help

I am almost certain that Iggy's don't like being alone and are really pack animals. You are going to stress the poor little thing out even more if you just ignore him crying and howling. As well as treating the pup as a blank slate and starting from scratch with toilet training etc you are either going to have to work out a way that the dog can be with you or get it a buddy for company. Are you able to babygate off areas of your house so that the puppy can still see you? Maybe you could crate him or puppy pen him in the rooms that you are in so that he can still be with you. There is a Italian Greyhound thread HERE
  3. If she needs more fiber in her diet give her raw food processed veggies and fruit. Get her a half a lamb flap or a kangaroo tail as bones. I'm not a fan of feeding whole chicken necks to smaller dogs because they can't seem to understand or are not able to to rip and chew them up so end up swallowing them whole. I do feed them but up chop them up into pieces first.
  4. Poor thing. I would use Sudocream (zinc oxide cream that can be found at chemists) to dry the ears up. Paw paw is going to keep them moist and might infact attract more insects because it is sweet smelling and tasting.
  5. He hasn't digested the bits of bone so the body is rejecting them.
  6. Perhaps Gribbles Pathology would be able to help you. 9538 6777
  7. Give him some more sardines or some food processed veggies. I would ditched the canned food from his diet and replace it with something like minced chicken carcusses or BARf patties.
  8. Same, I have a singer and a spewer. Cars trips are great fun LOL. Window open works well for the spewer. Only ear plugs work with the singer. ;) Yes one of my ex foster puggies is a singer. It does her mums head in.
  9. It's not likely to be a UTI. I would clean the area with some salty water daily and make sure it is dry. If it continues then get a vet to look at it. Have a chat to your breeder about it as well.
  10. Skin tag. That's not her foot is it? Looks like it is the hock of her back leg.
  11. What are you feeding? Does he eat his own poo?
  12. The toileting accident and not wanting food could be related to his vaccination that he had on the weekend. Many dogs feel lethargic etc after vaccinations. If you are unable to supervise him put him into a puppy pen or crate. This will help stop the toileting accidents but I wouldn't expect a puppy to be totally toilet trained untill they were at least 6 months or older.
  13. Are you saying you have had your puppy since he was a month old or you have had him for a month? Has he had all of his vaccinations and when was his last one? When did you last worm him? Apart from him maybe being sick he is 4 months old and of course he is still going to have accidents. I sickness has been ruled out do not pander to his no eating. Put his food down and leave it for 10 minutes. If he does not eat it remove it and try again at his next feed time.
  14. Is the vet clinic staffed 24/7? What's the reasoning behind them wanting to keep him there? He's dehydrated? He's had a GA? Personally I would bring him home and crate him.
  15. With any surgery dogs generally get a long acting pain relief injection before they go home. Dogs also have less pain receptors then humans. My pug girl has had two lots of dental surgery. First time she had 4 teeth out and the second time 2 teeth out. She was fine without any take home pain relief and I do not believe it is common practice to provide it. Much more major surgeries are performed on animals and they do not need take home pain relief. Could it be that Osca is milking you for all it's worth.
  16. I buy and feed the homebrand sardines in oil. The pugs have them once or twice a week.
  17. Green Tea hasn't got that much caffine in it when compared to black tea or coffee. It's great for cleansing the body. Yes totally worth it. It may be cheaper in the stores then online. The taste difference between T2 and supermarket brands is amazing.
  18. Poor Joey. I'm sure he will feel much better once he has his teeth done and lump off his eyelid. I might be mistaken but I think Cav's might be quite prone to eyelid lumps. Normal dentals for small dogs cost about $400 with one of my vets.
  19. Did he by chance have an intranasal Kennel Couugh vaccination just before his snotty nose occured?
  20. You obviously don't drink green tea yourself. I'm addicted to China Jasmine Green Tea. You can purchase it from the supermarket but I'll give you a tip that your normal Dilmah's and Twinings brands taste awful when compared to the stuff you can buy from T2 which have stores in most big shopping centers. But I'm not sure your dog will care. Make sure the water is not boiling when you prepare it as boiling water will turn the green tea bitter/sour. Recommended temp is around 70 to 80 degrees. I'm presuming that the green tea was suggested because of it's free radicals. I'm not sure how you would get a dog to ingest it other then letting it cool and mixing it in with their food.
  21. ;) I wish that we could magically replace all of the wonky bits in the doggies we love. My ex foster girl Poppy breaks my heart with her wonky little leg. I wish I could take it away and give her a brand new perfect one just like any other pup her age. But like Dexter she doen't complain and is basically happy as larry. She will limp more when she has overdone playing but she has a good quality of life and is happy within herself. I think we sometimes worry more then the actual dog with the disability does.
  22. Does the breeder expect you to meet them in the park again when you actually pick the puppy up or can you go to their house?
