good ol' dog. Look at his tennis ball worn teeth. I think you've made the right decision for him, and he'll loved and cherished all his life. I'm glad you have so many photos of his time with you.

I was just thinking yesterday about suggesting another zoo day as it's been almost 2 years since the last one, can you believe that!!! I'm in, Wednesdays and Sundays aren't good for me but any other is fine.

Finally, finally after pretty much years of trying, I got a semi OK panning shot, except I've blown the highlights grrrr! My Penny girl who is almost 12 years old, how good does she look, I'm so proud of her.

what an amazing photo!

Has this puss really got a white nose or is it pink?

I think the earlier 1.8's had more metal in them, much more robust build.
-
good news. I've heard stories like that before about the 1.8, even of someone dropping it and it coming apart, they just picked it up and clicked it back together again. Not sure how true it is.

December Treasure Hunt! 2010 - Photo Challenge
Kirislin replied to Ashanali's topic in Photos, Photos, Photos
a few days late but I couldn't help myself Rotten Pucky enjoying a blackened rotten banana skin he found up at the park today. -
thanks I'd gone up with my wide lens because yesterday there'd been no one else around but some fantastic cloud formations, so I thought I might get the same conditions today. Nup, everything different, stacks of people, no clouds and the wrong lens for fast moving doggy action. Here's another, they were both amazing, I think they'd get a try out for the socceroos.

Not good but I have to post something. Obviously just a spur of the moment shot, Bess and Rangi at the park this morning with their new Christmas present.

Huskies Maul Dog Owner's Jack Russell To Death In Savage Attack
Kirislin replied to The Spotted Devil's topic in In The News
I saw photos of the dogs in question and I think they are malamutes not huskies. I feel very sorry for the woman and her poor little dog Joysie. -
Just A Couple Photos I Wanted To Share :d
Kirislin replied to Beth.'s topic in Photos, Photos, Photos
very pretty photos, I like whatever you've done to them afterwards too, the way the grass stands out in the top one. In the first pic Lottie reminds me of those pics of foxes when they're about to do that big high pounce. -
I'm coming in late, missed day 1. Only took 2 pics yesterday so here's one and for today, a friend gave me this lovely vase for my birthday today and it really suits Aussie natives so I got some gum leaves and grevilleas from my garden.

Don't Let Your Dog Beg At The Table
Kirislin replied to persephone's topic in General Dog Discussion
that's a wonderful photo, you could turn it into a card. -
I love the first shot too and am glad to see I am not the only one to let my dogs lick the coffee cup. the past pic is very cute too cause everything is in focus except a waggy tail.

Canon 1000d Twin Lens Kit -new - Under $600!
Kirislin replied to Lyla's topic in Photos, Photos, Photos
yep, that's true, I just wanted anyone who might be interested in the kit to be aware that they might not be. When I bought my camera everyone said to me, get IS and when I asked the salesman if they were IS lenses he assured me they both where, but they weren't. -
Puck week 1. I wanted to get a shot of him counter surfing as he does it so much, but generally when I am not in the room. He couldn't understand when I was suggesting he steal the piece of cheese I'd put there. I did manage to get a shot but it was dark, and he was quick. I might work on this one a bit more.

Canon 1000d Twin Lens Kit -new - Under $600!
Kirislin replied to Lyla's topic in Photos, Photos, Photos
I think neither of those lenses have IS. They'd be the ones I got when I bought my 400D. While I did get some good photos I found they were pretty ordinary lenses. -
I'm sorry you have come to this time in her life when you know the end is near. The way I feel about it is when people say if she's not in pain to let her continue on. Do they mean you wait until she is in pain before making that sad decision to let her go? I hope when I am faced with this decision I will let my dogs go before they are in pain. When I know the inevitable course is all downhill and right at that moment they are the best they will ever be again I would like to think I have the strength to let them go. I dont envy your position though. Your old girl is lucky to have had a loving home all her life, the very fact that you are here asking these questions proves you love her and will do your very best for her.

could it be dust on the connection points?

the 7D has video, I dont think the 50D does and it has 6.3 fps.
-
good advice. right now the 60D is almost $100 cheaper than the 50D at DWI.

December Treasure Hunt! 2010 - Photo Challenge
Kirislin replied to Ashanali's topic in Photos, Photos, Photos
Aperture of around 22 (or greater), set it on something solid (or a tripod), use either a trigger or the timer to set it off. You may need to do a few before you get your settings spot on. I did this but mine still came out blurred and overexposed. I need to keep trying though, thanks for the tips, I'm not sure if I had it on f22, that might have been part of the problem.
