  1. Honestly... slinging insults at people on an internet forum isn't going to get them to back off... casting aspersions, making threats, and saying things about DOCS taking her children is making those doing it look just as messed up as the person they are "attacking"... and some of the things said about this person in this thread could be construed as libelous if she wished to have a piece of the posters in a legal sense... Nuisance calls are a fact of life when you are involved in rescue - suck it up and move on, OK? If you get threats by phone, email, or otherwise, go to the Police... that is the only thing you can do... T.
  2. Awww... love the pics of Jack and his dog... they are a gorgeous pair! T.
  3. Yay for Jasmine! Maybe Gypsy knows that Jasmine is Jack's best mate? T.
  4. Awww... Jack's little heart dog has decided that she wants to stay with him forever methinks... T.
  5. I'm not sure of the bone cancer finding Steve... of the male Rotties I've known that developed it, all were intact... including my own boy Connor... I've not known any desexed female Rotties that have developed bone cancer either... T.
  6. I've not really noticed much difference myself... but I've not been looking for any either... I have noticed that desexed dogs and bitches can get broader after the op though... T.
  7. Awww... I love pics of cute kids playing nicely with dogs... Lucky Jasmine having ice cream cake! T.
  8. I still think she's going to be a FF... Jack has found his heart dog in this girl... and I reckon your little man has great taste! T.
  9. I've swung a boot at the odd aggressive animal trying to attack me or my dogs... aim for a spot that won't kill it though... T.
  10. I had to lock Zeddy in the bathroom with the light off - it's the only place she feels safe in a bad thunderstorm. My foster pups all got treats and were totally oblivious to the racket and lightshow going on outside... T.
  11. The look on her face is priceless... "oops! me is got sprung!"... And here is what my place looked like at around 6:30am this morning... my neighbour came out and asked if this was the Apocalypse starting... hehe!
  12. I'm thinking that Jasmine has decided that she wants to stay with you and the kids forever k9angel... *grin* T.
  13. It's so good to hear of young children being taught to interact properly with dogs... no doubt your boys will grow up to be great ambassadors for doggie rescue... well done! T.
  14. Way to go Jasmine! You are doing great k9angel... and it sounds like your little ones are doing a great job of helping too... *grin* T.
  15. SPR has a point... taking the dog for a walk before ending quarantine could leave nasties for other dogs to catch... ... and to state that you have done that here - well - leaving yourself wide open to "constructive criticism"... *grin* Trust me - don't fight them on this one - they are right about the need for quarantine... even if no-one tells Joe Public adopting a pound dog not to take it anywhere for 2 to 3 weeks... grrr! T.
  16. I was once in a position of having a very drunk and aggressive flatmate brandish a knife at me... and my totally untrained crossbreed dog got between me and the threat and made it known under no uncertain terms what would happen if he came any closer to me... and she was a medium sized nondescript mutt... the flatmate got the point though... *grin* My heart dog (Rottie) was sleeping on my bed with me one morning when another flatmate knocked then opened my door to let me know that someone wanted me on the phone - and it was the funniest sight watching this 10 week old puppy stand over me and put on a defensive display at my 6'4" male Maori flatmate... he wasn't intimidated... much... The same dog would regularly stand in front of me if she picked up something strange about anyone approaching us on walks too - but as soon as I let her know I wasn't feeling any threat, she would relax and let them approach and touch her, or whatever. She was NEVER trained to do anything other than very basic obedience... T.
  17. If I didn't know what a sweetheart your big black dog is Katdogs - I'd be leery about approaching you too... *grin*... as for the little black dog you also have... well... T.
  18. I have had a few Rotties like your GSD - rather run than stick around and help... *grin*... actually mine were more likely to hide behind me and peer out from there with a worried look on their faces... Funnily enough, my current Labrador would be the dog most likely to protect me if I was being physically imposed upon... totally friendly to the point of being annoying in any other setting though... hehe! T.
